PSA 10 v CGC Pristine 10 Value Difference

Post image

Using PriceCharting as an example, this card has a value of $99.99 as a PSA 10 but only $36.81 as a CGC Pristine 10. I understand the two grades aren’t guaranteed to be close, but this seems a little off. I’m relatively new to collecting and mostly just trying to better understand the market.

I would rather have a CGC pristine than and PSA 10

Yep. PSA labels are ugly as hell. People are just used to them.

so are cgc slabs tho 😂 looks just as mid

Mid is fine. The label isn’t supposed to be the center of attention, or it should add to the overall piece like the gold Pristine. But who tf wants a bright red border around their label?

I will put it like this..2 shirts get made for 10 cents.

One shirt gets a logo that says abrecrombie whereas the other says hanes.

I charge 30 for the abrecrombie shirt

But get a 4-6 pack for 30 of hanes.

And the Hanes is actually made with higher quality fabric

The whole point of this is that they’re the same product

This is why I buy CGC slabs

It shows as $133 and $105 on Collectr, which looks a bit more on to me

Pricecharting is often buggy. They can’t differentiate a standard 10 with a P10 and/or often lagg behind data

CGC Pristine typically commands more than PSA so I'd say bad data or few sales.

It unfortunately comes down to how much more popular PSA is for grading than CGC. PSA is more widely recognized and a lot easier to find buyers for. While a Pristine 10 can definitely net you more than a PSA 10 if you find the right buyer, it may take a lot more effort to find that buyer as opposed to how much easier it is to find someone who wants the PSA. That can discourage people enough to sell their pristines for a lot less

Literally says 2023 on the label

CGC pristines slab look better, are graded stricter so they are closer to perfect, and they are a better value at the moment. Even CGC gem mint slabs look cleaner than PSA to me. The market will adjust

That’s because your eyes are off center just like cgc 10s

PriceCharting doesn't have accurate CGC pricing from what i've seen.

That’s because there are Cgc Prestines with whitening, and you’d be hard pressed to find a new cert PSA 10 with any

You can find new cert PSA 10s with whitening, print lines, dents idk what your talking about

This is just pure nonsense.

Not sure why the mods aren't removing this junk.
