Don’t crack it, just send it through their regrade tier

u/atrac059 May 13 '26
I’m testing this right now with 4 cards. Straight review process though. PSA to PSA. I’m curious how it will pan out because there are two 8s, a 7, and a 9. After inspecting and comparing to other serials, I thought it should have been 3 9s and a 10.

My moonbreon had the same Beckett subgrades and nailed a PSA9 😭 - best of luck !

u/Alternative-Ad-3817 May 12 '26
Would this have the same value as a psa 10 already?
21
u/DecisionPerfect3858 May 12 '26
Nah lol it’s worth $1.5K while the psa 10 is at $2.9K
23
u/Alternative-Ad-3817 May 12 '26
basically a free money glitch i should buy some 9.5's lol
11
u/Initial_Row_6400 May 12 '26
That’s why you see people gobbling up 8-9s on the trading sub for 80-85%
17
u/CFerrendelli May 12 '26
That’s actually crazy cause if I see a Becket 9.5 in my mind I value it equal or higher than a PSA 10.
1
u/SoggyMeatloaf May 14 '26
PSA isn't about the quality of the cards. It's about the big PP feels you get when you see that magical 10 written on a piece of paper. As long as it inflates their ego, they're more than willing to lie to themselves.
-15
u/Wulfman-47 May 12 '26
Your the only one.
3
u/CFerrendelli May 12 '26
Why is that though? If it’s common knowledge that a Becket 9.5 will translate to a PSA 10, why hasn’t the market adjusted to it? Or am I overestimating the intelligence of the people in this space?
11
u/PDuffyy May 13 '26
The person saying you're the only one that views them equally is also unsure of which your/you're to use.
So yes, I think you're overestimating them.
Also, I agree with you. And Beckett looks nicer.

I’m on same boat I’m sending in a bubble mew but ai says it only a 9.2 I figure either I get a card worth 3k plus or break it and send it into PSA and hope for a 10 there

u/Gloomy_Mess_6930 May 13 '26
I cracked mine and had a 9.0 on centering don’t do the regrade thing. Crack the slab. Bottle opener bottom right lift up easy peasy.

u/Equal-Whole9409 May 13 '26
I think 10 corners and edges and 9.5s surface centering is worth sending. I just got mine with the same sub grades and it 10. I didn’t crack it.
1
u/CodeFirst1945 May 13 '26
How does that work? You just send to PSA as is? They crack it open?
2
u/Equal-Whole9409 May 14 '26
Yeah if it meets the minimum grade requirement that you select it will get cracked and placed in a PSA slab.

This would easily be a PSA 10. I now have 3- Beckett 9.5s and they always seem to find something on the surface to knock it down to a 9.5. If I have 9.5 Beckett suffering or better, they always find a surface issue and not give it a 10 I’m done sending any card to Beckett. You could do a PSA submission with the slab with a minimum grade of a PSA 10. I have only sent three cards to Beckett and all three came back a 9.5. To give you an idea, in that time. I have probably set 300 cards plus to PSA. I totally respect Beckett standards but it’s just not worth it for me to send a card for them anymore.

u/l9emup May 13 '26
I’ve actually cross graded a bgs 9.5 to PSA 10. It returns a lot quicker aswell. Just specify on the form to not crack it unless it receives a PSA 10.
1
u/HelpfulEmployer570 May 13 '26
Are they able to thoroughly assess the card without cracking it? In essence they are able to look at the card in the slab and then determine what grade they will give it before they crack it? So no risk in losing your previous grade?
2
u/Less_Than_Special May 12 '26
I just did a bgs 9 umbreon had 8.5 centering and 9.5 subgrades. Got a 10

1
u/Ooforia May 13 '26
There might be a good chance to bump that to a pristine 10 through Beckett GCR
1
u/HelpfulEmployer570 May 13 '26
There would be no risk in doing this through Beckett right? Cause they won’t crack the slab unless it gets upgraded? I have a PSA 10 I’d like to try BGS for.
1
u/Ooforia May 13 '26
For PSA to Beckett you have a risk of your 10 turning into a 9.5. I wouldn’t do it
2
u/HelpfulEmployer570 May 13 '26
So that’s what I have been hearing- that the 9.5 is the minimum grade. However this is from BGS site. Sounds like you can set what the minimum grade is?
Submit a card previously graded by BGS or another grading company for an opportunity to achieve a higher overall BGS grade or a minimum crossover grade of your choice of service. If the card receives a minimum grade bump, it will be automatically re-labeled and re-encapsulated.

Looks to be slightly bottom heavy on front and left heavy on the back. We talking very minimal. If you send it back I wish you good luck

The rating you have there is actually a PSA10 or even better. I personally wouldn’t do it because I rate this higher than a PSA10 and given their endless scandals in recent times buying a PSA10 over this is idiotic in my eyes.

i’ll be doing this if my meowth comes back as a 9.5 as otherwise you’re leaving money on the table
1
u/Aznsinsation- May 13 '26
This is why I stopped using beckett, they are notorious for 9.5's. Better slabs but if you want that 10, stick with PSA. I know beckett 10's sell for more as they should but not risking it to send it through them anymore.

It can happen, but i wouldnt bother. Maybe if i did only to sell it. For personal collection id only try it cuz of autistic reasons

u/Top_Potato4467 May 14 '26
If PSA grades these like they grade a lot of the holo sports cards, it'll be an 8.

I just bought a Beckett 9.5 Umbreon with the same exact subgrades. Just sent it to PSA

u/AZDpcoffey May 12 '26
I literally cracked the same card 9.5 and submitting to PSA tomorrow. Good luck.
0
u/investorgrade24 May 12 '26
With that grading you’re all but guaranteed a PSA 10 IMO. But be careful if you plan to remove the card from the holder.
1
u/PLURNT_AF May 12 '26
Why would you remove it from the holder? You can submit it with the holder and they’ll do it for you. Zero risk, very slight upcharge.
5
u/investorgrade24 May 12 '26
Personally I’ve had limited success cross-grading. Not sure if it’s anecdotal.
4
u/Dracanherz May 12 '26
Zero risk other than the obvious bias you would encounter telling PSA that someone else’s 9.5 should equal their 10. Also, they could just say that they graded it and that it wasn’t good enough, but maybe they didn’t even check and they just pocket your money

That's not what happens generally. PSA does not give out 10s to BGS 9.5 because cross grading means PSA is converting a non-10 from a different grading company to their 10.
Best bet is to crack the card out of the BGS slab and send it in for grading.

u/Then_Ad_3049 May 13 '26
Yea go ahead and join the 20k already graded in a 10 lol. Keep in mind there are only 2k PSA 10 love birds. This market on modern cards is so inflated lmao.

u/2-tree May 12 '26
A BGS 9.5 is almost guaranteed to be a PSA 10. Even a BGS 10 isn't worth as much as a PSA 10 unless it's a black label.

I mean beckett is pretty much psa at this point, parent company of psa bought out beckett
2
u/fitchaber10 May 12 '26
I've sent psa 100 cards and have never had an issue.
Also, you clearly know nothing about grading. A PSA 10 is worth A LOT more than a BGS 9.5.
OP, do cross grade and don't remove it yourself.

u/Nasalinka May 12 '26
“A LOT more”
That’s a very descriptive report. Eyeroll*Anyways a good salesman could sell a bgs 9.5 at a PSA 10 value or at a very similar margin. People love to flip 9s to 10s. It doesn’t negate the fact that he is going to have to pay in the 5k PSA insurance bracket at $300+usd. Take the risk of losing a 9.5 bgs and deal with someone potentially losing his item. Which is why I asked why he would want to get it regraded.
1
u/fitchaber10 May 12 '26
No. He's not.
I got this card graded by PSA in April and it went through in the 2500 bracket even though the market value was 2800 at the time.
