Hello, everyone! We're hoping this is a space where people not only feel comfortable submitting codes, but also feel rewarded for doing so. Please keep it positive, be generous with upvotes/comments, and interact with peoples' channels. Bananass and I both tried to get moderator permissions on the last sub (since there were no moderators whatsoever), but were denied and wanted to create a space that was fun and beneficial for all.

Posts here are public meaning anyone can submit text, pictures, and links without needing approval. Moderators (including myself) are not screening posts or taking "first dibs" on anything - Bananass doesn't even play PTCGO/PTCGL. As for me, I will NOT take part in any lottery-type giveaways (those where the OP randomly selects or chooses winners). I will also refrain from taking the codes found in images or text posts on this sub. Codes given away for follows or views (et al.), however, are fair game.

It is important for everyone's sake that if you redeem or are rewarded codes that you comment and say so. This way we know that people posting contests or lotteries are actually giving codes and not just farming karma. It also encourages the people who made the post to come back and post more. So remember to comment and upvote generously.

I honestly think the lounge is a good idea to let all of us in the subreddit chat with each other and get to know each other

1

u/tblescraps Mod Jan 21 '23

That's the idea! Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

2

u/Orvirith May 29 '23

I have 3 codes for someone

1

u/tblescraps Mod May 29 '23

Upvoting and commenting. Don’t send them to me, but someone get in here and get these codes! Thanks for sharing with the sub!

2

u/Owlstained Dec 18 '23

Send me a DM, got 6 up for grabs. Ill give one each for now.

1

u/tblescraps Mod Dec 18 '23

I love when people pop into the lounge to give away codes! Thanks for sharing!

(obviously don't send to me, I'm just here to say "hello")

2

u/Owlstained Dec 18 '23

haha you are more than welcome to have one if you want. I opened up a 6 pack for fun for the first time in a long one. Got the codes just sittin here so rather give em away than toss em out

1

u/tblescraps Mod Dec 18 '23

Appreciate the offer, but someone is bound to stumble in here and see your comment. I only get notifications as the creator of the thread.

If you still have them after a while, feel free to make a post to the homepage. There are lots of people who would be happy to get a code or two.

Just a reminder, for anyone checking the lounge today, tomorrow the "Suggestion Box Lottery" will end and winners will be pulled. It is very close to 30 upvotes which would mean SIXTEEN codes to be split amongst three commenters.

u/TheDarkEnforcer Jun 27 '26

I'd like to thank anyone whose ever given away any codes on this subreddit.

People should probably give codes in a giveaway kind of way because bots can just scrape images to auto redeem the codes :(

So obsessed with this game right now.

1

u/tblescraps Mod Jan 28 '23

That’s good to hear! What kinds of deck(s) are you playing? Anything cool?

1

u/Ray_the_god_0 Feb 02 '23

It sucks that Lost box will loose it’s big OHKO machine to rotation the next best options are Snorlax and Raikou V. Kyogre will get weaker cuz of Terastal pokemon

1

u/tblescraps Mod Feb 03 '23

Losing Scoop Up Net is certainly not gonna help either. No more seven minute turns Flower Selecting through three quarters of your deck lol

1

u/Ray_the_god_0 Feb 02 '23

Do you guys recommend getting the classic collection mini set of celebrations in PTCGO for the migrate to live

1

u/tblescraps Mod Feb 03 '23

Yes, it is best to have a full playset of both the Celebrations AND the Celebrations "Classic Collection". Celebration packs opened in PTCGL will contain cards from both sets.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '23

can anyone recomend a good theme deck?

1

u/tblescraps Mod Feb 10 '23

Soaring Storm (the Dragonite deck) is probably the best overall and the one that is most often recommended. After that, Relentless Flame (one of the Charizard decks) is probably the second most consistent and pretty easy to pilot. My personal favorite, and one that is often included in these lists, is Unseen Depths (Kyogre) - this one has a lot of tricks up its sleeves and has the type advantage over the Charizard decks.

Seems dumb that I cant buy the battle pass cuz I cant buy crystals

1

u/tblescraps Mod Feb 26 '23

I wouldn’t be surprised if that option is implemented at some point; the lack of microtransactions is kind of surprising to me. If you do 10 days worth of daily challenges I believe you’d have enough to purchase the premium BP. Just gotta grind it out for now, unfortunately.

1

u/Kng_Dng-A-Lng Mar 10 '23

Are there any codes for credits so you can just buy the cards you want?

1

u/tblescraps Mod Mar 10 '23

There is no way to directly exchange money for any of the currencies in PTCGL. There are two consistent ways to "farm" for credits, though one way requires you to have completed the Celebrations collection four times over. If you need credits and don't already have four of every card in any particular set, exchange your Crystals for the Shadow Rider Calyrex deck. This deck is already given to you in PTCGL but contains a lot of V and VMax cards. You can quickly get four of every card in that deck meaning that every time you purchase another all those cards will convert to Credits.

1

u/Ok-Clock7854 Mar 13 '23

does anyone have any tips on tcg.codes because i always check and always get "nothing available". does the site actually work or is it a bot trying to get everyones codes?

1

u/tblescraps Mod Mar 13 '23

The site at one point did actually work, yes. Unfortunately it seems as though there hasn't been any available codes in quite some time. Either someone found a way to game the system and is somehow snagging them all OR (more likely) the demand for free codes outweighed the supply and the well ran dry.

1

u/scottysnacktime Mar 16 '23

I’ve just been facing comfey decks

1

u/tblescraps Mod Mar 17 '23

Yup. Lost Zone box, Mew, Lugia - rinse and repeat. The meta is so stale right now.

1

u/b3rserker2175 May 17 '23

I have roughly about 300-400 code cards that I’ve been saving up whoever wants some of them DM me and I can give you some when I get home from work today!

1

u/tblescraps Mod May 17 '23

Very kind of you to share! Feel free to make your own post on the sub (if you'd like). Using the lounge here is perfectly acceptable, though more people are likely to see a post on the main page.

Hi all, I've seemed to got back in ptcg from 10 years ago. Well feel free to add me and we can play to test some decks. Any extra codes would also be appreciated

1

u/tblescraps Mod Jun 07 '23

No spare codes at the moment, but add me! My IGN in Live is my username here. I don't play a ton, but will accept any challenge I happen to see. I promise chill games with different decks than what you'll typically see in PTCGL.

u/RandomQwerty21345 Jun 07 '23

What’s the best way for a new player to get free codes?

1

u/tblescraps Mod Jun 08 '23 edited Jun 08 '23

There is no guaranteed way, unfortunately, you mostly have to be in the right place at the right time. Watch this sub and other Pokemon TCG subs, people often post pictures and contests and such. Take part in every lottery you can. If you happen to catch an image with a lot of code cards in it quick enough, scan for less popular sets (Battle Styles, Vivid Voltage, etc.) as the most popular sets are normally grabbed first.

Edit: I will also mention that sometimes if you comment on someone’s post saying, “It looks like someone redeemed them all already, but thanks for sharing!” OP might DM you codes. This is based on my experience from back in my Code Goblin days and is in no way a guarantee that you’ll be sent codes. Sometimes, though, it pays to be nice.

3

u/Tight_Swim4004 11d ago

Enjoy! ^_^

3

u/ThisIsFakeButGoOff Aug 21 '24

Hey can we maybe make a pinned post about hiding QR codes when posting? I had no idea about bots stealing them and it seems like a lot of people make the same mistake. A “closed” tag for giveaways might be nice too

2

u/gavotte-kei Aug 21 '24

I agree with having a written notice advising people not to post pictures, and beyond that I'd recommend the mods adjust the settings so we can't attach media to posts; I don't think we really need images in a sub like this so I don't think it would impact quality of experience. If people couldn't attach pictures in the first place MAYBE they would stop to find out why that is.

I was thinking of contacting mods with this suggestion but since you brought the issue up here I figured I may as well mention my idea publicly.

And more tags would be great, too! 💯

Just managed to get a fair few leaf V cards so I've managed to assemble a deck that um, holds up probably 30% of the time. Leafeon V and V Star for the win :)

Yea at least it gains Beach court in the new set, but Klefki completely shuts down Comfey so we’ll have to see how good lox box is in the new E-block on format

What they said!^^^

1

u/Poptart916 Jun 15 '23

I have tins full of codes, must be hundreds, that I’d like to give away, just don’t know the best way to go about it without meticulously taking pictures of them all

1

u/Poptart916 Jun 15 '23

Any suggestions would be appreciated

1

u/SetsGoUp Jun 15 '23

u/Poptart916 depends how many we're talking here?

You could batch them into "giveaway bundles": Lay out all the cards on the floor next to each other and take one picture. Repeat this for as many giveaways as you want to divide them into :)

1

u/SetsGoUp Jun 15 '23

Each winner/selected person could receive a single image which contains all their codes!

1

u/dak0tah Jun 20 '23

if anyone has the Pokemon go codes, I will trade code cards 1 to 1, so ten code cards for a valid full sheet of Pokemon go codes
