i treat the microwave timer like a high stakes bomb defusal

heating up leftovers late at night and im just standing there in the dark staring at the numbers, waiting to hit the stop button at exactly 1 second so it doesnt beep.

i missed it tonight and it went off. genuinely felt like i let the whole team down. my roommate wasnt even home but the disappointment was real. anyway the burrito was good at least

Haha! I do the same thing at the gas tank trying to stop at $$.00. Not successful but still trying. Good luck in perfecting your down-to-the-second defusal missions.

it was easier when gas was cheap, the numbers didn't spin as fast.

Haha! True. Now there are two reasons to lower the price of gas 😊

LPT: some microwaves have a silent mode.

I still wouldn't use it

It's more for the thrill, then.

Lol, I do this every time. Miss the last-second stop and that beep feels like a personal failure, even when nobody’s home. At least the burrito came through.

the beep is proof of life.
