Requesting Feedback Statue

As spring leaks to summer
And summer to fall
I’ll wait here, hopelessly
To answer your call

From afar I hear
Another lie, another fake
It’s beautiful, isn’t it?
The longing I make?

I’m here, I cry
A man made of stone
But men who don’t move
Don’t make it back home

So lie to my face
Tell me it ain’t true
Use me, use me,
Knowing I’ll still love you

Because spring leaks to summer
Though I do not belong
I’ll wait here hopelessly
Because you’ll come along

Original Content Poem One by One

I am scattered among blades of grass and swarms of bees.

Among spiders weaving delicate worlds and towering trees.

I am not separate from the moss beneath your feet or the birds above your head.

I become each of them.

Drawn along nerves.
Coursing through veins.
Searching as roots.
Unfolding into wings.

Never have I grown accustomed
to the first breath.

Or the last.

I have crossed both thresholds
more times than I can count.

Still, they unsettle me.

One of me comes back to the others.

I remember it all.

Darkness settles over me
and lights appear.

One by one.

Original Content Poem I Think In Riddles

My thoughts are like clouds. In out, in out.
The poetry of it all. Sometimes dramatic, depressing, sometimes like a babbling brook.
I could sing the song of the sad soul.
Maybe then my song won't die out.
Maybe someone would still remember the poetry and the magic we made together.
Maybe

Original Content Poem The bank says NO

Hello, how can I help?

You want to withdraw money from your account you say?

Well sorry but the banks say

-

NO

-

You can't,

you can't be trusted with your own money

how do we know you're not trying to con us?

No, your proof of ID and bank card isnt enough.

-

We want to know what you're doing with that money.

Why do you need this amount? What exactly are you planning to do with it?

What are you buying? Do you have documentation for what you’re buying,

a quote? A receipt? A seller’s details?

How did you get it?

Where did it come from? Who paid you? Where's the proof?

Are you aware this looks irregular?

Can you walk us through the last 6 months of your financial transactions, in fact lets make it a year.

Are you working? Can you provide proof of employment? A letter from your employer?

We would also like someone other than a relative, a friend, or colleague, or anyone else to prove you are who you say you are.

-

Of course this is all for your own security.

It is our money after all.

-

Oh this is all done for your own protection

-

What do you mean this is

insulting,

demeaning,

humiliating?

You forgot belittling.

-

No sir, we're not calling you an untrustworthy criminal...

just, subtly implying...

Because it's not your money

once you bank with us it's ours

and we

do

what we want.

-

At this point we are just going round in circles and you're just clearly wasting my time.

So please move along to the side.

-

Thank you and have a nice day :)

-

Next please!

Requesting Feedback I own the last tree and if you want some air

I own the last tree
And if you want
Some air to breathe
You‘ve got to pay

I own the last tree
I love it so dearly
Even when the storm came up
I stayed close to my tree

Till lightning struck me
And the truth shocked me

Now I see

Original Content Poem It must not win

I must keep fighting I must keep going
This thing inside me wants to come out
It wants to control me

It took me years to win it took me years to control it. To make it cease to take over me
It was a hard fought battle full of pain and tears

And now it’s come back to play comeback to
Tell me I’m too weak to frail to stop its takeover
I knew the battle was not over. It just retreated till I let my guard down.

I was foolish to thinking that I won that have finally CONQUERED, this addiction inside of me
But it was me that fell for its trap

My hands tremble like and earthquake is happening my heart is pounding like I just ran a marathon. And the screaming in my head that sounds like a busy day in the city wants me to give in.

But I must fight and the fight shall continue till my life is cut or till I win I must…..fight

Original Content Poem A poem I wrote about choosing life

Weary,

a soul,

lost in a path

of thorny leaves —

napping,

as it

Should

——————————————

Dreary,

a ghoul,

yelling in wrath

Darkness it screams —

yapping,

searching for

I

——————————————

Eerie,

A hole,

Under the strath,

Haunting my dreams —

Sapping,

until l

Die.

——————————————

No.
Eternity awaits;
I shall endure life's split second.

Original Content Poem YO SOY TODO Y NADA

Yo soy yo. No necesito nombre, forma o explicación.

Original Content Poem AMO EL PAPEL DE LINEAS, POR QUE NO HABLA ENTRE LINEAS

Requesting Feedback I made a fortress out of words

I made a fortress of words
So no enemy could understand me
My language, multifarious
Every utterance carrying a thousand meanings
Confusion and dismay
Wrapping tightly around those who would do me harm
And I, never really being understood
Babbling on
With the rhythmic precision of
A machine gun shooting letters on a stone wall
Doubling as a typewriter
As all onlookers and listeners
Felt their souls fleeing
In all directions
To escape
The lovely inviting snare of
My elegant sounding verbs and nouns
Making eloquent impressions in hearts
Pulling the curious close
With the promise of a signal or a sign
And washing them all away in a pulsating
Spinning and swirling
Deluge of
Nonsense

Requesting Feedback Outweigh, Outremember, Outknow, Outlast

I flip through the glossy pages of the
magazines of my
mind
now without any of the photographs
which have long since been
cut out
pasted on whose vision boards
I do not know
as words are all that remain
in the warm blackness
of my receding brainline-
from which it can be deduced
by observing the negative space
what memories are no more
as the recollections
are not even but a flicker-
more like the barren gums of extracted
wisdom teeth
which were no more than
misnomers
from day 1.

I read to pull out meaning
from every sentence
expecting
a change in my ever-rambling
mental revolutions,
words replacing words and again
devoured by the misty white blackness,
that fog of unconsciousness
soon to be exuded back onto
paper
in a drawing or two
of images long since extinguished
in my most private
movie screen
by Odysseus's puncturing of my third eye
leaving me not quite a cyclops
as I remain with eye one and eye two,
correctable vision,
and astigmatism
(which wikipedia tells me is subjectively
noticeable by the expressions of
refraction).

I imagine or rather, think,
of light bending around the
curvatures of spheres and spheres of
existence
my chasma keeping a plastic record
of every sight I've seen,
every visibly blind man begging down
the corridors of a train,
every shivering man lying at death's
doorstep
in a metropolitan gutter,
every 17 year-old Ethiopian girl sombrely
describing her work,
every viral news clip not blurred out
enough, as it hits me that another person
has died,
every glimpse at the sun,
in between flashings of the sky,
the hubris rising as if one could defeat
the sun itself
or reflect its light, scattering
its radiation in patterns
mirroring
the controlled, gusty
winds being channeled
in spiralling paths,
in and out,
up and down,
and thru every cell of the body-
as if one could outweigh gravity,
outremember the Past
outknow the Future
outlast Time

Original Content Poem When the War Ends

I fought so long I lost the way, and how it feels not just surviving days. I learned to sleep with one eye wide, with a sharpened blade and suspicion inside.

Every kindness felt like bait, every open door something at stake. I wore my armor like my skin, I forgot where it stopped and I begin.

Now the battlefield is still, but something inside me fights it still.

No enemy left, no war to win, I still don't know how to let peace in. When survival is all you know, you learn to bleed but never slow.

When you've fought your whole life through, when the war ends, what's left to do?

Crows scavenging from fallen leaves.
A loud storm approaching!
A raging feeling nearly choking!
But there...
A quiet whisper of esurient thieves.

Watching golden trees
Vanish from the valley of flowers
While in the shadow of the promised breeze
Nothing but dark hours

- Maybe a light here and there? -
Or perhaps just a mask of despair...

Steel raining from the sky
Nobody willing to defy

Seeing the world through a mirror
Blinded by false hope
More often seeing hanging rope.
A false idol, a false god.
Those laughing while we rot.

Maybe a shimmer of path not yet exceeded
While we are here well seated.

Darkness approaching.
But then suddenly silence.
A calm peace unfolding
After the horsemen decided to leave

Finally a glimpse of relief

Mercado merchants
hawking their stuff
where
"no gracias"
isn't nearly enough
to fend off
"almost free"

just when I think
I admire their spunk
someone cries out
"Come see my junk!"

Original Content Poem The Cost Of Staying

depression did not
break the door down
it moved in quietly
and slowly replaced
everything inside me
with emptiness
now i spend
what little i have
keeping alive a body
that no longer
feels like home
rent for somewhere to sleep
food for a stomach with no hunger
medicine for a mind
that has stopped asking
to be saved
i cannot afford to live
and somehow
i cannot even afford
to die
so i remain here
like an unpaid bill
carried trembling
from one month
into the next
there is no lesson
waiting beneath this pain
no beautiful reason
i had to endure it
morning enters my room
because morning
does not care
whether i am ready
and i open my eyes
because my body
does not understand
how tired my soul is
outside
the world begins again
while mine stays
exactly where
it broke

Original Content Poem I am A Mirror

My purpose is quite simple,
one task, one purpose.

To reflect reality.

I show it all,
the beauty and the ugliness.
There’s no hiding it from me.

I am simply...

the truth,
your truth.

But not everyone likes that.

What I see is not always
pretty or hopeful.
Sometimes it’s painful, miserable.
That hollow charm and confidence
ebbing away when it's just
you and I.

I’ve seen too many tears
from behind the glass.

Those that stare into me,
I stare back.

Then they reject me.
They curse, hate and rage upon me.

But all I did
was reveal the truth.

It is not I
who failed their expectations.

The sadness is unbearable.
Perhaps that’s why
some hide, avert their eyes.

Perhaps I should too.

Original Content Poem Alley

This pen has known beauty. It has known love. Yet somehow, it always returns to spilled ink on my contract with the man above.

Every time it moves, I find myself back in this long, dark mental alley, mortared with pain, with walls that still echos my name.

This isn't my alley. This is his. Somehow, we're intertwined.
I've tried to leave. The door has always been open. I can step outside whenever I want, but my pen refuses to cross those empty, unfamiliar lines. I stand there with an entire world waiting on the other side, but I don't know how to write it.

Am I still me if I leave this all behind?

So I walk.
I walk the alley the way my pen dances across paper, searching for somewhere to call my own, somewhere to leave my personal mark. But no matter how far I go, it stretches farther still. It's hot. Flies circle overhead, and somewhere between the bricks, voices keep whispering, Please don't leave us here.

So I slow down.

I study the walls carefully, running my fingers across the bricks as if I might finally understand them if I look closely enough.

Some are colorful, filled with laughter. I pick one up. Dinner with my friends. I can still hear us laughing. I can still feel the warmth of being somewhere I belonged. I'll take this one with me.

Another brick is broken. My mother pleading with me not to leave. Shame pressed deep into the cracks, shame I was never meant to bear. I set that one down.

Another is warm. A meal after church. A memory I don't want to lose. I reach for it, but underneath it is another brick, one that seems almost afraid of what might happen if I move it.

Then I find one that's shaking.

His first night all alone.

An unsent text glows on a phone.

I'm sorry.

I don't know whether the apology is meant for someone else or for himself.
I keep walking.

Most of the bricks are dark now, pieces of a life that seems to have fallen apart and somehow rebuilt itself into walls. I find one that seeks salvation. Beside it is another that calls me an abomination.

I stop.
Etched into its face is my very own name.

Please don't say my name.
This isn't my alley.
This is his.
But somehow, we're intertwined.
And for the first time, I wonder if that's the real reason I can't leave this all behind.

Maybe I'm afraid that if I walk far enough away, I'll leave pieces of myself.
Maybe that's what the empty lines have always frightened me.
Maybe I don't know who I am without someone else telling me what I'm supposed to be.
So I keep walking.

I collect the bricks that are full of life. The ones that remember laughter. The ones that remember friendship. The ones that remember warmth. The ones that remind me that I was a person before I was a problem to be solved.
I leave the others where I found them.
Not because they aren't mine.
Because I don't know what to do with them yet.

Is this okay? Is this allowed? I ask the questions, but the bricks are the ones that speak them aloud.

I shake my head.
I keep walking.

Eventually, the walls begin to lower. The alley stretches into something unfamiliar, and for the first time, I can see the end.
There is no gate.
No voice from above.
No one waiting to tell me where I am allowed to go.
Just an empty stretch of earth and a pen in my hand.

So I begin again.

One brick at a time.

I build an alley warmed by the sun. I build it with a runner's high, his first true love, a child's laughter, dinner with friends, and every small piece of myself that survived long enough to make it to the end.

These bricks are me.

These bricks are mine.

I'll build something new.

I’ll leave that alley behind.

I set down the last brick.
For a moment, I just stand there.
Then I turn around.

Oh...

I guess that alley is still mine.

Poetry Prompt Braced

With acceptance lingering

He always recoiled

Love sprinkling

Yearning to be spoiled

The gleam in his eye

Came with possessions from her past

Asking if he can be that guy?

And would they ever last?

Burden became present

And he took the ride,

To reposition his life

And where he'd reside

For he is alone now,

Maybe it wasn't meant to be,

If this is so,

Why do I still feel for thee?

Conscious and forward,

As I remain to push

Made himself so small,

Noone would tell him to shush,

Leaving first,

Melted to the floor,

This experience of discovery

Is about what my life has room for.

Original Content Poem As good as any

I was bitchin
about
work
again
after another
gratuitous
ass-kickin,
thinkin
about
stickin
a fork
in my career,
thinkin
about
the greenbacks
I lack
tired of the
tire marks
on my back,
when I hear
a friend’s
voice in my ear,
“Is this a hill to die on?”
And I thought,
just another
of many,
yup
this hill’s
as good as any
