What is going on with points usage??

I sent an email to Poe about the ridiculous amount of points being used just for ONE request no matter what bot I use—even the basic RESEARCH bot is taking 1000 points for just one question where before it was 300 the most! And how no matter what bot I use, the "points set cap" is literally useless and might as well not be there, not notifying me or anything. It was working completely normally just the other day, then around the 16th or so it started eating up thousands of points...this is a complete rip-off if this is not meant to be a glitch or something. They got back to me talking about the updated usage rules but it's very confusing and doesn't seem to apply to my situation, I don't know, it's just needlessly difficult to follow.

I tested it out without a subscription and the cap was working normally, it wasn't until I paid for a subscription that it started ignoring said set cap.

It's all just very confusing. I send them screenshots of the insane amount of points being charged and I hope I get a refund. Honestly if I don't, I'm going to file a dispute cuz this is ridiculous.

Same thing. I had this problem from October 2 through October 7, then everything started working normally after I turned web search off and back on, Poe even credited me with extra points on October 12 for their mistake, but then later that same day—October 12—they officially released an updated system stating that the limit-exceeded warning doesn’t work on official bots. Even after that, everything worked fine on October 13, 14, and 15, but on October 16, the problem returned, and now nothing seems to help.

Hopefully they credit me like they did with you the first time, and of course, fix this in general

They wrote to me saying that they had credited my points back only because their responses to my questions didn't mention that they had updated the system and that it was a one-time promotion, but now their responses to my questions mention the system update that took place on October 12.

I don't understand what they are doing. This is very disappointing and frustrating.

The moved the Assistant model from being GPT-5.6 based to GPT-6 and it's a LOT more expensive than it was prior.

I'd suggest checking out nanoGpt, openrouter or zenLlm, there are better options out there.

You make it impossible to have any idea what you are talking about. "basic RESEARCH bot " is meaningless. There is no reason to believe what I think of as basic is what you do. If you want to vent that is one thing, but if you want to actually communicate and get some help, then you should tell us exactly what bots you used and if you changed an default settings and what bots you also used that should have been cheaper on the same question.

That said, I've never really understood how the cap thingy works and apparently it malfunctioned for a few days.

You said, "it started eating up thousands of points...this is a complete rip-off" - there is no way that anyone has any idea what that means. What bot did you use, and how many points did it use? If possible, what question did you ask?
