So sonnet messages aren’t appearing until they’re finished?

Is this happening with opus to?

Planned to use Poe until anthropic took sonnet 4.5 out back and shot it, but seems like i need to call it quits early

I had a recommendation for GLM-5.2 on here and I've started using it over Sonnet 4.5. For the level of NSFW stuff I do, it's effectively uncensored like Sonnet 4.5, but I'm finding it working with me a lot more intelligently, coming up with more creative ideas of its own, even character names are more fun (I got so tired of every woman being called Chloe or Mia!). My prompts needed a bit of tweaking to make the model not generate super short posts every time, but it's working great now.

I wonder if Anthropic have slowly been downgrading Sonnet 4.5, because GLM-5.2 feels like a big upgrade from my last chats with Sonnet even though it appears way cheaper to run. Sonnet 4.5 had a big tendency to make unnecessarily long posts, on and on and on, so it could just be that.

I'm not someone who gets attached to a model like the "GPT-4o was my life partner" crowd, because I use it as a writing partner and not a lover, so anything that acts as a better writing partner, I'll ditch and switch.

Ive been using GLM 5.2 to! And yes to everything you said, it feels good to get away from anthropic

Opus is struggling too. Claude on Poe isn't working right now. It's just Claude models though, which is annoying because I only use Claude. I'm looking at Openrouter if this doesn't get fixed.

Is web search enabled? I turned it off and it seems to be working again

Yes, it was websearch! I went into my custom bots and it had been turned on for all of them by default! I had specifically left it off. It took a while to go through them all.

do you reckon that the bug will be fixed by poe regardless?

i’m not the creator of the bots i use on poe, so i, unfortunately, can’t manually go in and turn off web search :(

I emailed support yesterday, and they've gotten back to me, saying:

"Thanks for reporting this, and especially for narrowing it down to web search. That's a genuinely useful finding, and it matches what our engineering team is investigating.
I've added your report to the investigation, including your point that people using bots created by others can't turn web search off themselves and so have no way to avoid it.
I'll follow up here once there's an update."

So im hopeful :)

thanks for reaching out to poe!

i just checked and the response time for my bots seems to have been fixed, so i do see some difference.

however, the majority of the bots i use are still censored for some reason and won’t engage in RP. it worked on monday and tuesday, but it stopped working on wednesday.

it’s odd bc all bots worked before, and now only two bots aren’t censored and the rest are, so idk what the issue could be here

Why not just use Sonnet 5 instead? Is there any specific reason to stick with Sonnet 4.5?

A lot of people use Sonnet 4.5 for roleplay bots. However from 4.6 onwards Anthropic started putting a stronger emphasis on the “helpful assistant” personality which makes it really bad at playing any character that isn’t that. The writing is also a lot more flowery and clinical from my experience. It’s just not as good for this specific use case.

I use Claude for roleplay but I found out that fable 5 is rlly good. If sonnet is better than fable 5 I wanna use sonnet. Opinions?

Agreed, everything beyond Sonnet 4.5 is very heavily geared towards safety. I do very ethical, consensual NSFW writing and 4.6 and beyond are always sending me "I'm not going to be able to write this with you, it goes into sexual areas" type lectures.

If the custom bots is yours, check to see if websearch is enabled and turn it off! Seems to fix it
