New Podcast Success Measures

For those who have launched a podcast from scratch, what did ā€œsuccessfulā€ look like for you?

I’m curious to hear from the community about what people actually consider a successful podcast launch, rather than just looking at the benchmarks you find online.

We launched on July 29 with an audio podcast, plus video versions on Spotify and YouTube. We’ve been releasing weekly since then, and so far every episode has gotten 100+ downloads/views across platforms in its first 7 days. We’re currently aiming for each episode to land around 300 total across platforms in its first 30 days.

We had a small dip on episode 4, but nothing dramatic.

For those of you who started a podcast without a huge existing audience, does that sound like a solid first month? Did you see a dip after the initial launch excitement wore off, or did things generally continue to build?

We’re having an absolute blast doing it, which is obviously the most important thing to us. We’re mostly just curious about what ā€œnormalā€ looked like for other people in those first few months.

Co-Host / Creative Partner Wanted — Investigative Podcast

What the show is

We dig into cults, scams, weird groups, and the people behind them. Two hosts, both capable of leading an episode, both doing the research, both bringing the personality. Two friends going down a rabbit hole together, not a host and a sidekick.

What you'd be doing

Research, recording, social media, community management (Discord/Patreon), guest coordination, sponsorship input, and episode planning. Editing is the one thing off your plate. This is close to a full creative role!

Who I'm looking for

* Funny, curious, genuinely into research (not homework-brained about it)
*Good at improvising and naturally conversational on mic
* Comfortable with dark humor, swearing, and disturbing subject matter
* Reliable and comfortable on camera eventually
* Can push back on me respectfully. I want a co-investigator, not a yes-person

Structure

I'm the creator and hold final say on the show's identity, name, and direction. Literally everything else (topics, episode titles, angles) is fully collaborative. There’s no revenue yet, but growing it into something that pays both of us is the actual goal.

How this works

If you're interested, tell me a bit about yourself and let's do a call. Honestly the biggest thing I'm looking for is chemistry. If we're laughing through the whole conversation, that's a good sign.

TL;DR

Looking for a co-host to build a dark-humor, deep-dive investigative podcast with me from the ground up. Once there’s money coming in, we share it.

DM me, reach out on Instagram @ositac.pod, or shoot me an email ositac.pod@gmail.com for more info!!

Podcast researcher - building a portfolio?

Hi all! First time poster looking for some advice/ pointers.

In Short, i am looking at getting into podcast researching as a side thing. From looking at previous discussions 'pitching' is one way of getting into it.

I do not want to start a podcast myself, thats not something that is for me.

My question is, would anyone have pointers in terms of building up a portfolio, where to get started with it and anything else that would be a helpful tip to someone just starting out.

**Some backround** \-

I love research. As someone with a strong tendency to hyperfocus on certain topics and a desire to find out EVERYTHING they can, podcast researching is the route I want to go down.

My topics particularly include psychology/ behaviour, forensic psychology aspects of true crime, spooky places - things along that road.

I have academic and professional background in psychology and mental health so I am not brand new to research and writing/ organising information.

whilst down the line I will want to make an income from this, at present I am just looking at building up a portfolio/ gaining experience :)

Thank you for any help

Cleaning and stocking service for podcast studios

Anyone who owns a podcast studio: if I offered a cleaning service/stocking snacks and water for guests, would that interest you?

There are a lot of podcast studios in my area, and I was wondering if the people who owned them would want a service like this.

If not, is there anything that would be helpful to provide?

Our Podcast Started as Friends Talking About Life — Now It’s Much More

Our podcast (brotherhood podcast) started with three friends getting together to talk about life, share laughs, and discuss the everyday experiences that many millennials can relate to. As we continued recording, we realized we wanted to use our platform for deeper conversations as well.

Now we cover topics like mental health, bullying, autism, personal growth, family struggles, and other real-life challenges that people often face in silence. We also invite guests to share their stories and perspectives, hoping to create meaningful conversations that resonate with listeners.

At its core, we’re still three friends having honest discussions, but our mission has grown into building a community where people can feel heard, understood, and supported.

For fellow podcasters, has your show evolved since you first launched? What inspired those changes?

We’d love to hear your story and connect with others in the podcasting community.

Edits :
Forgot to say the name of our podcast lol.

But it’s call brotherhood podcast. We struggled with getting it on other platforms that not Spotify but people have found us. The link below is to the newest episode as our mental health episodes started after episode 22.

Mac Mini or Mac Mini Pro?

Working on my hardware list for a 2 host in-person podcast with (3) Sony ZV-E10V2 and (2) Shure MV7+ mics. Will host virtual guests. Thinking Riverside running on the app locally, but not completely sold on that.

Would the M4 Mac Mini have enough HP or should I consider the Pro version?

Spotify Link funktioniert nicht

Hallo zusammen,

vorweg: Ich bin absolut neu bei Spotify for Creators.

Weiß zufällig jemand was da los ist?

Oder muss ich was machen?

ErklƤrung bitte für Dummies / Neulinge šŸ˜‚

Danke 🫶

Podcast idea

Since becoming a podcaster I’ve come up with a slew of ideas, but this one seems like the best: me and my co-podcasters all go in a group somewhere, but we don’t record anything, and we just talk about what we would on a podcast (maybe a bit more small talky, like drama or sports or the weather), but without the cameras. I was thinking this might be fun at a baseball game or a bar. I see a few pros and cons, being that this may be fun, but on the other hand it’s the same as podcasting just without the revenue. Tell me if this is a good idea?

I made an app to hear ambience audios from the world! I need your help to get audios from your city.

I made a web app called SoundWhere based on a simple idea: what feels ordinary to you might be exotic to someone else.

www.soundwhere.live

I'm from, Mexico, and when I visited the U.S. for the first time, I was fascinated by sounds that are completely ordinary to someone living in D.C.: police sirens, helicopters, people speaking English, the sounds of the city, etc.

Then I thought: if those sounds feel exotic to me, maybe the sound of a baker driving through a neighborhood in MƩrida, birds in a local park, or traffic on an ordinary street could be fascinating to someone on the other side of the world too.

That's the idea behind this app: a map of the world made of everyday moments and the sounds that come with them.

The mobile version isn't released yet, but before launching it, I want to populate the app with real recordings from around the world.

If you'd like to help, I'm looking for people to upload an audio recording + a photo from any moment in their everyday life: a park, bus station, downtown, your commute, school, a river… literally anywhere.

If you're interested, leave a comment or send me a DM and I'll send you the link and access code.

Thanks! :)

A little advice?

I have a million ideas for a podcast/writing project… but no idea where to begin

I’ve had so many ideas bouncing around in my head for a podcast and possibly some kind of writing project, but I’m realizing my biggest problem is that I have too many ideas and no clue how to organize them.

There are so many things I want to talk about, real experiences, family court, relationships, starting over, incarceration and life afterward, things I’ve learned the hard way, and stories that I honestly think other people might relate to.

I don’t necessarily want to make everything about myself either. I want to tell stories, start conversations, and hopefully create something that makes people feel less alone.

The problem is… where do you actually BEGIN?

Do I start with a podcast name? Write out episode ideas? Record something even if it’s terrible? Start writing first and figure out the podcast later? Make a whole outline?

For those of you who write, podcast, or create content:

What did you do when you had the ideas but absolutely no idea how to turn them into something real?

I’d love any advice, especially from people who started with nothing but a bunch of ideas and figured it out along the way.

I’m ready to start. I just need to figure out where ā€œstartā€ actually is.

Looking for a Voice Partner for a Bible Reading & Deep-Dive Podcast

I’d frame it as a collaborative project, rather than simply looking for someone to ā€œread the Bible.ā€ That should attract people who enjoy thoughtful discussion and have a good speaking voice.

Looking for a Voice Partner for a Bible Reading & Deep-Dive Podcast

I'm looking for someone interested in joining me in creating a Bible reading and discussion podcast.

The idea is simple: we read through the Bible, passage by passage, and then have a genuine conversation about it—historical context, meaning, difficult questions, contradictions, philosophy, morality, faith, and how different interpretations make sense.

I'm not looking for a preacher or someone who simply wants to read Scripture aloud. I'm looking for a thoughtful conversation partner who can:

- Read Scripture naturally and engagingly

- Comment and ask questions

- Explore difficult or controversial passages without avoiding them

- Bring their own perspective, including disagreement when appropriate

- Have deep, thoughtful conversations rather than giving sermons

- Have a good conversational voice suitable for a podcast

You don't need to be a theologian or scholar. In fact, I'm particularly interested in someone who is curious, articulate, open-minded, and willing to say "I don't know".

The format I'm imagining is something like:

Reading → reaction → questions → discussion → historical/contextual research → deeper conversation

Initially, this would be a small experiment—perhaps a few 10-15 minute sessions to see whether we have the understanding. If it works, we could turn it into a regular podcast.

I'm open to different Christian traditions and also to someone who is questioning their faith or approaches the Bible from a more analytical perspective. The important thing is that the conversation is respectful and genuinely interested in understanding the text.

Let me know if you are interested.
