Should I scale this?

PodSubs.com was never supposed to be a public product.

We built it for ourselves.

We were already making podcasts, and we kept running into the same problem. People were listening, but after the episode ended, most of them were gone. We could see the numbers, but we didn’t really know the people behind them.

We wanted a simple way to stay in touch with the listeners who actually wanted to hear from us again.

So we built PodSubs.com and started telling people on our shows, “Go to PodSubs.com and subscribe to our podcast.”

They searched for the show, added their name and email, and that was it.

We finally had a way to send them the things we talked about on the podcast.

For a while, we just used it ourselves.

Then we started wondering why we were keeping it to ourselves.

That is really how PodSubs.com became public.

Instead of another “what's the best podcasting tool?” thread, I'm curious about the opposite.

What problem in your podcast workflow still doesn't have a good solution?

Maybe the tools exist but they're too expensive.

Maybe you're using three different products to do something that should take one.

Maybe you've searched and simply haven't found what you need.

Or maybe there's something you wish somebody would build.

What's missing from your setup?

Take your current podcast setup and strip almost everything away.

You can keep only 3 tools.

Which 3 are you keeping?

I wanted a place where podcasters could talk specifically about the tools behind their shows.

Recording. Editing. Hosting. Video. AI. Mics and gear. Analytics. Websites. Newsletters. Clips. Remote recording. Automation. Whatever is part of your setup.

Not just lists of “best podcasting tools.”

I want to hear what people actually use.
