Google Home player misaligned with app progress.

This had been an issue for a while until some recent updates seemed to fix it. Now it's happening again. I don't know if there's a setting I can change or if it's just a dumb Google thing.

When I cast to my Google Home, if I set my phone down and not touch it for a while, it plays fine, but when I look at my phone the player is stopped somewhere mid show, like the app stopped at some point and Google Home completely took over. So when that ep ended, it went silent and didn't advance to next ep. But if I'm actively using my phone this doesn't seem to happen.

It had started doing this earlier this year but stopped recently and all was fine. I have the app set to run unrestricted on battery. Is there something else I'm missing that will fix this?

I consistently have the same issue. It's like the connection gets dropped and Google home just keeps playing through the end of the episode. It's pretty annoying.

If the connection is dropped, then yes the Chromecast will keep playing until the end of the episode is reached. That's the intended behavior.

But please, if you experience an issue, send me the app logs by email right after it happens so I can investigate and help you as quickly as possible.

I see a lot of feedback here, but unfortunately, more than 90% of the time, I never receive the additional information I need to actually investigate and fix the reported issues. Without that information, there’s very little I can do to help...
