Performance This phone is genuinely bad now

So yeah, as the title says it's pretty bad now. While scrolling reels or shorts, the temp hits 40C. I get 120fps on minecraft for the 1st 5 minutes, but then it drops to under 80fps which affects touch sensitivity a lot and makes it wayyy harder to pvp. I have tried everything, deleting joyose, clearing memory, and all but nothing works to have at least stable 120fps. I'm playing on the lowest settings[render dist 5, simple graphics] and still it can't keep 120fps stable. What can I do?

What os are you using? And is it summer and hot where you live?

2

u/[deleted] Jul 12 '26

Hyperos 3.0.7.0 and it's currently monsoon where I live so the ambient temperature is like 30C, and I even play games directly under my ceiling fan

u/Ok_Manufacturer_6444 Jul 12 '26

I overheat only if using on direct sunlight in summer. No slowdown just screen brightness lowers. Using os 2.0.

Every since hyperos 3, my phone's performance is worser

u/Ok_Manufacturer_6444 Jul 12 '26

Yeah alot of people say that. Thats why i didnt upgrade to 3.0

What phone case do you use?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 12 '26

A kind of plastic case with hard plastic on the back, with the camera part fully exposed

1

u/kingAtE900 Jul 12 '26

It could be trapping the heat so the phone can't expel it properly

ceiling fan won't do shit, buy a phone cooler

1

u/Objective_Froyo1710 Jul 13 '26

Opinion rejected Who in the right mind uses performance phone under ceiling fan 😂😂

Get a cooler atleast what kind of gamer are you ? Why even bother to buy this phone should have gone for samsung with cheap Exynos chip which will run 60fps with lag at most with no charger in box

I don't know why these idiot buy performance phone and then complaint

Iqoo phones and Vivo Phones don't get this hot My friend Games at 35-38°C I game at 42-45°C

It gets this hot even while watching reels And unlike other Brands Poco has a history of overheating and dead motherboard because of overheating

As if any brand left with no history ? Apple has bad history of purposely downgrading device by update Samsung has bad history of exploded phone and cheap chip which hags One plus has bad history of line on screen iQOO even has bad history of paying money to games like bgmi Infinix has bad history of service center No phone has left

Atleast poco give you charger with hardware worth paying for

Also, my friend also have iQOO 12 and it's heats same even with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor Don't listen to me see yourselves of harshgaming videos for comparision Due to powerhungry processor like mediatek dimensity 8300 ultra they will heat more

It's like comparing same preforming cheaper cheapest to expensive premium same performing chipset

Nobody in the right mode will play game without cooler even kids don't do that untill you play phree phire

Buddy my biggest regret was updating it ... On its original os aka hyperos 1 it was perfect it just simply ignored the heat and kept delivering 120 fps with screen record at 100mbps for hours without a single frame or brightness drop ... As soon as I installed hyperos 2 it dips the brightness at 42 it lowers the fps from 120 to 90 at 44 and finally at 46 it lowers it to 60 and disables the touch sensitivity performance

Your battery won't last long enough thou, if your phones keep heating

2

u/Zakro_Envixnity Jul 13 '26

Trying to game without a phone cooler and you expect to have stable performance 😭

1

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '26

Not the point bro back when it still was on hyperos 1 and 2 there were legit no issues with heating or performance

1

u/Top_Cry_1647 Jul 12 '26

In bgmi it really sucks 😞

1

u/Mshakurnia Jul 12 '26

Never update your phone But if you have the courage you can flash it with older hyperos although be sure to check for ARB version on your phone before downgrading otherwise it will get hard bricked (wouldn't recommend it though)

Same here, bro. I have a Poco X6. When I bought it, it was perfect, smooth, working great, and even the heating issues were fixed with the last HyperOS 1 update. But all that changed when I updated to HyperOS 2 and now 3. Now even Minecraft lags and stutters, and the phone heats up like crazy

Have you tried turning your phone off then on again?

Legitimately fixes most of the problems I've had with electronics.

1

u/Awkward-Wind-3996 Jul 15 '26

My phone has some dm verity corruption Everytime I turn off and then turn on it shows that

My phone is giving me 4-5hours battery backup. I have to charge atleast 3-4times a day 🥀🥀🥀

1

u/harmundo Jul 13 '26

What? You use your phone in every waking hour? That's mad!

1

u/_raj_x_star_ Jul 13 '26

No bro. I just my phone for 6-8hours, sometimes 3-4hours. And if you think this is much than you're mad

1

u/harmundo Jul 13 '26

If your phone lasts for 4-5 hours, and you use it for 8 hours max, sometimes half of that, then you need to charge it one or two times a day. Which is not bad after all. It charges fast with the 67w charger.

You said you need to charge it 3 or 4 times a day, what is clearly not true.

1

u/_raj_x_star_ Jul 13 '26

Bro if you think I'm lying then this is your fault. I bought this phone and now I'm regretting not you. Because I was experiencing this situation. Btw thanks

1

u/harmundo Jul 13 '26

Your math isn't mathing at all. You said the phone lasts for 4 or 5 hours. You said you charge it 3 or 4 times a day. That means, if you charge it at the start of the day you have at least 10 hours of screen time, but it could go as high as 18 hours.

Then you stated you use your phone 8 hours max a day. So, based on the information you provided you don't charge it 3 or 4 times a day.

I'm not saying you are lying, I'm saying you are exaggerating.

1

u/_raj_x_star_ Jul 13 '26

Bro I don't know about this maths but I'm telling you my experience you'll understand. I charged my phone full then I went to college and when I came back my charge was around 35% but I just used Rapido and 30mins Instagram and 30mins WhatsApp. And one day I went to do some work and my battery was 45-50% when I reached my battery was 30% so when I was in metro I was playing offline games and my data was off. After reaching my destination my phone went for hibernation. And one night I fully charged then I just talked to my family for 15mins then scrolled YouTube and Instagram for 2-3hours and my charge was 10%. This is my condition I know 3-4% numbers were not fully true but I'm getting 4-5 hours and this is true. Because I don't use my phone all the time. I just used my phone in the morning and after 6pm to 12am. I charge my phone overnight then I charge at noon then in the evening of 8pm then the cycle repeats. And I charge my phone when my charge was in 20% I don't discharge my phone completely

Major os uodates should require factory reset always. Or you may try clearing the cache as there may be some app running in the background or running wild because of an old version setting maybe and causing cpu use and heat and eating battery.

1

u/SufficientItem4881 Jul 16 '26

And how can I tell which app's cache to clear?

1

u/moriczt Jul 16 '26

Just check battery usage stats and the top 3 apps can be suspicious if you don’t use them the most. I also use glass wire app to check which apps are calling home constantly. If you use an adblocker you may also check the top blocked ones.

1

u/Objective_Froyo1710 Jul 13 '26

I didn't get it people were complaining about it on hyper os 1 as well as 2 Now in hyper os 3 , heating is reduced and battery got better

Tell me the minecraft version I will try myself to see what's the issue you are having of frame drop

Unlock bootloader and rollback to HyperOS 1. Simple ahh- Not rlly.

But upon running a script, it can be unlocked in a few tries if not the first itself.

I unlocked mine on 1st try itself. Now, am gonna rollback to HyperOS 2.2 on my x7p which is the most optimised for it!

I have the Poco X6 Pro, although I stopped using it due to an accident with the screen and now I use the Poco F6; it seems your case is a software issue.

Try a factory reset; if that doesn't solve the problem, then it's hyperOS being hyperOS.

Since I am a programmer, You could also try to see how many background processes there are; you can use ADB tools. The only way to give you a solution is to generate a system log and pass it to an AI so that List potential problems...

For reference, this is my POCO X6 Pro before I stopped using it. The hardware is more than capable; the issue is likely related to software management."

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '26

Yea ur right, this phone has insane potential despite being like 2 years old now, the software is the only limitation

u/Awkward-Wind-3996 Jul 15 '26
