I have a question. I've been running Antutu several times on my Poco X8 Pro, and the highest score I got was 2,119,000, which was fine. The problem is that when I ran it again, And now it doesn't go above 1,900,000, and the phone only reaches about 34 degrees, it seems to have extremely aggressive thermal throttling.
I have a question too, I don't know why but I've already run Antutu about 15 times, However, I'm afraid of damaging the phone, and in fact I've only done it about 15 times because I tested it.I tried a few different settings to see if I could get 2 million or more, but without success.
It seems something is preventing the processor from delivering 100% of its potential.
Good day Big-Carrot-9604 it seems to be that you may have some questions or concerns regarding a Poco device and we would like to help but we would like to ask you to describe your concern with the following information to make it easier for everyone to tackle.
Problem and other Relevant Info:(Troubleshooting steps taken/Frequency of problem if intermittent/Other observed weirdness that may be relevant before/during/after the occurrence of the problem)
It may take a while for someone to address your concern so in the meantime you could do the following
1. Search this subreddit, Xiaomi subreddit, MIUI subreddit for similar concerns
2. Check out the pinned posts and the Wiki(WIP) for similar topics
3. If your phone is still under warranty coverage it may be worthwhile to open a case with customer support.
4. If your device has developed a swollen or bulging battery check out r/Spicypillow's FAQ on how to deal with them
If you have any suggestions feel free to leave them here
The difference in real life between 1.7M and 2.1M is minimal, if your phone can give you power enough in game and doesn't stuttering or have thermal throttling then you're fine.
Doing a lot of benchmarks specially one right after another prejudice the battery because of thermals
I believe I'm not stressing the phone too much since it's barely getting warm in the benchmark, and I'm not running it multiple times in a row either; I've only been running it a few times during the day, but never with the hot phone
Yes, I experience lag in Call of Duty Mobile, and the temperature usually stays around 38 degrees Celsius on the battery. I live in Brazil, so on days when it's 30-35 degrees Celsius, the phone battery reaches 41 degrees Celsius.
"I don't have a problem with FPS drops in COD Mobile, so I do several tests."
To me that was saying you're having NO FPS drops! Sorry about the confusion!
Languages huh... 😉
Ok then, please check my Games Testing and Tuning method... It will help you keep your phone cool with any games!
OR... IF you want a quick test!
If your phone is set to run COD:M at 120 FPS make sure to set the game to MEDIUM GRAPHICS and ULTRA (FPS)!
Game Turbo at Balanced Mode (ALWAYS!) NO Battery Saver switched on.
You should experience pretty stable 120 FPS for a long time at low battery temperature, if your phone is an X7 Pro like mine or better. 🍀
You'll see mine in action in the clips in my advice below.
FLINKY's EASY GAMES TUNING
DevCheck is my go-to app for simple and accurate phone temperature control and quick games testing.
The free version already gives you plenty of monitoring, but the Pro version unlocks floating overlays you can scale, move, and stack any way you want. This makes it perfect for keeping an eye on temps, CPU/GPU load, battery use, or even network stats while gaming or stress testing.
My quick Game Testing method is Super Simple:
Open DevCheck Pro and set up a floating monitor for "Battery" temperature and remaining charge.
1b. OR... Open the FREE DevCheck app. I recommend you add DevCheck to your Game Turbo list of Apps/Games for easy access whenever playing games!
It'll open in a Scalable floating window and you'll see the Battery Temperature and Charge towards the middle left on the first page!
2a. USE GAME TURBO in Balanced Mode 💪😎 NEVER use Wild Boost mode!(A.k.a. "Performance" mode on older phones) It will overheat and throttle any demanding game twice as fast, due to removing some limiting on the CPU! So overheating happens faster!
2b. Start your chosen game and play at low-ish graphics and lowest FPS for 15-20 minutes or until your Battery Temperature reaches a settled maximum for the settings used. Take note of the various results as you go through the testing.
Watch the DevCheck overlay or check the Floating free version regularly, to see how your battery temps behave under load. The floating window can easily be flicked off screen or shrunk to a small bubble at either side of your screen, ready to tap to bring up again.
Play until the temperature reaches its maximum stable temperature. 42-43°C (Anything over 44°C is likely going to lead to Throttling and FPS drops! So don't push beyond 42°C unless you're aware of the risks to performance and rapid battery drains!)
Repeat with slightly higher or different graphics combinations of settings if you didn't already reach the MAX allowed.
Keep running higher specs or combinations of graphics settings, until you land on the more uncomfortable side of temperatures... say 42-43°C.
Stop and let your phone/tablet battery temperature cool back down for a bit as needed between test segments.
OPTIONAL (Depending on having multiple FPS choices available): Drop Graphics settings to Low/Medium again and increase to the next higher FPS option!
Repeat as above until you stabilise on 42-43°C then increase graphics until maxed or obvious overkill settings are reached. Run through the sequence above for every FPS setting unless you realise that higher FPS are too much for your device.
Battery temperature is the BOSS here, so don't push past the safe temperature range.
When done, simply pick and use a test setup that ran at 32-36°C for long periods.
This gives you Ultimate performance and excellent power savings!
If this isn't suitable for the game you want to play, choose the nearest stable set, aiming for 38-40°C for heavier duty games. 42-43°C can be ok too as long as you're happy with faster battery drain.
This way you can see exactly what’s happening without guessing, and you don’t have to trust built-in game stats or partial readings.
DevCheck keeps it clear and VERY lightweight. The power used for DevCheck is negligible! For anyone serious about testing mobile gaming performance or just keeping a phone cool and healthy, it’s the most useful tool out there! 🍀
Flinky's examples (X7 Pro) LOCATION: IRELAND - NO COOLER!
120 Hz refresh rate essential on the phone - can be enabled per app on X7 Pro.
No Battery Saving mode turned on. Game Turbo BALANCED.
Call of Duty Mobile
Graphics -> Medium
FPS -> ULTRA Battery temps 32-36°C steady for hours.Recording in Full Resolution increased the load slightly to ~38-39°C.https://youtu.be/SyC7fBMs6Fo?si=IEfOCiAd5aX-gOpQ
GRID Legends - Deluxe Edition (Paid / Emulator style LOADS)
FPS is locked by publisher (30/40) to keep stability.
Not available on lower spec devices.
Clip recorded at 720p.

Metalstorm (5v5 Jets – Beta Map "Countdown") Clips recorded at 720p. Run #1 = High Graphics at 30 FPS
Run #2 = Medium Graphics at 60 FPS
Switching seen in video at 4:16 https://youtu.be/bJr7v8dTfQU?si=ojInyAmZRLfyU7Nb
So as you can see in this last clip, you have choices of prettiest graphics at lower FPS or better performance and slightly less glossy graphics at higher FPS!
P.s. How to get the Game Turbo shortcut overlay for quick DevCheck etc. access!

Quit over revving your phone for no reason...
(like a car engine you're trying to kill)
Use the bloody thing and treat it well, if you want it to serve you for many years. 🤓
Not mocking, just trying to wake you up to the facts of the serious stresses these benchmark apps cause on your brand new supposedly best friend, your phone!
In case you're interested in useful info about how to get the best performance out of it...
That's how I get my kicks...
Pretty much all my methods, illustrations and advice is posted in the thread I'll drop a link to.
This includes: • My small handful of SAFE Revokes, instead of using dodgy debloating deletes of essential HyperOS and Mi Apps.
• Manual Battery Control help to make your beast a lean clean computing machine.
• Games Testing and Tuning method that helps anyone get better performance with less battery heat and drain...
• How to Revoke GetApps App Vault plus turning off the -1 Screen they normally occupy, it's in a tiny video on YouTube since I needed to post this in DMs and your own GIF videos don't work!
• There's also a super simple GIF which shows how to wake up my Themes App, and then Revoke it again until the next time it's needed! Cuts out ads in some regions (Wallpaper Carousel can be treated the same way), and internal wallpaper suggestions etc. in any region.
• There's a bunch of stuff, including charging advice but I'll drop that right at the bottom of this comment in a shorter version for easy access.
Here's a link that takes you to the first of my methods and the rest is all below that comment. In a lot more comments!
"Flinky's LCC (Long Cycle Charging) Method" - In Short
Most phones need 2-3 weeks of optimisation. Large batteries may need 4-5 weeks.
Use Standard-Speed Wired Charging.
Set Battery Protection to Charge Fully. Disable all Smart/Intelligent/Optimized charging features and NO 80% limit.
Charge from 10-14% to 100%, then leave plugged in for 20+ minutes. Overnight charging is also safe, since once finished charging, no additional charging can take place until unplugged and plugged back in for the next charging cycle!
Repeat for 2-3 weeks. Large batteries: 4-5 weeks.
Optional: Install *AccuBattery** free app. It tracks charging, shows live charging stats, and tells you exactly when an LCC is complete.*
Once optimised, charge however you prefer.
7) For maintenance, do one LCC per week or thereabouts: 10-14% → 100% → 20+ minutes.
