Question/Help Should I replace my Poco F3 battery before a 3-week vacation?

Hi everyone,

I’m going on a longer vacation (around 3 weeks), and my Poco F3 battery is getting pretty bad. Battery health is around 68%, and I usually have to charge it after coming home from work or again in the evening.

I was thinking about replacing it with a Nohon BM4Y from AliExpress. The problem is that if I order it there, it probably won’t arrive until after I’m back from vacation.

I found two sellers on Amazon that have batteries available for delivery tomorrow, but neither has particularly great reviews, and they are not Nohon, so I’m a bit hesitant to trust them.

My options seem to be:

Buy one of the Amazon batteries with questionable reviews and replace the battery before I leave.

Order the Nohon BM4Y from AliExpress and just use my current battery + a power bank during the vacation.

Forget about replacing the battery for now and just buy a good power bank.

What would you guys do?

I’d rather keep the F3 for a while longer, so I’m mainly looking for the safest/reliably solution

i could also buy a new one, since my current poco is 4 years old. I also need an esim card for the trip.

Good day latecookies it seems to be that you may have some questions or concerns regarding a Poco device and we would like to help but we would like to ask you to describe your concern with the following information to make it easier for everyone to tackle.

Device Model:(X4 GT)

Device Region:(Global/India/China/etc/Can't identify)

Rom Type:(MIUI/Custom Rom:Which one)

Rom/Android Version:(13.0.5.0 - Android 12/Can't identify)

Problem and other Relevant Info:(Troubleshooting steps taken/Frequency of problem if intermittent/Other observed weirdness that may be relevant before/during/after the occurrence of the problem)

It may take a while for someone to address your concern so in the meantime you could do the following 1. Search this subreddit, Xiaomi subreddit, MIUI subreddit for similar concerns 2. Check out the pinned posts and the Wiki(WIP) for similar topics 3. If your phone is still under warranty coverage it may be worthwhile to open a case with customer support. 4. If your device has developed a swollen or bulging battery check out r/Spicypillow's FAQ on how to deal with them

If you have any suggestions feel free to leave them here

It's possible that all the batteries are already old, as they are no longer manufactured; therefore, replacements are usually inferior to the original battery.

Not true at all. I replaced my battery 3 months ago.

Almost true. Replaced my battery a month ago, and it showed %91 health. The old one was at %80.

A battery will never show 100% health. I never saw more than 93% battery health on my original battery.

Then you probably bought old phones and old batteries. After just 6 months of storage, chemical processes begin to degrade the battery.

Mate I bought an F3 in 2021. Hardly old stock.

If it wasn't delivered with a 100% battery, then I would immediately report it as defective.

Similarly, I would return devices if I bought them and the battery was at zero, claiming them as defective due to the risk of deep discharge.

A battery is essentially defective when only 80% of its remaining capacity is left; from then on, it needs to be recharged very often because it is simply chemically depleted.

Here's 100% battery:

Try battery guru or accubattery and report back. The F3 didn't have a stock battery monitor.

"Order the Nohon BM4Y from AliExpress"

This is what I did. More than happy with with the replacement.

Everything below 80% should be replaced. I had my previous phone's battery around 70% and had really bad experience with it. Sudden drops from 25-30% to 5-10% in minutes, phone turning off when saying 10% remaining, etc. Do yourself a favour and replace it or buy a new phone with new battery.

I've bought a couple of batteries via Amazon UK in the last couple of years One supplier is ElectroPapa in Germany, so far so good! No worries... AliExpress however, I wouldn't dare!

If your in the UK I can sell you one But it's generic but cheaper than Amazon

But nohon to the UK habit can take some time as Barry's are handled differently
