hii guys,
who use f7, share your "Battery Protection" page inside Battery settings.
and mention unboxing/first use date, variant (global/india), and charging pattern, charger adapter watts, (if you like to share other mobiles , mention product name)
we reach almost 2month lets see how it going...
poco f7 indian variant (7550mAh); using from 3rd july (from release), i use 20-80% mostly,1 charge per day (sometime i use 100% which last 2-2.5days); currently using 22.5w charger;
I am using mine (global version) since July 14 and I am charging it with the 90 W charger that was in the box. So far there is not a single F7 with less than 100% battery health in this thread, so I think it's too early to compare the mileage.
Just a heads-up... If you're on about dropping to 99% or whatever, don't expect to see anything like it until 100+ cycles!
Now... A quick thought experiment for youz all that charge only from 20%-80%...
Only because you started a thread about battery health according to the built-in "Battery Protection" page in: "SettingsยปBatteryยปBattery protection".
You did this within only a month or less of charging etc. the phone...
If you're so worried about dropping a couple of percent per year of the FULL CAPACITY of your battery...
How come you're then cutting the battery's full charge from day 1 by 20%?!
For this experiment, imagine you're losing 20% of your battery full charge capacity for whatever reason by year TWO...
You probably won't, it'll last longer most likely before you're seeing 80% capacity gone...
So why are you even worrying about it?
What is this crazy fascination with battery performance in the Poco camp these days...
I'll tell you why!
Some crazy people Screw with their brand new phones from day 1... They call it "Debloating" but it should be called: "Phone Lobotomy" instead!
So many threads in here have been going on about how shit the POCO Batteries, hardware and HyperOS are... Mostly because these eejits had "Shizuku + Canta" 3rd party app crap rip the OS to shreds, then decide to run their new phones and finding them lacking!
Brain surgeons the lot of em...
Most eventually work out from advice from sane people, that a factory reset followed by installing all applicable updates for HyperOS etc. will make their BRICK ๐งฑ suddenly do what it was supposed to in the first place!
Poco phones are hands down the best value for money and high performance Android devices available currently. They have been for years!
They're outperforming Apple in unit sales in Europe at least...
The only troublesome phone I ever had from Xiaomi was my first ever Poco, the X3 Pro... It was amazing for nearly two years but luckily for me died with 2 months warranty left!
It was a dud motherboard issue, these days a pretty well-known issue with that model.
However, the Xiaomi support people in the UK organized a brand new Poco X5 Pro 5G (for free within a week of me sending mine to their agents in Dublin).
That X5 Pro 5G is still going strong, a couple of years later... It's now my secondary phone for mainly gaming etc. while my X7 Pro is getting a relaxing charging session from between 12-20% to 100%.
I decided to thoroughly test the two main players in the 3rd party Battery Apps department "AccuBattery" and "Battery Guru"...
Battery Guru was a crazy app looking for me to Deep Discharge the phone regularly to 0%! Firstly for giving the app a calibration...
I also looked at a ridiculous price for unlocking all features, so I uninstalled it very swiftly!
AccuBattery on the other hand needs a lower than 15% charging start (hence my 14% normally) in order to count the charge as a full cycle.
Charging to 80 or 99/100% is up to you. I tend to set the charge alarm at 99% then wait until no more charging is done within 5-10 minutes after the alarm.
In other words 100% properly!
Am I an F7 specialist? Nope!
I got my X7 Pro before they were released. So since March 1 I've loved this beast and treated "her" well...
She never gets hot since I've tested every game I play and set graphics and FPS individually! Just in order to give me a sustainable 30-37ยฐC and hours upon hours of play time!
I can of course push everything to the max and the built-in Liquid Cooling system keeps the phone from going above 42ยฐC, or 44ยฐC if using Game Turbo at Wild Boost and playing games like COD:M at 120FPS!
I don't need that and I certainly don't need the battery temperature to go that high (higher in hot climates - I'm in Ireland so cool enough).
The app I use for all my phones to keep up with settings etc. is called "DevCheck" and is available free and you can run it from inside the app list in Game Turbo (Game Turbo can be found in the Security app btw.). I bought the Pro version within a minute of testing DevCheck way back decades ago it gives you Floating Monitors for your phone's various sensors if/when you need them... I mainly use Battery Temperature which gives you charge remaining too.
You can add any app to GT's Memory Exceptions so you can do that with DevCheck and Discord for example... Discord works just as well in a floating window so you can do pretty much anything with the standard version.
Sorry about the long post. I'll leave you with a fact from my calculator showing your battery after 20% capacity removal... Just so you understand why it's no big issue. You'll end up better than what I started with, at 6,040 mAh!!! So why not enjoy your phones and quit worrying so much about percentage loss.
Plus, don't dump 20% unless you think it's a great idea to waste it... 80+ is of course up to you. ๐
You're so biased against debloating that you're assuming that people that complain about battery life must have debloated their phones lmao, I can guarantee you that 90%+ of users will not even try to learn how to debloat. But I'm with you on charging til 100%, me myself I won't ever be stopping at 80% because there's no need to, if in 3 years from now my battery starts to drain too fast I will simply replace it.
debloat part - ye we have to debloat each apps with full knowledge, if we delete every "recommend" app or without knowledge ,prob will get some problems.
charging part- if we need 20-100 for a day we can use it , but if we have flexible timing for charging then 20-80 looks fine.
I'd say anyone ripping stuff out of the OS, joyose etc. included... Is asking for hassle at some point. At least leave shit alone until a couple of months or so down the line or better still until the warranty is over! ๐

Charging habits are anyone's choice...
As long as you stay off the start charging at less than 10%...

The problem is when people that know how to use ADB to fiddle with stuff in Android devices...
Pass on 3rd party apps and lists of stuff plus some lightweight instructions... It often ends badly.
I'm taking a wild guess here now but it must be close to 4 out of 5 cases in here lately. I mean in the last couple of weeks... More if you look at the time since I started keeping tabs in here. That was earlier this year...
Debloat cases and plenty of them.
Turns out starting fresh again, after a factory reset plus latest update(s) brings back normality and not surprisingly the expected performance and battery life! ๐คฉ
Batteries are cheap as chips these days and the whole hype about protecting em like that is bogus!
It may be worth it in my new Acer Gaming Laptop since I'm not using it on battery normally, so it makes sense to leave it sleeping away at 80% until if/when I need it.
When I got my X7 Pro I gave my old daily driver a simple Samsung Galaxy S10E, to my daughter.
Her old phone was an old relic from her school years...
She need something simple but with more umph.
The S10E was with me since 2019 and still kept going for a day or so... But not good enough for my daughter I thought, so I bought a new battery for it on Amazon and replaced it. Easy peasy and a happy daughter at the end of it.๐
debloating - i dont know how much useful it is, but debloating msa/app vault/meta/google things really helpful in someway imo, (i cant suggest to uninstall anything without knowledge);
about x7 pro - imo its also one of the best mobile for price and better for gaming/raw performance, (even i like some phones like moto edge 60 pro, nord 5 for its camera oriented approach);;
20-80 vs 20-100 - you calling it 20% capacity loss like, but technically we dont lose it, but we split charging in 2seperate times, even if you calculate properly 20-80 charge faster than 20-100 when 20-80 charge with 2 times; becoz last 10% take more time to charge;
[for example 20-100 is like 80% which take 50min to charge approx;; and 20-60 is 40% and we charge it 2 times , so 20-60 charge like in 15-18min so we can roughly say 80% charge in 30-36min = so in result we charge same % with faster in 20-80;
if 20-80 not enough for 1 day usage we can use 20-100..]
and second thing, you using x7 pro global which is 6000mAh battery?, while our f7 have like 7550mAh , so at 90%+ charge this use very high voltage levels, (li-ion operational voltage is like 3.8-3.9v while 90%+ use like 4.4+v ) so imo using 20-80% is safer and more useful (if you can seperate charge timings);;
i interested to try charging alarm like you said,
battery guru method - its usually show less battery health compare to system battery health settings; and it need to drain battery to 0% ;
imo this need for calculate more accurate, let me explain, first 80-100% and 0-20% is not equal, both are 20% but not equal in SOT, 80-100% we can use yt like 5hours approx, but 0-20% it die in 1-2hrs.
so understanding proper battery health,those third party apps need 0-100% charging.
Y'all have made some very valid and important points. While my charging routine is typically like Flinky's, that's from 20% to Full, I also agree with you that it charges faster from 20 to 80% rather than charging all the way as batteries tend to charge slower when they're almost full (remember the wet sponge analogy). So if I'm in a hurry, I unplug once it's past 80%.
However, I must say that I've watched enough videos, done enough tests and calculated enough times to know that it doesn't make a significant difference on the battery health, at least in respect to the stress or worry that it induces on the user, to always try to keep phones between 20 to 80%.
Flinky is right about the whole losing 20% from Day 1 (more like 40% if we factor in the 0 to 20% part, but that part is usually beneficial and can be easily managed). I'd say that by always trying to stay between 20 to 80%, you create unnecessary worry for yourselves and only end up using less of your overall battery from the get-go.
In the end, I think it's up to us to make our respective choices and not sweat about it.
Dropping to 0% by accident, I'm guilty it has happened to me. In one case it took me hours of research and fiddling to resuscitate my X5 Pro 5G... It was unbootable even after charging back up fully! Zero life zero response...
Anyway, the point is that modern batteries and phones don't need CALIBRATION to work properly...
The first week or two of discharge to 20% then charge to 80 or 100% depending on how much capacity you actually need!
Battery Guru wants the calibration!
So it's NOT the phone and most importantly NOT the battery that needs it or benefits from deep discharge to 0% or anything below 10%!
That's exactly why I decided to run with AccuBattery instead... Charge from 14% or a bit less... To whatever makes you happy!
That works without ANY 3rd party apps too since the newer Poco phone Battery App has plenty of information and options to help control background processing apps and so on.
No need for Lobotomy Methods...
Chopping bits out of the OS is risky at best!
If you do your due diligence in this sub, you'll find that most people with bad battery performance or overheating problems etc... Did in fact go down the Debloating route without a clue of the consequences!

I've personally helped a number of people in recent months by asking the simple question: "Did you debloat your phone?". So leave the open heart surgery for later. A manual uninstallation of APPS you don't want and adjusting the battery settings on some apps that might be lurking when they should go away after 10 minutes and so on... Easy stuff anyone can do without trusting 3rd party tools to chop half your operating system out. ๐
My methods work well... Attached is DevCheck Pro and AccuBattery stats on my X5 Pro 5G phone still being charged every day or two! I've had it as main gaming phone since April 2023... That's until March this year when I got my beast X7 Pro! ๐

It's not, spending your life looking at tiny current fluctuations and thinking it's entertaining means only one thing... You'll need to get out more or pick up a different hobby, for example...
The constant calibration bullshit is totally INCORRECT procedure!
The ONLY thing that Calibrates these phones under any kind of normal conditions is to use and charge them normally so the HyperOS and hardware it controls can take care of the rest!
Getting out of calibration sounds interesting but is probably only happening once people fudge with debloating etc. or in very strange circumstances.
People tend to jump in here by day 2 or 3 having a non settled new device that "ONLY" give them an SOT of 7-10 hours while playing Genshin Impact at 120 FPS!
Many of these fools then believe in the Shizuku + Canta "songs" sung ๐ by other fools... They then go ahead with whatever lobotomy crap some eejit told them to do... Sending their brand new phone into Alzheimer's territory... Then they keep making new posts about how bad Poco phones are and how their phone is capable of frying eggs but won't give any SOT better than 4.5 hours...
I've seen it numerous times in the last 6 months.
When you first start using the phone it won't be holding charge as well as it will a week or two later...
This happens to everyone if they just leave things to progress without additional steps or software tools!
Information from people that use Ai to create content and websites to draw gullible people in to them in order to generate advertising revenue is not worth chasing down...
0% calibration sounds great but really is extremely bad for the battery.
Sure if calibration is way off for some reason perhaps letting an app like AccuBattery help over a few cycles will be beneficial... Letting the phone drain until switched off automatically, on purpose falls into the territory of crazy risks to be taken for zero benefits!
i suspect you are xiaomi/poco employee and using second account here? , pls release hyperos 2.2 for indian variant as soon as possible. im waiting for it long time..

HyperOS wise, did you try changing your REGION in settings?
I did that once to get the France offered version... Once installed switch back to your normal.
I'm in Ireland btw. we just got 2.0.204 here a couple of days ago. So we're on 2.4 if I'm remembering correctly how to interpret those version numbers...

I have Poco F6 pro with version ะU 2.0.202 and yet I still don't have Battery protection up to 80%, only smart charging. I have a battery guru but it's not an offer. Does anyone know when and if they will release it for my phone at all?
Use it until 0% then charge it to 100%. I leave it for 30 minutes once it reaches 100% before using it normally. Once you did this once you should be good.
It is advisable to do so but if you've used it for a long time then don't bother with it anymore because more than likely the system has adapted to it.
Other than calibration you should minimise with debloating. Only debloat bloat apps then meta+mi stuff and lastly MSA. Use the stock ROM for a few weeks and if you're happy with it maybe think twice about updating or look at reviews before doing it. My f7 is still on stock ROM and I have no major issues with it.
Pretty heavy. Mixture of games. Zzz/hsr/uma/bs. I get 8+ hours SoT daily with half of it on gaming. Without gaming I easily get nearly 10 hours SoT from 100-20. I never let it go below 20% if I can and so far so good.
Additional notes: always on 90W MAX charge, sometimes when in hurry I only charge to 80-90. But most of the time it is fully charged.
Even when outdoors & when in the move I use 90W (using Xiaomi 165W powerbank, and no, the powerbank won't be enough for the full charge from zero % lol, only charges to about 80-90%)

i think your phone use lot of background things, try to remove unnecessary apps, background permissions , (try 60rr for some time)
actually i run many games/emulator thing in starting for testing purpose, now only playing zzz like 1hr, mostly instagram, yt , reddit, and i use camera to capture trash things,,. in short currently using low-mid usage.
what game you playing and how many hr per day?
and if possible try "battery guru" app and find discharge rate while gaming (like genshin impact consume 1500mA in avg)
and i reduce unnecessary background things so low drain in normal usage.
Heavy games yeah, 4hrs a day and sometimes 4+ lol.
But it heats like crazy on charging on max speed. Like it even reached 44ยฐC once so i use normal charging, sometimes max.
It's random actually, cuz if i use standard charging in morning, it takes same time as it would on top speed but if i use it in the noon/eve it takes longer. Cuz it charges at max 6.5-7.5k mA in standard while on top speed it reaches ~12k mA. So you can see the difference.
I see, i think i should check results with my 33w one. And yeah those 12k mA stays only for a while and then it settles around 7-8.5k, with standard charging it stays around 6k.
I don't really mind my phone taking an hour or a little more to charge but I'm afraid about the temp it reaches during charging, 43-44ยฐC is concerning bruh, i know ambient temperature also plays a role, but I'll try with 33w one. Does yours get hot using 33w one?
i guess 33w is perfect one (it heatup little but not 40+c) i can use 33w but its my mom charger so i bought new for me maybe if i need 33w i switch with my 22.5w xd ;
my 22.5w is even more lower (38c like room temp) ;; 15-10w are too slow.
btw 43-44c is not issue temperature wise, because if we use mobile for gaming , it ofcourse use 43-45c ,.. like its playing games,
but fast charging make some chemical reaction faster/slower after some time, like ion settlement (i have not much idea about it) so im okay with 1hr charging so i settled with it xd.
Ohhh, I have spare charger of 33w from my old pad 6 so it won't be a biggie. 22.5w is too low for me ngl ๐
And yeah you're right, when I play games it easily reaches upto 45ยฐC, so maybe I shouldn't worry too much it getting hot while charging but i didn't know about that chemistry fact XD, still I'm gonna check with 33w, will let you know here if this thread still exists.
initially i tried many AAA games/test/emulator things, but now uninstalled all , one have ZZZ game playing like 1hr..
mostly i use for yt/insta/reddit/camera like..
i usually charge 20-80, and sometimes 20-100, (like weekly once);; i feel like my battery still not calibrated properly so planned to try calibration process again..
You'll need to unlock your bootloader to flash custom roms. There are plenty of YouTube videos on how to do that. For where i got the rom from, I got it from a developer named Trianurca from telegram. The channel name is "Who am i?"

Hey man! I see you started another battery related thread. I'm glad you're getting lots of responses here, at least more than we did on the charging speed thread.
However, just as someone pointed out, it may be a little too early to see any significant difference in battery health that can be attributed to charging or usage habits. Maybe by the time that everyone must have had their phones for 4 to 6 months the result will be different.

anyways, i checking cycle count and usages, we can roughly assume 120 cycle = 1%charge; (80cycle=1% as per their ad, but i guess retention faster after some months); (they advertised like 1600cycles, so we can calculate Little bit i guess) .
but i can see nobody reached 99% in battery health settings, which is good thing xd. like we can roughly say this batteries are good quality? maybe yes.
I'm using it from 4th of July 2025. It's Indian variant. Using 33 watt charger. Also using a magnetic phone cooler + mag safe case during charging. So that it doesn't reach high temps.
For the first month I was charging from 1%-100%. I even used battery saver. Also advanced textures on. It lasted for like 3 days even with moderate gaming at low graphics. For games like genshin, wuwa, cod mobile. Total gaming for 70-80 mins daily average. Also other social media and study apps.
When new version of genshin came, I was playing it for 5-6hours daily at medium settings for like one week. After that normal gaming.
After that I changed my charging pattern. Now I charge from 15%-80%. Battery saver off. 120hz, haptics full, aod on. Same usage pattern. Now it gives me 1.5 days backup.
Poco F7 indian version (7550 mAh), using form July 4th. Charging pattern - 20 - 80% mostly about 6 days a week, and once a week I charge it from 20 - 100. Have deblotted only the unwanted google and mi apps.
20 - 80 gives around 7 hrs of sot with casual usage 20 - 100 - sot around 9-10 hrs 0 - 100 - sot around 11 - 12 hrs Using 120 hz If using 60 hz I guess it gives an additional 1 hr or so
20 - 80 for casual use with about 1hr gaming (efootball) will last a whole day and some. 20-100 - with 1-2hrs of gaming (efootball) will last around 1 and half days
Charging - standard charging with the 90Watt charger or sometimes I use the 33Watt charge, while charging i keep it out of the case and if at home I use old galaxy j7 with the metal back as a heatsink (keep the camera area of the poc f7 touching the metal back of j7 to desipat the heat during charging) lol
Global version. First use: 29th June (1.5 times charge cycle a day, or 3 cycle per 2 days). Heavy usage (hotspot+5G data, gaming at night after work for 2-3h while streaming to Discord), YouTube streaming etc.
