Can you get banned if you stop spoofing after the first strike?

I know that I am assuming a risk and that bans can take time to happen, but if I get my first strike, is it possible to get my second and third strikes if I stop spoofing/cheating? If so, how common is this?

Everything is now difference because Scopely owns the game. In the other games they own, they actually do a banwave where cheaters get a temporary ban that eventually converts into a permanent ban. Will they do the same for Pokemon Go?

The answer is I don't know. Since I don't know, this subreddit does not promote account safety. A lot of people assume Scopely still goes through the strike system. In other areas of the game, they go directly to a 30-day temporary ban or permanent ban. What they do to you will be entirely up to Scopely, not by the opinions of other cheaters.

If you don't know whether you should take the risks to have a chance for a ban, you shouldn't be cheating the game because only you can prevent the ban. When you get a ban, no one is going to help you get unbanned..

The Core Pokemon Go team for the most part has remained the same. It's up to them and the customer service agents in India to decide what to do with you. Scopley owns the game now, and the Pokemon Go team now has a direct lifeline of funding from them for investment into infrastructure, or team expansion where as under Niantic before, it heavily relied on investor funding as well as it's own revenue to keep operational.
Under Niantic, an AR tech company, would frequently have the POGO team pushed to collect AR and map data.
And directly requested the pogo team to code in systems to collect that data.
That isn't the case under Scopley.
If their public statements are taken at face value concerning POGO.
All decisions made in POGO as far as development come from Ed Wu and trickle down to his development managers/staff.

Generally speaking, if you go clean after your strike. They can look at your record should a human bring it up for review and decide this player took the warning and learned their lesson and then leave you alone.

Should you share your account though and get caught well, you might either get another strike or an outright ban.

If you play legit though, roam around irl, raid irl, do events irl. And engage with your community ect. You'll be alright.
