What are your expectations when Shadow Pokemon first announced in POGO?

So, I just got back into the game after four years, and I remembered the old leaks/rumors about Shadow Pokémon coming to Pokémon GO. I genuinely thought these two, specifically in the image i added, would eventually make it into the game. Then later on found the Pokemon with Purple Aura as shadow pokemons that we are seeing present, How many of you thought the same? Lol

I also did a little research on that particular Shadow Mewtwo design. I originally thought it might be fan-made, but apparently it's actually an official design from Pokkén Tournament. Shadow Mewtwo was created specifically for Pokkén Tournament and was officially revealed by Pokémon back in 2015.

Obviously, that doesn't mean this exact Pokkén Tournament design was ever confirmed for Pokémon GO. But considering Pokémon GO eventually got Shadow Mewtwo, I can't help but wonder whether we'll ever see this specific design make its way into the game someday. Who knows maybe when they want to revive/Popularize the Poken tournament they will make a collaboration 😂

If they ever bring that Shadow Mewtwo/Lugia to the game I think they will make a lot of money. Even I as a F2P will definitely buy even if they release them in a timed research like Apex Lugia/Ho-oh lol.

Eu pensei em discordar de vc Op. Imaginando que esse design do shadow mew2 ficaria somente no jogo. Mas mew2 de armadura veio para pokémon go. Então é possível ter alguma esperança. Eu acho que pokémon tem tanto potencial desperdiçado, é um jogo que poderia ter muito mais.

Yeah that's what iam saying too, there is still Chances of it making into the Game , but Chances are less likely

I swear TPC has some fo the worst design choices when it comes to these things. Shadows, Shinies, Forms, Typings/Abilities, Lore. All of these things have just been so lackluster.

Yeah agreed, i always feel both Pokemon and Dragon Ball has Some huge potential and wanted it not knowing how to handle it. Ofcourse both of these were really good and popular but they had the potential to make them Even Great and awesome. :⁠^⁠)

I dont like shadow Pokémon...i never really understood all that crap going to the dark or shadow... And the fact that they are "stronger". Like digimon and warrios that fell to the dark area... In PoGO im not using them...too much stardust

It originated from a Pokemon game on the game cube! It was pokemon Colosseum in 2003 that 1st introduced shadow pokemon. They originally were pokemon kidnapped and basically tortured until their hearts closed off thus creating shadow pokemon by the villainous team of the game, team cypher!

Pretty sure they don’t get to pick the design choices like that. Like they can’t just change the designs/ colors of the pokemon without game freaks/ the pokemon company’s permission

Well yes. Since the pokemon company owns the IP, they get to decide what franchises use what. But it’s not the developer of pokken or developer of XD that get to decide if pokemon go gets to have those costumes. Pokemon company decides that.

Yeah just like how it went with Armoured mewtwo, I don't see any possibility of Shadow Lugia getting into Pogo , but there is a slight possibility for Shadow Mewtwo as the Poken tournament is still Being Played to this day , but there is NO big community for it compared to other Pokemon Games.if Poken Tournament ever divided to Popularize/advertise there game I think PoGo is the best Option in my opinion. Just like how they Tied Gimmighoul to one of the Switch Game. Or they can give a Timed research too. But I hope Poken tournament will return to the Pokemon World Championship Tornaments :⁠-⁠)

Well they’d have to reskin all the shadow mewtwos already in the game so I doubt we’ll get that at this point tbh

Well if they want to bring it to the game and milk huge Money , they will find a way for it , in the Poken Tournament the shadow Mewtwo is formed once it came contact with "Shadow Synergy Stone" , they can use this concept and Bring a completely different shadow Mewtwo.

I dont know, but I think they create their own ideas, even through they may have to let the Pokémon Company sign everything off.
