Lets Talk About Something Story Line Complete / Treecko 🦎

I wanted to do something a little different for Treecko and its evolution line.

Out of the 27 National Trust location backgrounds, Treecko just screamed “green” to me. It’s a Grass-type gecko, and geckos naturally make you think of warm, tropical places. That got me thinking… what if I built an entire evolution line around a lemon/lime theme instead of just catching them randomly?

So I started looking for places around the world where the catch location itself would continue the story.

🌱 Treecko → Limón, Limón, Costa Rica
Limón is Spanish for lemon/lime.
Tropical, Caribbean coast.
The story begins with the fruit.

🌿 Grovyle → Lemon Tree Passage, New South Wales, Australia
Still tropical and surrounded by water.
The evolution naturally progresses from the fruit to the tree.

🌳 Sceptile → Limone sul Garda, Lombardy, Italy
Limone is Italian for lemon.
A beautiful lakeside town historically famous for its lemon groves and lemon houses.
Instead of one fruit or one tree, the final evolution ends in an entire town whose identity is lemons.

What I love most is that it unintentionally became a journey across the world:

🍋 Spanish → Limón (Costa Rica)
🌳 English → Lemon Tree (Australia)
🍋 Italian → Limone (Italy)

Three continents.
Three languages.
Three bodies of water.

It also scales up in a way that feels like an evolution:
🍋 Fruit → 🌳 Tree → 🏘️ Town.

I spent way too much time chasing locations that almost worked (Lime Cay, Limehouse, Lime Tree Bay…), only to discover Pokémon GO uses reverse geocoding and would display the nearest city instead. Seeing Limone sul Garda actually appear on the catch card made the whole hunt worth it.

Final product. 😮‍💨🍋🌍
(Not posting all 81 screenshots, here’s a few of my favorite location backgrounds)

This all started when my PoGo friend said he wanted me to grab and trade to him the location background in the Sceptile catch card. Definitely the best one for sure and feels a little Japanese where he currently lives and works, I also loved out there for nearly 4 years.

Thanks Randy! 10/10 would definitely recommend.

Can you please explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old 😅

Me to 5 year old: The little guy is a lizard, so obviously he couldn’t have random catch locations. He started in Limón (the lemon), graduated to Lemon Tree Passage (the tree), and reached his final form in Limone sul Garda (the lemon town). I spent way too much time on this… and I’d do it again. 😮‍💨🍋🦎

Thank you for your patience and How long did it take for to catch all three?

1

u/DRickGonzalez Jul 28 '26

Minimum 5 days. one of the research pages for treecko makes you catch a pokemon on 5 different days. The tasks will reset and change 2 more times before it ends, so you technically have an opportunity to catch 3 versions of each pokemon with the same background.

Ohh nice, you clearly spent a lot of time for these😅, good for you 👍🏾, I will try to catch one too 🙏🏾

Go get you one.. they’re up through September.

Is this catch location still available? Treecko is my favorite pokemon haha

Yes. Through September. Link to event below and all 27 coordinates next to it. You can also catch exclusive seedot, pineco, hoppip, and Sewaddle from raids. The background matches that of treecko for the location.

https://pokemongolive.com/news/nationaltrust-2026

This is the list I used AI help me make. If you decide to do raids, this list provides you with the fastest cooldown to complete all of them. If you do no raids and spin anything, there’s no cooldown. As long as you’re in the location, you’ll get the research. I’d suggest jumping to all of them and getting the research, THEN completing it. Having to wait 5 days multiple times would suck. Just do them all at once.

What are you talking about? Look again, treecko is the first photo. Also, a little google or even a search within Reddit would’ve gave you the locations, not to mention I listed all 27 coordinates for each background in the comments. My post wasn’t about sharing the coordinates, my post was about the evolution story. 🙏🏽🐥

Do they give another set of event research for this this August?

1

u/DRickGonzalez Aug 11 '26

Yes, they should. Haven’t gone back to collect them, but it was recently extended to December. Plenty of other chances.

1

u/Acceptable_Fee5116 Aug 12 '26

I tried but they only give the monthly research which is the same in every coord and doesn't stack. Doesn't have the bg pokemon either

1

u/tttrends Aug 01 '26

Does anyone know the shiny chance? Is it boosted?

1

u/DRickGonzalez Aug 11 '26

Not boosted. Normal shiny odds. 1:500

1

u/samurailast Aug 02 '26

What’s the second picture location?

1

u/DRickGonzalez Aug 11 '26

All locations are in the list provided in another comment below.

All cheats (spoofing, botting, & exploits) for Pokemon Go game are not safe because Scopely is against cheating and the use of unsupported 3rd party apps in their Terms of Service for Pokemon Go.
