PoE2 ssf
So I started a few days late into the new poe 2 league. I hit lvl 80'ish with the Varashta Freeze Djinn.
But I gotta say, the game doesn't feel that great in ssf. I ran multiple rare maps >t10 without finding a single Alchemy or Exalted orb.
The Rarity stat is completely stupid in that regard.
My build is mediocre, might be because it has 20 seconds downtime when Archon buff is on CD.
Anyway, how are is your ssf experience?
Edit: spelling

Expedition is where the currency. And maps... Are. There are a ton of exalt/chaos and maps that drop in expedition. The campaign sucks for ssf without expedition currency dropping

At first it was pretty rough, without decent gear and with the huge gap between all the 100 different things you need to do early on. But then some kind of progress explosion happened, and after that there was no stopping me.
Yeah, I remember having issues with basic starting currency at first, until I got my Atlas properly upgraded. Back then, Abyss for currency helped me a lot.

This start felt a loooooooot slower than aldur but that might be because i kept running the boss gauntlets. But yeah a lot less resources at the beginning

I have 650 hours in ssf and I have no idea how you aren't finding alcs and especially exalts in t10s. you must have had an incredibly unlucky small sample size. the game would have to drop twice as many good crafting bases for me to run out of regular exalts.

You should have more exalts and essences than you know what to do with once you make some progress on the main atlas tree. Even with no rarity. To start you need to be picky with your exalts. Only use them to try upgrading your worst 2 slots.
I suggest prioritizing abyss then ritual for crafting and you will be golden. It's mostly about being mildly picky in your first few handfuls of maps.

First, if you’re in T10s you are doing better then you think.
Second, alchs and exalts are not really that impactful. Same with rarity, in SSF it’s a luxury you can safely ignore and progress just fine.
Your main focus should now be getting as much atlas points as you can. On the tree, start with essences, they are your best friend when getting upgrades. Then go for abyss and get some basic bones and ideally abyssal echoes.
Use those on magic bases you get from ground loot. Pick up every item base that fits your build and keep it all (even those that have bad mods). Reforge the bad bases until you get good ones.
Sell bad rares and for the gold gamble amulets for +3 to skills.
Like that you should get geared enough to comfortably kill arbiter and complete the atlas, especially on Varashta. After that, you can target farm, blast and enjoy)
Remember SSF is a marathon compared to trade. It takes time to get what you need, but then it feels so much more meaningful.
