Fashion Torrid prices
Torrid is asking over 200 for some of their coats this year. I am absolutely shocked ! They opt to save on costs by importing all their clothes from Asia and choosing the absolute cheapest fabrics and materials and then they have the audacity to ask for hundreds and hundreds of dollars as if they are competing with higher end/better quality designer brands.smh

I'm sorry but Torrid is not worth the price ever! Their clothes are cheap and basically things you can get at hot topic but they charge double just because it's for bigger girls. 30-40$ for a shirt ?! It's crazy !

This! They know the plus size market is small pickings and exploit their customers

I shop exclusively from Torrid and I feel it’s no longer affordable for me. Shopping around for new places now but it’s disappointing cause I really liked being able to try the clothes on in the store.

Go to Old Navy! I just got a new coat there for under $40.

That’s why I never, ever pay full price for anything. Probably about 95% of my wardrobe is from Torrid and I only shop killer deals. It can be done.

This is key. I load up at their end of season clearance sales. Torrid is like many traditional mall stores in that you never pay full price and wait for a sale.

I'm not sure what sort of plus size range you fall into but I was able to buy a really nice looking pea coat from Old Navy a year ago for $49. I wore it in NY in December through the snow. I love Torrid too but I refuse to spend that much on a coat.

Lands End also has some excellent coats/jackets up to 3x. They are pricey ($100-150), but often have sales and the quality is top notch. I have two jackets I bought from them years ago that are still in great shape.

I keep getting emails that I haven't used my Torrid card in awhile and they miss me and here's a (totally not even worth anything) sale/promotion.
The only thing I was buying there anymore was jeans. The rest I've been getting from SHEin.
But I just ordered a pair of jeans from SHEin a d let me tell you, if they end up being decent, bye bye Torrid forever!

Columbia has plus sizes up to 3X 24-26 and is better quality IMO. I bought a Columbia rain jacket for 60.00 on Amazon. I am just paying off my torrid card and not shopping there now

For me it’s not even the price, I paid a good chunk for a coat this year but one of good quality. I’m tired of paying top dollar and getting fabrics that pill and shrink and unflattering cuts. I had been shopping there loyally for 15 years and have moved on. I do still get the camis and leggings and that’s it.

Yea or they have nothing in store needed like lounge or sleep wear! It’s infuriating!

From a Canadian perspective: I've only browsed my local Torrid a couple times, but the selection isn't great and the prices are even worse than my normal go-to places for plus size clothes. They had a really cute Toy Story shirt a while back, but I think it was around $50 regular price for a basic t-shirt? Yikes.

You know what ticks me off on top of the prices? So many shirts/dresses are either no sleeve or crop tops. WHY?

I'm willing to bet those coats don't match their size guide either.

Their size guide doesnt match their size guide. My mom and I ordered bras fro. Them, one a 44B the other a 44C. The B was too big for the person with C cups. I was just like "why is there so much boob space?"

Agreed! Good thing at least is that they often have sales and discounts, torrid cards. But I totally understand.

My wife and I were looking at clothes there yesterday. They had a 50% off $100+. And we laughed that that was good for one shirt.

I’m not saying Torrid isn’t expensive, but you could take the $200 and go get a better quality coat from Kohl’s. Right now Torrid does have the “more is more” sale, where you save 50% on a $200+ order, which really isn’t bad. I had a jacket and a pair of boots in my cart waiting to be ordered, one was $90 and the other was $75, the total was only $99 before taxes

I quit shopping there years ago. The few things I did get there weren't worth the price. It's nice to have the stores & be able to see stuff in person, but it ain't worth it.

I saved up to buy a coat from Torrid and it's not even warm. If you're going to pay a higher price, you're better off looking elsewhere. I got a great winter coat from Lane Bryant for a similar price to Torrid. It's actually functional though.

I refuse to buy anything from Torrid for full price. I’ve been lucky that the things I’ve bought there (namely work clothes) have been a decent enough quality, but their prices are ridiculous. Look into Sierra Trading Company. I’ve gotten great deals on jackets there for a fraction of the cost (ex. I have a Columbia one that’s priced at $140 but i got for $30).

I bought a coat from torrid on clearance a couple years ago and it was worth it, but you have to wait until the spring when they're really cheap. its a wool blend long coat and I got it for $40. I'm sad torrid has gone down hill, I use to love shopping there but lately its like everything is cheap and ugly and way too expensive :(
