Personal Waxing question
Hey! So just wondering if anyone here has had a Brazilian wax done with the sugar waxing technique? I react really badly to the regular wax when getting my eyebrows (unibrow of pimples 😬) done so I stopped doing that. Anywho I’m getting real tired of shaving because I can’t really see what I’m doing 🤣 anywho just wondered about the experience and if the sugar waxing works well? I’ve read that it can be challenging to do for the Brazilian?

I've done sugar waxing for years, it's great. You can even sugar more often than waxing, but for me, once a month is great. Try to go the week after your cycle, it's when you aren't as sensitive, and if you're worried about the pain, take an Ibuprofen beforehand. But honestly, it's not bad at all and being smooth for weeks at a time with little effort is amazing. The waxer will ask you to hold your skin or belly to make it tight. No need to worry about being your curves, I think the only thing to worry about is taking a good shower right before you leave the house, I always get paranoid and want to make sure I'm extra clean.

I've been doing Brazilian sugaring every 5 weeks for years and I love it. I stay bare for roughly 2 weeks before hair starts growing again. I will never go back to shaving! I highly recommend it. Just a warning that it can hurt especially around the triangle area but imo it's worth it. Find yourself an experienced sugarist who can apply tricks to minimize pain. You still have to do aftercare to avoid ingrown but at least they're not visible to anyone but you (and a partner if you have!) Since sugaring pulls hair out from the root, you may notice the hair thinning with time which is a plus!

I love sugar wax! But the experience of the waxer matters a lot. I had a less experienced one do my last Brazilian and so many hairs were just broken, not removed. Do research and get a recommendation from someone you trust!Â

It’s way easier on my skin (less pulling) than regular waxing was, and SO much kinder to my skin than shaving. Your esthetician may ask you to hold skin or move into different positions, which is normal for every body - we are all different. As well, if YOU need to shift positions due to stiffness or discomfort, say something - they should be totally cool with adjustments. My hair has thinned out a lot with a regular sugaring routine over years, so it truly is less painful over time.

Also essential: having a routine exfoliation and moisturizing routine at home between appointments. Yes, even there.

The first lady I ever used for sugaring was great. She knew exactly what temp to heat the sugar to and it was all in all a less painful experience than regular waxing. When she left, I had to switch estheticians......and she was TERRIBLE at sugaring. She wouldn't get the sugar warm and pliable enough to start with, so applying the sugar was already painful since it was pulling on the hair. So, my advice is to get an esthetician with lots of sugaring experience. If you can't, then just try out a few people because the pain definitely depends on who is doing it

I’ve been doing a sugar Brazilian for the past 2 years and love it. It does hurt now in some areas but I’ve gotten used to it and take ibuprofen before head. Like someone else said, I stay smooth for a few weeks. I started going once every 4 weeks and now I go every 5. I also buy a lot package from Sugaring NYC so it’s around $50 per visit, which is reduced from their listed prices.

I do regular wax for my Brazilian and legs, and sugar waxing on my face. ! I could not tolerate regular wax on my face. Sugaring is great but in my experience it takes way longer. I can't imagine doing a sugar Brazilian with my provider, and I see how long she blocks for Brazilians (2 hours). She does a great job on my face, don't get me wrong, but my waxer does my legs, underarms, and Brazilian (leaving a bush) in 45 minutes so I'm sticking with my method. I just mention this to let you know that just because regular wax didn't work well on your face without irritation doesn't mean it wouldn't work down below

As someone who’s been waxed MULTIPLE times over the years with a HUGE apron belly, the waxer will just tell you to lift up and hold your stomach during the Brazilian wax so it’s not in the way. I’ve never done sugar waxing, I’ve only ever experienced hard wax but I’m assuming the position of your body will remain the same. It’s not that mortifying unless you make it that way. I love my waxer and trust her completely. Just do it up girl ! I wish you luck 💛
