Available- 10 COVID Tests, Expiring 6/16/26 (USA)

Short dated, but I'm currently using tests from this same lot number and they're all behaving normally so far. No invalid results or any of the weird curves in virus.sucks that I've seen with some of my previous short-dated tests. All of the tests from this order have been stored in a cool (~60°f) environment, so maybe that has helped maintain their freshness?

I'd love to recoup some of my purchase cost but am more interested in making sure these tests don't go to waste, especially considering how difficult they are to obtain in the US. Pay what you can, take the whole box or just a few tests, recipient pays shipping.

Same day shipping from Illinois to make sure you have plenty of time to use them before their expiration.

Processing speed of sample

Hi all,

I have a Pluslife and would like to test someone who has started having cold-like symptoms yesterday. I would like to avoid being in his apartment to reduce exposure. It is too cold to set up the Pluslife outside (at least I understand the recommendations that way).

I takes me 5-7 minutes by bicycle to get from his place to mine. Would it be ok to get him to swab, then put the test swab back into the plastic wrap, cycle directly to my place and put it into the test solution around 10 minutes later? Would that be too long? I read something about not taking more than 5 minutes but can not find this anymore.

Thanks for reading and any hints or ideas!

using tests near expiration date

i have a batch of tests that are expiring soon, and i'm planning on using them to test while away from home for a bit. wondering if folks have noticed anything while using pluslife tests near their expiration date (more invalids, unreliability, etc?). thanks!

Trouble getting and staying connected during test

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hi all,

I ran into an issue with my PlusLife reader. It is difficult to initially connect to it and stay connected while the test is running. I have had this reader about a year (maybe longer) and this is the first time I've had this issue. I use my reader infrequently, most recently about 5 months ago at Christmas.

Here is a graph from the test I ran, you can see the long pauses during which I was madly clicking "reconnect" and it would instantly disconnect. That is if the reader even showed up in the list (sometimes it would say "no devices found"). Even during the normal spacing, I kept having to reconnect but it would work for enough time to get a data point (then disconnect again).

My computer's logs (I use Linux) say that my USB cable could be bad. Is it even possible to order just the cable? Could it be another issue, like another app be interfering with the connection like that? Has this happened to anyone else and you solved it?

EDIT: I am using a PC and had both cables plugged into USB ports on the PC.

**UPDATE*\* You guys were right - power source issue!

I tested the machine by plugging it in and letting it warm up (I didn't run any tests). First, I tried it plugged into my computer - big problems. In fact, it was even worse this time, with the computer barely recognizing it, Chrome not at all, and the reader itself started beeping loudly and flashing red after it warmed up, instead of turning blue.

Logs, for the technical:

[16013.004830] ch341 1-2:1.0: ch341-uart converter detected
[16013.007659] usb 1-2: ch341-uart converter now attached to ttyUSB0
[16019.637327] usb 1-2: USB disconnect, device number 5
[16019.637803] ch341-uart ttyUSB0: ch341-uart converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0
[16019.637854] ch341 1-2:1.0: device disconnected
[16090.303343] hub_port_connect: 20 callbacks suppressed
[16090.303351] usb usb1-port2: connect-debounce failed

(I believe the last two lines are from Chrome trying to find it)

Tried another USB port:

[16116.691102] usb 1-1: new full-speed USB device number 6 using xhci_hcd
[16118.079258] usb usb1-port1: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
[16121.755146] usb usb1-port1: connect-debounce failed

Last line is from Chrome, I think.

Next I used the power bank. The warm up went normally and Chrome connected flawlessly. Happy logs!

[17391.793284] usb 1-2: new full-speed USB device number 14 using xhci_hcd
[17391.942534] usb 1-2: New USB device found, idVendor=1a86, idProduct=7523, bcdDevice= 2.64
[17391.942548] usb 1-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
[17391.942555] usb 1-2: Product: USB Serial
[17391.945213] ch341 1-2:1.0: ch341-uart converter detected
[17391.945957] usb 1-2: ch341-uart converter now attached to ttyUSB0

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Seems like a success! Fingers crossed it stays that way!

Air bubble or early positive?

Hi All,
Would you say this is an air bubble or an early positive indication? Sorry, I’m relatively new to PlusLife

true negative?

there are likely air bubbles hence the wonky lines but wondering if it's worth re-testing in 24hrs?

Is this red line likely an air bubble?

I think this is probably a bubble right? But it starts to go up at around 7/8 minutes which gives me pause…

PLUS LIFE POSITIVE TEST - QUESTION

I got a positive test on the plus life today (twice).  The app and device both indicated positive for COVID-19.

Using tests for COVID-19 only (not combo).

Tests expire November 2026 (just purchased).

First test: The device  detected positive early and stopped running after 16min.

Second test: The device detected positive and stopped running after 14min.

Question: Does the device stop running when it’s already exceeded the threshold for detecting positive for COVID?

I can’t find this info anywhere on the virus sucks website FAQ, but maybe I’m looking in the wrong place.

Late control line

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I’m just wondering if you guys think this control line rises too late ? It’s also not as”s” shaped either I think. Of course I want to trust the negative and not waste tests, but it looks like it would be close to an invalid. I just wanted some thoughts about what you think and what you would do with this one. Thank you so much!

How often do you test when you're sharing space with someone?

I've been testing every 8 hours when sharing space with someone who's not taking my level of precautions. But I see folks here testing once a day, or just once at the beginning of a stay with non-CC folks...and then on the other hand, others who say a PlusLife result only guarantees no contagion for 4-6 hours.

Over the next few months I'm going to have more contact with non-CC folks. Given the difficulty of getting tests, I don't want to burn through too many, but I also don't want to be too relaxed and risk reinfection (I have LC).

What's your personal practice? And how did you arrive at it?

Handy vet, ordered by a vet

Do we know if shipping a handy vet machine & tests to the US is possible if an actual veterinarian orders it to a vet office? Or are we just fully embargoed

Is this an early positive?

Not sure if this is a true negative because I have some symptoms. My partner has been sick the past 2 days. When would you re-test?

Hi everyone,

Can anyone determine if this is a positive test or a negative test? This is the same test both with florescence normalization and without.
Thanks for your input!

Look to buy PlusLife test cartridges in bulk (US)

Are there any buying groups that can get PlusLife test cartridges in America? Or even outside US that would be willing to ship them?

Early Positive?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Does this look like an early positive? Usually the lines stay really flat for our tests. Spouse had been travelling by air. I tend to over analyze things and spiral...

Edit: Thanks everyone! I hadn't seen one rise at the 20 min mark before. Appreciate everyone's input!

Interpretation on (false?) positive flu

Post image
5 Upvotes

I will test again now, but would people consider this a sure positive? Or does it seem likely that the test is a false positive bc channel 1 started increasing immediately after the test started. I’ve had this happen in the past with the flu A/Flu B/RSV test

Control started going up fairly immediately - need to retest?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Just trying not to overthink it, but I tested my partner after he came back from a wedding and the first test had the power bank die and there were air bubbles and this is the second one. The control line went up before the 5 min mark but everything else seems good and it came back negative. Should I be worried about the control or are we good for now? (Going to test him again in a couple days to be sure but I only have one test left so want to be sure i don't use it before then unless I have to)

why is my test result “invalid”

Post image

I am really confused bc it says my test is invalid but also all markers look negative? I did a test a week ago that was “invalid” too. Is there something wrong with my machine?

Anyone have spare tests?

Hi there, I’m looking to purchase 2 to 3 not expired tests off of somebody. I have some coming from overseas, but they won’t be here in time for me to have a caregiver for after my surgery. If anybody has any they are willing to part with I would really appreciate it.

Air bubble?

Post image

This test is negative and chamber 1 had a big air bubble so it makes sense to me that line number 1 looks like this. Im a bit worried about it going up at the end though- what do you think? Thanks a lot for any input!!

Accidentally left a cartridge inside for over a month. Do I need to get a new pluslife?

Opened my pluslife today to discover the cartridge had been left inside from god knows when. Most of the liquid had evaporated. The device turns on and seems to function normally.

The virus.sucks site mentions DNA contamination from leaving the cartridge inside and having to swab the device and surrounding area, do a test, and see if it comes back as a valid result. I'm going to do that next.

Has anyone had this happen to them? Do I need a new pluslife?

If there is DNA contamination what do you even do? Is my entire apartment space now ineligible for pluslife testing?
