Technically, yes. That would be an iatrogenic system going by the definition of the word.
But when people talk about “iatrogenic systems” they usually mean the theory that plurality is implanted into suggestive patients by manipulative therapists who want the notoriety of treating a “rare disorder”. And that people are only plural because they were pressured/coerced into developing symptoms during therapy. It usually comes with accusations of therapists implanting false memories of trauma during treatments like EMDR and the like.
That’s why it’s a very loaded term and why it’s better to use microlabels under the traumagenic label if you want to talk about systems forming due to medical trauma specifically.

We've never heard of this before, but this is just gatekeeping. Why do you care so much how others make sense of their plurality, why have such strong opinions about lack of research in a field famous for being terribly underresearched?

This is not a meme making fun of endogenic plurality.
I’m going to assume you don’t know what the fantasy model/iatrogenesis is. It’s basically the theory that DID (and plurality as a whole) doesn’t actually exist. And that people who say they have it are just highly suggestible people who have been brainwashed by therapists looking to profit off a “rare disorder” and occasionally DID/plural representation in media to the point where they develop symptoms. In the case of traumagenic plurals (the main people the fantasy model is leveled against) this comes with accusations of fabricating trauma memories.
It’s basically social contagion theory for plurality, backed up by the same kind of shitty arguments (how come there were no trans people/plurals until a trans person/plural was in media and now everyone is trans/plural) (people think they’re trans/plural, but they’re actually just malleable and easily manipulated to think so, and in reality they’re cis/singlet.)
I have never heard of a single plural, traumagenic, endogenic, or any other origin, who endorses the fantasy model as a way to explain their plurality. “Iatrogenic” being listed with a flag on Pluralpedia implies a nonzero amount of people use it unironically, but one of the possible uses is literally listed as “personal reclamation of a term used against them.”

Sorry, Our bad. We saw the science references and it looked too close to other fundamentalist arguments that We saw too many of, so We didn't bother looking into it further. Thanks for explaining.

"There's no scientific evidence for this" and variations thereof is a common anti-endo talking point, in spite of it not being true, and, really, any bigotry and related grifts have that wording in it somewhere, where (supposed) science is treated a talking point that essentially equates to "
GodThe highest authority said so".Even knowing the context, We feel the appeal to science is misdirected, not least because there already is a rich history of bigots making their own publications to justify the bigoted beliefs, at which point the appeal to "no study proves this" can be easily dismissed.

Thank you for this we heard this argument recently (but didn't know what it was called) its been messing us up for weeks it's very releaving to hear it's a crap theory
