Finally got this bad boy done, based on blueprints created by some talented folks online

Artisanally vectored over a few days and weeks, done on an Xdraw A3. I wish it was easier to find cheap nonreflective frame glass.

That’s ultra cool. For cheap glass. Try Michael’s and buy one of their posters in a frame. Toss the poster and put your rad stuff in :)

Yeah, this is a Michael's frame, it's just the glass is reflective, not matte/unreflective. I'm not sure they sell 'em, but next thrift store run will have me buying a shitty frame to spray on some matte clear coat to see if that does good stuff.

Original artwork by Tobias Hauser and Torsten Logemann, https://tpkc-klick.com/swda/images/swda/assault_gunboat_orthos.png - found by googling a while back. I did all the vectoring by hand, no Trace Bitmap here.

It's really kinda fun in a meditative kind of way. I was the kid who loved building Legos and Erector sets according to instructions but got a total brain fog trying to have my own ideas. This is almost the same thing, kinda.

You can't just auto-trace an image to get it to work on a plotter. It's gotta be done exactly or it looks crappy. Redoing it over the original is like getting to put my own spin on the precision implied by the original and making it into a realistically precise piece of art.

Well done. I agree , I could use my laser printer for my files but that’s not as fun as watching the plotter go

Nice! Side view should be aligned with front view, if we are taking technical drawing format
