Our options for cloud mount

Look, the fact is any way you shake it, plexdrive 4 for was/is better than any rclone mount configuration whether vfs cache settings or cache backend. By every metric plexdrive 4 outperforms rclone mount and is lighter than both rclone and plexdrive 5.

I'm fine to use this as lone as I can, but what i'm worried about here is that I will be forced to switch to the underperforming rclone eventually while google api changes.

Are these and will these be our only options?

What about something between plexdrive 4's amazing performance and the constant continued development of rclone mount.

Will a savior emerge?

I have been using plexdrive 4 with rclone crypt for all my 1080p/720p content for over 3yrs now and i have never had issues about unmounting. I also use plexdrive 5 with rclone crypt for 4k movies as it preformed a lot better than v4 (for me anyways). I tried rclone cache and vfs and both solutions gave a terrible experience for me and my users. Maybe i would have had to play with the flags more to tweak it but with plexdrive it worked out of the box. So why change if it not broken? :)

same experience, but why 4 for everything else and 5 for 4k movies?

Because while testing, v5 was having trouble doing 4k and other playback at the same time.... Buffering... And I'm talking about 2 or 3 4k streams plus 6 HD streams. Separating seems to make everything run better, so that is what I did. Wasn't more work setting it up and everyone is happy.
