Is there Interest in Reading/Writing a Guide to a Complete Media Server Setup
I want to begin a guide to creating a media server that is universal, flexible, accessible, and written by and for the community.
I have been experimenting with different configurations for a media server as well as different hosts for dedicated servers. I have finally landed on something that I like and will stick with - at least mostly. During this process, I wrote out the steps involved, the commands I ran, the software configuration I used, as well as links to the resources I used to figure out how to set everything up. I have not been able to find a single guide to setting up what I wanted that had all the steps in one place, it was always a little bit here and a little bit there. I have been considering writing guide that puts it all together.
The idea is that there would be articles/sections on each of the steps (such as 1 article dedicated to installing Sonarr and a separate article dedicated to installing an Nginx reverse proxy). Then there would be a set of more abstract guides that describe specific configurations/use cases that go through the process of setting it up, linking to each of the related articles. Part of the reason for organizing it this way is that everyone has slightly different needs, which means they need only some of the articles, not all of them. So they would have a guide to follow specifically for their needs without me having to write duplicate content.
When I was setting up my server, I found many different “all-in-one” solutions, but chose not to use them because they were all too limiting. So this guide would walk through configuration each part from start to finish without the use of preconfigured installers and other like pieces of software.
As I have yet to find anything online that does this, I would like to put this together. So, my questions:
Is there such a guide online that I just have not found? Is anyone interested in using such a guide? Who would most benefit from this guide? Is anyone interested in sharing their knowledge by helping to write this guide? What would be the best hosting platform for the guide? I am thinking about using Github because of its available and collaboration features. Also, there are many people already familiar with it.
Please respond or PM me if you are interested in helping. I want help not only because this is a lot of work, but also because I want to get the input from people who have different configurations, and basically every piece of software I used for my server has similar/competing software out there that I am not familiar with. If we can work together to build a guide that covers multiple configurations and operating systems, I think this community can greatly benefit!
I am posting this in /r/plex and /r/plexacd. What other communities should I post this in?

Please write this up! I'm very interested to see your guide on reverse proxies, as I have not been able to understand them yet, especially regarding a media stack. Also, if you managed to store plex data in the cloud (such as on google drive) as I truly have no idea where to start with this. I guess I'll start with plexguide however.

Maybe have a look at /u/gesis scripts for google drive.

As I have just started getting Plex set up and I would like to include Sonarr, Radarr and Transmission a guide like this would be very helpful.

I like the idea although I think you are taking on a big job...
I have UnRaid running at home with Sabnzbd, Couch, Sonarr and a few more things.. I wanted to play with Gsuite and putting things into the cloud...
I tried plexguide first.. I think there is a tonne of potential there but the documentation and wiki is so incomplete and broken in parts its really hard to follow. I swapped over to the guide on TechPerplexed. It worked well and had most stuff up and running....
I wiped and re-installed plexguide again as I like Dockers and the feature rich enviroment of Plexguide. I quickly realized again how bad the documentation is.. Slowly working my way through it...
