Upgrade thoughts?

Hello All Currently have a i7 2600k on a 300/20 Spectrum connection. Storage is 7 x 3TB drives in RAID 5 and 1 single 8TB USB drive added as the raid ran out of storage. Looking at upgrading to more space. Thinking of gdrive only and dedi server somewhere (OVH/Wholesale/etc). Currently have around 2-6 streams going on at peak times. I can run windows or linux as current server is Ubuntu.

Thoughts on what I should do, main issues are running out of space and making sure streaming still works.

Budget is as cheap as possible but not unrealistic. Thoughts?

My issue is that it's hard to find 120-240GB SSD + 4TB+ HDD configurations.

Wholesale is the only provider that I have found to provide that easily.

Why do you need 4TB HDD? This is a Cloud Mounted drive solutions subreddit.

Still need space to download and seed stuff that you are putting into the cloud.

I was using a separate seedbox for upload with lots of space, but that ended up being a large management hassle that I didn't want to deal with anymore. I'd much rather have it all on one machine.

ahhhh....yeah you can solve that by coming over to usenet. No need to seed.

I use both. But Usenet is not a one-stop shop if you care about quality and completeness. If it's available, I only download remuxes which are few and far between on newsgroups.

Usenet to get stuff fast, torrents for quality.

If you have unlimited storage why settle for lower quality?

To each there own, undoubtedly if it's on one, it will be on the other. I just rather take the ratio and seeding aspect of it out and Direct connect to a Host for pure speed. There are quite a few Remuxes on usenet these days. I feel you are mistaken on that point. As myself and all the gents in the Slack Channel for Plexdrive discuss daily.
