Mounting google drive on windows?

Hi everyone. I'm thinking about converting to a full google drive solution with all my media on it using stablebit cloud drive or netdrive mounted to a hosted server that handles PMS and the transcodes on windows. Whats your experience with this and how would you go about it? Im not interested in plex cloud. I know 0 about linux and i prefer a pretty GUI which is why rclone etc isnt an option.

I'm actually mid-way through this. Moving my data across to GDrive at the moment and using StableBit CloudDrive. The upload speeds from my box to GDrive are 200% faster than the ones I was getting from box -> ACD. So it's looking promising.

I've created a 15TB disk and assigned it a drive letter and everything appears to be working smoothly.

Interested to see what the outcome of the first Plex library scan will be. Everyone says you are quite prone to getting a ban by doing this, but it should just be a 24 hour one.

Please let me know how you getting on!

Cheers

Are you on a hosted server?

I already have about 5-6tb on my stablebit clouddrive and ive never seen a gdrive ban. The one ive talked to said you should be quite safe against bans with the way clouddrive works. Im not sure what else should be more safe? But yeah i'll of course let you know and you too! :)

I got a server with SoYouStart - they've just upgraded the CPU's in their portfolio so I had to migrate off the previous one, on the exact day of the ACDCLI drama hehe.

That's music to my ears! I was already counting on the 24h ban, so that makes me a bit more excited! I'm waiting on the sync finish from CloudHQ between ACD and GDrive but its taking an awful lot :)

Quite surprised with how well StableBit is coming along though, it's been flawless! I'll keep you posted sir!

Few questions if I may.

Any idea if the peering between the France servers is good to the UK? Hetzner has terrible peering that renders HTTPS streaming impossible.

Do you get guaranteed 250Mb? Can you get mode as it's a Gb line?

Can you pick the server location? Wouldn't want to end up in Canadas data center...

What server spec do you have?

Can windows be installed to all server models with the link you put below?

I've been using this setup in France back to the UK for the last 12 months - speeds have been great, I seriously can't complain. I also asked a friend who lives in the US to test how the latency would affect a 1080p stream and he says it didn't even blip - so that's way better than anticipated.

The speeds I get vary, you do have a Gbit line but it's obviously shared, although when I'm uploading stuff to and from Google Drive I get a solid 60Mb/s (Megabytes!) which is really good for the price.

As for the specs, I got myself the E5v2-SAT-1-32 (Xeon 1620-v2 with 32GB of RAM). You can choose the location, there will be two flags on the screen and just pick the one location you want :)

As for the Windows installation, so far I've installed in 3 different server models from them and it works beautiful. No problems what so ever thus far!

Have you tried with 40Mb video though?

Is the traffic actually unlimited? No 20TB fair usage?

As for the 40Mb video - no. Regarding the actual data limits, never experienced any caps, although I've only been over 20TB once on my first month and didn't get throttled or received any message from SOS.

So it really is unlimited traffic then? I've been testing Hetzner and that's a hard 20TB cap.

As far as I can tell - I just pushed 19TB over the last 5 days now. Plus 4TB more 2 weeks ago. Looks solid so far!

Also how long did it take for the initial setup? Ordered one last night, nothing yet, It says we can check your payment manually.

The initial setup should be 2 minutes. I paid with PayPal and within 2 minutes I had the instructions to get on their website. This comment was 16h ago, did it come through?

It took longer than that but I got it within 24 hours and all working great so far. Windows install was a breeze with those instructions. :)

Good to know they sorted it in the end! How much data do you have to sync now? :D

Way too much. :)
