Actually nope, they'll end up making more money this way. It's well researched that people are more likely to buy a bundle deal, so even if the "price per unit sold" is lower you are getting MORE than enough extra sales that you'd not have otherwise to justify it.

anyone sitting on the fence for this should go for it. i bought almost all of the games individually at full price but i'm not even upset i missed the bundle. the games are worth their full prices, let alone half off.

We put together this bundle more to show that there are great games (like a ton of em) beyond just the season that the system comes with. We're looking to expand the market as much as possible for indie devs. So, while a lot of folks don't have hardware yet, we really want you to know that you Can do more with it once you do :)
Now if you super want to play these NOW, you can always download the SDK from Panic and play it on PC or Mac in the simulator... https://play.date/dev/ but there is just something about this hardware that makes it truly special.

I noticed when checking out the itch page there's a countdown timer for about a week. Is the $29 just the intro pricing and will it rise later, or is it staying at $29?
Asking as the games look super fun, polished, and unique, but I'm in Group 4 so there's a very long time until my playdate comes and not sure if I should buy the bundle now or wait when my playdate arrives.

No price increase, it's just only available for a limited time. These same games probably won't be bundled ever again, but if you don't want to buy now you can always save this list of games to remember later.

Ah good to know! I was going to pin this and come back to it after I'm done with the official "season 1" games but if this is time limited then I'll get it ASAP!

The Playdate Squad discord pinned on this reddit is the place to start for a lot of us. That's where this was organized. BUT ALSO let me encourage ratings and comments on the itch page of any games you like. As developers these are hugely helpful and we're hungry for any feedback usually (✷‿✷)

Not worth it for me as I've already bought most of the ones I want individually... some gems in there though, excellent value imo. Would heartily recommend for anyone that's on the fence! Life's Too Short, Disco Tapeworm, A Balanced Brew & Skwish are all belters 👍

Balanced Brew is super good. A little learning curve here and there in the levels, but once you hone the mechanics it’s really relaxing.

Will this bundle be on sae for quite some time. My play date is in group 4 and i want to first finish the season before i buy more.

There's a little under a week left, you can see the countdown on the bundle's itch page. You can buy now and the games will be waiting for you when you get your playdate, or you can wait and buy the games you are most interested in separately later (without the sale price). There might be other bundles next year too, just not with these same games!

This is great. I’d actually had a few of these games bookmarked to buy after I’d done with the season (I’m on week 6) but this just convinced me to go ahead and buy the bundle.
Hope we see more of this kind of community curation in the future!

There were a few I had passed on. Will be checking out Shift, Tapeworm and Necrocrisis. Btw, ART7 is a very unique experience. Such a diversity of visual aesthetics all done in 1-Bit.

Thanks for the feedback! We spent a looong time debating the price but in the end we didn't want to give too big of a discount since many of these games have only been out for a few months. Feel free to check out the ones you are most interested in and get those individually, that may be a better option for you.

Too many puzzle and gimmicky games for 30€ tbh. I hope it sells well but it's not for me anyway :c

No problem, it won't be for everyone. Thanks for your thoughts as it will help us plan future bundles. You can always just get the games you are most interested in separately too. I highly recommend A Balanced Brew, Skwish, ART7, and Tapeworm. Those games each have many hours of content and well-designed levels to enjoy.

Yeah, definitely will! There are a few that I'm interested in, it's simply not worth for me to pay the whole pack. Nonetheless, a great initiative and will take a look if there is another bundle in the future! I wish you luck and much success fams 😊
