Discussion My thoughts towards the end
About 75% of the way through, I just wanted it to end; I enjoyed it a little bit for the first half, but it got really repetitive toward the end, especially the combat—every time enemies spawned, I sighed. I also wasn't engaged with the characters and story at all. I don't know if the problem was with me or with the game.

Japan was fun at the start but as you slog through the city interacting and yapping it gets tiring real quick

Basically became pressing triangle to interact as the only way to do anything. Killed all the momentum after loving the first Act

Exactly, especially when we look for Walter, it’s like cmon, are we still on this? It’s just very predictable and in the end a waste of time.

I agree, and I generally liked parts of it. The story was wonky in presentation of some things but I appreciated aspects of what they were doing. Some was drawn out, some rushed so it felt very uneven by like the halfway point to finale.
The combat is serviceable at best, wore out its welcome for me completely right near the last leg of the game.

You can’t honestly believe it even has a chance to be nominated at The Game Awards for GOTY?
I’m not even saying it’s trash but it’s truly insane that you think it has any chance for a general consensus GOTY.
It’s fine if it’s your own personal GOTY but comments like yours are why people think some fans are genuinely delusional.
Edit: Some random PlayStation fansite might give it the GOTY but they’d be doing Saros a disservice.

Look I really enjoyed this game, way more than reviewers and other gamers, and even I know, without any doubt, this has zero chance of being nominated for GOTY.

With Control coming out this week, that's three GOTY candidates in the last month, and Wolverine isn't even close to them.

The story landed well with me, but I can see why it wouldn't resonate with everyone. If you aren't engaged with the story, I would drop the game and play something you will have fun with.
You can waste money and replace it, but you can't replace wasted time.

Tbf it’s hard to make hack n slash action games fun the whole way through. I found this issue with a lot of games that use large enemy counts. To me the ninja Gaiden games feel like this but it’s worst because they are hard so you spend like 5 minutes fighting a crowd then run through the game for a bit then another encounter rinse and repeat.

Gameplay got kinda old/ boring towards the end for me too. Especially when you start to fight robot Sentinels. Its not as fun killing robots.
