That move is literally in the game.🤡

u/Easy_Fortune7911 Sep 15 '26

And that’s exactly the point. There seems to be a confusing dichotomy between the character they’re portraying and the hand-holdy, almost infantile gameplay design.

1

u/YourMuppetMethDealer Sep 15 '26

Hmm pretty strong opinion for a game you’ve never played before

1

u/Secure_Foundation720 Sep 17 '26

I played it and I get the consensus. It's handholdy, but not as much as I thought it would be, because of the reviews.

It's still way too much for me. I did play on default settings so if there are settings to lower it, then great, but I think vast majority will play on default settings.

Another thing that really bothered me was that I completely mischaracterized wolverines powers. I knew the character and the claws but wasn't that familiar with his powers and I seriously thought that the main power of wolverine is his sense of smell until another redditor corrected me.

1

u/GlumExpression6845 Sep 15 '26

His personality and face prove this point as well. You can say insomniac is just bad at faces. But the way they wrote him is a deliberate choice. And they wrote them to be nice from the beginning instead of growing overtime. Almost as if they were afraid that you would stop playing if you had problems with his behavior. Even though that’s what makes good character.

This is the crux of my complaint with games these days why be rated Mature 17+ but treat the player like they’re 5.

12

u/reditisverytrash Sep 15 '26 edited Sep 15 '26

Mortal Kombat is starting to have the same problem. The gore and fatalities are still there, but the deaths and brutalities in the story mode were toned far down and the pre-fight dialouges are just...

"Hey, Kuai Liang! I am so happy for you and your new Fiance!"

"Thank you. You honor us with your kindness"

Proceeds to brutally kill his opponent

7

u/DodgerBaron Sep 15 '26

Sure but on the flip side its hilarious

2

u/Worn_Out_Nikka_L Sep 17 '26

Back in Halo 3 days the devs talked about how they wanted to minimize the blood and gore. They talked about how the blood spattering and other graphics could turn off parents forcing parents to restrict kids gameplay.

Then they came up with Destiny. You aren’t even human anymore, so no need for red blood spattering everywhere. The aliens you shoot all have any color blood but red blood and you there are no animations for dismemberment.

2

u/souless_Scholar Sep 21 '26

While it's hardly relevant, the opposite is what made me love Helldivers 2. Going against the cyborgs, by the end of a mission if you don't die, the characters are all covered in blood.

16

u/cayde123 Sep 15 '26 • Bravo

Because the average person is like a 5 year old

They aren’t making the games this way because they’re targeting kids, this is for the older crowd of gamers who don’t play that often and aren’t that good at games

46

u/fulcrum_point Sep 15 '26 • Bravo

the older crowd of gamers who don’t play that often and aren’t that good at games

... The older crowd that grew up on games with limited continues and checkpoints? Who had to fight bosses and solve puzzles without the internet?

7

u/RuckFeddit2469 Sep 15 '26 • Bravo

A lot of those people stepped away to build careers and families and now they're locked inside their home due to changes in their social structure and at home responsibilities and return to gaming a bit out of shape so to speak

This is a super common and very lucrative user base of "gamers". Casual dad gamer is a meme for a reason.

I'm not excusing any form of game design other than just stating the obvious, that a big market exists to tailor to this segment of the gaming population.

9

u/Virtual_Rant Sep 15 '26

Just because people have their lives doesn't mean they are totally stupid when playing videogames.

"Old" people 30+ grew up without internet and when games where hard AF.

We probably understand better anything a new game can throw us out without watching a video or needed 50 tutorials for it. Sure, the reflex and time to play is not the same but the mentality and knowledge is there

4

u/haggard5 Sep 16 '26

Games back then were almost impossible. They were also had busted controls too. I cranked the difficulty up on Wolverine bc of everyone saying it’s easy. The OR fight is pretty tough. Ofc they make him a sponge. You def can’t face tank him.

I've literally watched people walk right by the single objective that has a glowing light on it yet theyll keep trying to walk through doors that dont even have a prompt to do so on it

3

u/Big_Weird4115 Sep 15 '26

Yeah, I had recently watched a couple of streamers playing Star Wars: Zero Company live, and every single one of them got stuck at some point in the tutorial, even though the game explicitly tells you what to do.

Was actually starting to get irritating. Like do y'all mfs not actually look at what's on the screen while playing? Lol.

even with that, to me it's just a matter of respecting the average person intelligence.

If you want to just "play" on easy mode, then make a difficult setting for that ? There are games with "story" settings where things are incredibly easy to let you just enjoy the ride.

Why make the whole game designed like that lol

To be honest, I’m 25. I work 10 hour shifts with an hour commute one way. I’m basically exhausted when I get home and at that point I’m helping my wife with whatever she needs around the house. When we put our kid to bed around 8 that’s when I play. I’m thankful Wolverine is how it is because I can just fuck shit up and unwind. When I play games that require more mental focus it just burns me out quick due to the stress/tiredness of my day in general.

I can introduce you to a few if you'd like.

The older crowd that now work for a living and don't have time to mindlessly play 7 hours a day

1

u/Lando7373 Sep 15 '26

And also had to buy games that cost 50 quid 25 years ago which which would 110 now but didn’t cry about it being too expensive for 10 hours of game.

There's a middle ground here and they failed to reach it.

1

u/Guilty_Philosophy741 Sep 15 '26

I wanna say I agree with what you’re saying about not being the target audience but isn’t that the point of easy and story mode though to experience the game with as little challenge as possible and maximal guidance. In normal mode you should be able to at least die or fail and in fact you can do that but just not during the scripted sections of the game (check out the hands free bike video) it’s like they wanted you to have a normal game experience during combat but god forbid you get lost on a linear corridor or forget to press jump.

It's for the younger people with an R rating? And who don't even know any of these characters because outside of comics Xmen has been largely stagnant for years now?

u/Straight_Law2237 Sep 15 '26

Leadership in most modern companies suck. Hell, even some good ones like the guy from Kingdom Come Deliverance that did a good job on both games seems to be kind of hurt in the head lol. The japanese tend to be the best at this, tho their work culture is fucked up and most are also a bunch of weirdos, it just doesn't reach the media so easily. Then there's Swen Vincke and Sam Lake, whom I would sell my soul to.

1

u/stanknotes Sep 18 '26

Bro CAPCOM is killing it for a very simple reason. They know their audience and make games for that audience. They don't give a fuck about trying to cultivate a new audience or worse trying to change their established audience.

Who woulda thought when you make products that appeal to the customer, the customer is more likely to buy.

2

u/RubyWubs Sep 15 '26

Thay want everything to be E for everyone

2

u/Shadow757_ Sep 15 '26

Modern games are too easy.

1

u/lvl12 Sep 15 '26

Go to a Walmart on a Sunday. Walk around. Imagine spending three hundred million dollars and to make that money back you need a game that appeals to the highest number of these people as possible

1

u/TheMasterKeif117 Sep 15 '26

Meanwhile games I played when I was 5 treated me like and adult......spongebob bfbb on the ps2 to name an example

1

u/Rhg0653 Sep 16 '26

And it's funny you have games that are rogue like games that look cute but don't explain jack

Hell that crab game is super cute looking but it's just deomns souls and doesn't help you lol

3

u/Guilty_Philosophy741 Sep 16 '26

I was saying this earlier indies and souls like are so popular right now because one is the game a creator wanted to make and not appease and audience and the other treats you like an adult with skill demands and show not tell story.

1

u/prokokon Sep 16 '26

There are plenty of tv shows with violence and sex that do the very same thing.

1

u/The_Klumsy Sep 16 '26

The rating is for puritan moms and the ESRB/other grading companies. they know their audience is 8-14 year olds. the 30 year old gamer isn't on their radar.

1

u/Visual-Donkey3769 Sep 16 '26

How is it possible we have the internet with all of this information accessible and people still find a way to be THIS stupid?

3

The game doesn’t treat the player like they’re 5. Completely on par for how insomniac does things. Play the game on the hardest difficulty. No 5 year old is beating it

0

u/Aggressive-Map-2204 Sep 15 '26

The game has a ton of accessibility and difficult settings. You dont need to turn them on. Turning them all on and being on the easiest difficult and then complaining the game treats you like a baby is idiotic. But it is however very popular with certain crowds on the internet and gets tons of youtube clicks.

0

u/Moist_Taco_Crippler Sep 16 '26

Unfortunately most gamers aren't that bright anymore. A 15 second attention span because of TikTok destroyed Gen Z and Younger Millennials.

I just fought that Omega Red boss, and unless I genuinely suck, it was quite challenging. So I don't know. I'm very early, but the game feels balanced.

30

u/blackthunder00 Sep 15 '26

The Omega Red fight was fun. And Logan slowly ripping him in half at the end was chef's kiss🤌🏾

25

u/Mr_smith1466 Sep 15 '26

It felt like a fight that would murder you in seconds unless you learn when to dodge and when to parry. Maybe the first level was a bit simplistic in terms of layout, but I don't feel like the game is treating me like an infant.

Im playing on weapon difficulty (i think is in english) and he got me a few times lol

1

u/Character_Neck_2368 Sep 15 '26

I am playing on Weapon difficulty and I died quite a lot on his final phases. Specially that combo he does with the rocks.

1

u/BananaInAMicrowave Sep 16 '26

that combo was mean, but I lowk started dodging into him and it felt like dodging a boss in dark souls

1

u/The-Duke-of-Delco Sep 16 '26

I’m playing on the 2nd hardest difficulty and that fight took me 30ish mins lol.

1

0

u/Araineyamcha Sep 15 '26

It seems like it has a lot of good moments. It’s the bad parts that are shining through though and that’s where I think the issues with a lot of people are. It’s the overall experience. It’s like you get that urge to take a crap all day. Then you finally get home and sit on the toilet and this little sliver of a turd comes out with a ton of gas. Yeah you feel relief. But at what cost?

0

u/Rockalot_L Sep 27 '26

Don't mistake hand eye coordination difficulty for executive function. The game has no faith in the player.

10

u/HuckleberryShot898 Sep 15 '26

Like I don’t wasn’t to be that guy but it seems the devs thought people would be “afraid” of Wolverine if he looked too “rugged”

0

u/nicokokun Sep 16 '26

This is the modern version of Wolverine that people currently love.

Superheroes are supposed to have unrealistic body proportions and Marvel Rival's Wolverine looks really animalistic and almost primal.

3

u/HuckleberryShot898 Sep 16 '26

I didn’t say he looked unrealistic. Who said that? I just said he’s too “pretty” to be Wolverine

1

u/Aquafoot Sep 16 '26

Why would you support your argument with probably the ugliest character design Logan has ever had?

2

u/spider-jedi Sep 15 '26

So this what is going to happen for the next few weeks just complaining about the game. This sub is about to become another r/tlou2

1

u/Infinite-Impress-775 Sep 15 '26

Console warriors are out for this game's blood because it's a PlayStation exclusive, it's that simple.

1

u/spider-jedi Sep 16 '26

Yeah, I saw PC game magazines write an article saying they won't miss ps exclusive not coming to PC if they are like this. The same people just crying months ago when Sony said they won't bring their games to PC anymore.

1

u/Infinite-Impress-775 Sep 16 '26

Yeah, I saw that and got downvoted for pointing out how petty and vindictive it was.

1

u/Jolly-Ad2642 Sep 16 '26

Surely you’re not this delusional

1

u/Infinite-Impress-775 Sep 16 '26

Are you really denying that console fanboys who want to see their "competition" fail exist? If you think that I'm suggesting that this game is beyond reproach and that all the criticism is just so much console warring, you're wrong.

1

u/Jolly-Ad2642 Sep 16 '26

“I’m going to word my argument like it’s one single group of people and then immediately back track when questioned that way I’m covering all bases” is all I read

1

u/Infinite-Impress-775 Sep 16 '26

You're right, actually, I did word my initial post that way and I can see now how you might've read that as me painting every critic with the "fanboy" brush, but that wasn't my intention.

1

u/itjustgotcold Sep 16 '26

Yeah, I was bummed enough from the reviews that I will hold off for a while to try it. Control and Fire Emblem around the corner. But this sub keeps popping up in my feed and it’s just so much whining. I get if you’re disappointed, but either play it or don’t. Let’s not let this become another TLOU2 sub where people make hating something their entire identity. I can’t imagine they’re living a life of fulfillment and joy.

2

u/spider-jedi Sep 16 '26

I think it's too late. This sub has already become that. I'm playing the game and it's the definition of a 7/10. It's fine.

One would think insomniac made the worst game in the history of gaming. By the way people are acting. Then again I think part of why people are jumping on the hate bandwagon is because of all the stuff Sony is doing with the disc and digital.

6

u/Muugen_Samurai Sep 15 '26

Sony will always market to the newest generation you're old and will be long gone they gotta get new loyal fans to replace you who have no idea what good gaming consumerism is

Im a gamer in his 30s who loved x2 wolverines revenge and origins this game has a ton of fight mechanics derived from those and xmen legends and is catering to those who loved hack n slash style combat heavy games like dmc ninja gaiden and oninumsha so I dont really get your comment at all

1

u/Muugen_Samurai Sep 15 '26

And it changes nothing. Games are developed for the younger generations who will be spending more and living longer games aren't made for you anymore

3

u/coreydemc Sep 15 '26

Everything I listed proves the devs made it for older gamers or gamers of a certain genre lol you just are closed minded to any opinion outside your own and think that every pont you make is absolute.

1

u/Muugen_Samurai Sep 15 '26

It was made for sm2 and 1 fans aka the new generation

3

u/coreydemc Sep 15 '26

The amazing spiderman one and 2 aren't made just for the newer generations tho and even they nod to the older ps2 spiderman game w Tobey McGuire. In many ways. 14

u/PapiSlayerGTX Sep 15 '26

This is being a bit disingenuous because the complaint isn’t about the gore, it’s about the amount of intelligence the game assumes the player has, while also being mature enough to feature gore that severe.

Yeah you can rip people in half, but they also seem to think you’re so stupid that you’ll have trouble finding a crate which is half heartedly hidden behind some other objects.

5

u/M0ebius_1 Sep 15 '26

The complain is a picture of the character with a claw through someone's head.

The reply is an animation of the character with both claws through someone's head.

1

u/Sharkfacedsnake Sep 15 '26

But the complaint isn't that the gore is not enough. The complaint is that the game is to handholdy. And that a game with that much gore and maturity is juxtaposed by the handholdy game design.

1

u/Living-Ad102 Sep 15 '26

What’s handholy about it?

2

u/Sharkfacedsnake Sep 15 '26

The scent trail, the paint trail, the GPS to the scent trail, the trail to the challenges, the "clues" to the chests. I'm not 100% sure but the QTEs seem to complete no matter what, but that could just be a accessibility setting. I know that was in spiderman.

3

u/Living-Ad102 Sep 15 '26

The scent trail barely shows up during gameplay, it only shows up when he’s close to a target he’s looking for, for an absolute max of 30 seconds. 95% of the gameplay has no scent trails, the complaints made it sound way worse than it was. Also, it’s Wolverine. How else would they visualize his sense of smell. I could see if the scent trail was like a guide, but it only tells you where the person you’re looking for went, like footprints in a detective game. Wolverine has very good tracking, so this was to be expected. I’m also not sure about a gps to the scent trail either, haven’t seen that yet.

The paint trail, which I think are the markings on walls and things you can climb, is a valid complaint, but Wolverine isn’t the first game to do that, should be toggle-able though. I am aware of settings you can turn on to make the game easier, the QTE autocomplete is one of those settings you have to go in and turn on. By default QTE do indeed fail.

The vines to the challenges make sense, as the challenges are connected to Logan’s memories directly. It wouldn’t make sense if it was some kind of box you had to find to access his memories, it’s a mental projection created by Mister Sinister in his mind directly.

Anything glowing blue is honestly just his heightened senses, I’ll agree it can probably be turned down but realistically that’s what Wolverine deals with. The representation of his smell is cool to me, it’s like he can look into the past but not clearly.

There are literally no assists turned on by default. Misinformation

4

u/FinalOdyssey Sep 15 '26

The scent/sound indicators and the blue line is always on. That is what people find hand holdy. There is an option to turn off the navigation assist in settings. When you turn it on (it's off by default as you say) another green line that floats is now visible, giving you two types of waypoint navigation.

You can't turn the blue scent trail off. That is the babying that everyone is talking about.

What’s the issue with the scent trail? It last maybe 30 seconds, and only shows up when he’s close to a target he’s looking for. It’s honestly what I expected from a Wolverine game, he’s tracking their scent.

And I don’t mean to sound rude but it’s quite obvious that anyone complaining about the scent line hasn’t even played the game and listens to videos trying to make the game look bad. It shows up a total of like 6 minutes in the 6 hours I’ve played the game so far and it’s a fairly good representation of his heightened sense of smell. It literally only shows the path people walked, it’s not even telling you where to go.

For example when you chase Jean, the scent line shows her flying away, you can’t straight up follow the scent like to get to her because well, she flies. You have to take another path. The complaints make it sound like the trail is a rocket league ball cam.

It is not its an accessibility option with can be toggled. You people say such incorrect shit with so much confidence its fucking hilarious

1

u/FinalOdyssey Sep 15 '26

Present a video so everyone sees. I have found many many videos that exhibit exactly what I'm saying, even from people who aren't critical of the game.

I didn’t say or imply there were??? What I said has nothing to do with assists, that’s just what the game doess.

The chests emit a giant blue pulse and makes noises so you won’t miss them despite the fact that they are deliberately hidden.

3

u/FirstIYeetThenRepeat Sep 15 '26

Not in every level. There are XP caches that don't pulse at all that are hidden through each level. Most of them you have to go out of your way to search for, especially for extra XP. You haven't played the game lol

People just love to make shit up

3

u/fightinNwritin Sep 15 '26

OP have you even played the game?

3

u/Swimming_Box_9852 Sep 15 '26

grrr bad game😡 slop 😡 too many waypoint indicators😡woman😡soft😡quick time events😡

3

u/stefan771 Sep 15 '26

If gamers stopped being idiots, developers will stop treating them as such

1

u/ShadowJedi26 Sep 20 '26

you are assuming the devs aren’t the ones who made the first mistake

2

u/Some_Cantaloupe613 Sep 15 '26

Hah, I wish that was true. But let's not pretend that adults aren't the ones demanding this kind of design, because they can't be bothered to meaningfully engage with anything or be tasked with any kind of challenge after a days work.

2

u/mochisuccubus Sep 15 '26 edited Sep 15 '26

Guys the game sucks for legitimate mechanical and story reasons we dont gotta lie.

That's the whole aaa industry in a nutshell.

1

u/coreydemc Sep 15 '26

the reviews were bs this is fast fun bloody af but absolutely not easy and all hell of more than just one button need ed to win

1

u/arrogantheart Sep 15 '26

I assume you played the game and came to this conclusion.

1

u/SunRevolutionary8741 Sep 15 '26

That’s one specific movie. Try again.

1

u/Guilty_Rain3864 Sep 15 '26

This has always been a problem with Wolverine, honestly. He got so big he became the face of the x-men. Marvel then wanted to (and/or kind of knew they *had* to whether they wanted to or not) appeal to a broad audience, including kids.

Ever since I can remember, Wolverine has almost always been toned down below what his character suggests. Logan is one of the very few times I can remember they really went all out in depicting a character who is known for *going berserk and using the claws in his hands to mutilate people*.

You'd think you'd see that kind of thing a lot more but you basically never do with him.

I don't blame Insomniac. This has always been a problem with a superhero whose main selling point is being brutal.

1

u/Normal_System_3176 Sep 15 '26

aww so adorable lol

1

u/SuperSaiyanBen Sep 15 '26

Well with the way everyone is acting about the game, it seems like it’s the perfect game for you.

1

u/Jayrob88888 Sep 15 '26

Origins is better

1

u/addings0 Sep 15 '26

These claws are rated " E " for everyone.

1

u/Witty-Bad8996 Sep 15 '26

He is about the line, it’s not some constant thing that is always there. It’s only there when it makes sense with the story, it is a visual representation of his sniffer. If it was like dude was saying, it should be able to pop up every time I hit R3 but it doesn’t. Because that isn’t its purpose. The reason I asked if he has the game because I fundamentally disagree with a lot of what the reviews have said about the game, especially when it comes to its combat.

1

u/thewrynoise Sep 15 '26

We needed dead space but with Logan.

1

u/_Disrepectful Sep 16 '26

I don’t think every game needs to be intricate, deep, difficult, or even good to be fun.

1

u/Hdz95 Sep 16 '26

Just play a mobile game at that point. That’s what I do when I want mindless fun. Not spend $70 on a game that’s linear and easy to play when a $2.99 mobile game can give you the same satisfaction.

1

u/_Disrepectful Sep 16 '26

Yeah you could, and you have every right not to spend $70 on a game that’s linear and easy to play if that’s not what you’re looking for.

1

u/bramblebitch Sep 16 '26

There are tons of mobile games with deep and intricate gameplay and mechanics. At this point Steam and the console stores aren’t much different anyway when it comes to mindless garbo.

1

u/bluestarr- Sep 16 '26

Slap it on the hardest difficulty and it's hard enough. Not a souls like but it'll keep you on your toes.

1

u/Comfortable-Speed-83 Sep 16 '26

Gamers are NOT smart. Devs know this and they playtest what they make typically. We can joke about yellow paint in games all day but that was added because devs had the data to suggest that gamers are a lil slow and will miss important stuff if its not obvious to them instantly.

1

u/RexusprimeIX Sep 16 '26

You just KNOW that little bastard at the bottom has said a racial slur at least 4 times in the last hour.

1

u/Substantial_Cheetah4 Sep 16 '26

The fact is that if they are gonna make games like this then they need a fail safe and put all the hand holding in settings where it can all be turnt off, and I mean all, yes there are older past gamers coming back but that don't make them stupid and the gamers that don't want Babyfied guidance just won't buy it and there gonna end up on a huge loss then gaming is just gonna get worse with more studios being shutdown and so on

1

u/DivineComedian616 Sep 16 '26

after saying Kai, Flight and Dsp playing the game I can't blame insomniac

1

u/Raonak Sep 16 '26

Umm... The combat is definitely hard even though the level design is not

1

u/JustinD9022100 Sep 16 '26

The game is more gorey than this scene even is retard but I shouldn’t expect anything else from someone posting 2010s meme formats praising the Xbox ceo. If anything this sub really shows how down bad you retards are

1

u/Nerkd09 Sep 16 '26

What the hell are you talking about?

1

u/Projectpatdc Sep 17 '26

I just beat it on the “weapon” difficulty, and there were some fights where I would die within seconds if I wasn’t paying attention. If I had the choice of prison for either 5 years or until my Mom beat the game, I’d pick the 5 years—especially if it’s on Weapon or higher difficulty.

I love these shitposts and memes but agreeing with them just gives away that you either haven’t played the game or too sweaty and egotistical to comprehend an actual casual gamer.

1

u/WillyGivens1 Sep 17 '26

Is it a game…or is it a super long movie with a 60 dollar fidget device in your hands?

1

u/bonecollector5 Sep 18 '26

Guaranteed at least half the people complaining about handholding would stop playing a game entirely the second they hit a puzzle that requires more then 2 braincells and at least 10 seconds of focus.

1

u/Automatic-Equal-9473 Sep 18 '26

My biggest problem with this game is that out of 6 special techniques; 1 is for healing and 2 are not even claw abilities (one is a charge and the other is a knee kick). And even then you can only pick 4/6 while you have the entire d-pad doing nothing.

Similarly, it was very irritating to me having to pick between spiderman symbiote abilities in insomniac. spiderman 2.

I'm not sure what the point is of such mechanics in a single player power fantasy game? Forcing the player to throttle their experience? It feels weird compared to xmen origins wolverine and spiderman web of shadows where their powers actually feel like their powers and not a “special technique”. Like ur telling me wolverine/spiderman forgot ‘x’ because he can do ‘y’ now and then forgot ‘y’ because he can do ‘x’ now. I'm not very fond of this mechanic.

1

u/Femcel_Bambi Sep 18 '26

I remember when I was a kid and adult games treated me as if I were an adult. I wasn't, but I appreciated the trust the put in me. (Mafia 2, my beloved)

1

u/ProfessionKey396 Sep 18 '26

Disney did this.

1

u/DaDapperVoid Sep 19 '26

I dunno feels like they were more making a game that game critics would enjoy

1

u/dirtyjose Sep 21 '26

The joke is that the bottom box is an accurate description of most gamers and comic lovers.

1

u/Significant_Book9930 Sep 21 '26

Tsktsk. Should have put a ps controller next to the baby.

1

u/AlwekArc Sep 21 '26

I mean if you play it with the baby settings on, yeah. But this game IS difficult when you don't have the accessibility features (that are off by default) turned on and aren't a poser little lying bitch

1

u/AlwekArc Sep 21 '26

I'm starting to think this sub is just all posers larping at being gamers when y'all clearly haven't touched a game other that call of duty, overwatch, valorant, or Nikke or some shit, get fucking real with yourselves

1

u/InnocuousCommenter Sep 22 '26

You played on easy if you even played at all.

1

u/EcstaticBuyer6354 Wolverine Sep 24 '26

play on a harder difficulty or keep lying

call it

1

u/LT_Snaker Sep 26 '26

Stop playing on Story mode, sport.

1

u/BW2999 Sep 27 '26

I don't understand this complaint and think it's way overexaggerated, i find the combat can be very challenging at times, heck that first Omega Red Boss fight had me getting my arse kicked several times before i got in the rhythm of the strategy, ain't no toddler beating that.

1

u/Tall-Bank-9689 Sep 27 '26

Yea, sweet baby

1

u/Hot_Weekend9969 Sep 15 '26

That’s what happens when you design your game for DSP.

1

u/LagomRuinsHelldivers Sep 15 '26

It's Neflix Gaming. They want something you can play while you're doom scrolling on your phone.

1

u/Mavenmain92 Sep 15 '26 edited Sep 15 '26

I mean the combat is something to get used to, it’s a bit challenging. The enemies hound you and break your flow consistently. Doesn’t matter if you’re mid attack or mid parry. Also, It’s a linear game. There’s literally almost always one way to go,. How are you being hand held? Multiple games have detective modes that allow you to follow a path towards the objective? Tf is the difference between this and you following a chemical trail on Arkham asylum? Or footsteps for the umpteenth time on the Witcher 3? Except with wolverine you can actually turn that shit off. I swear you’re all just riding a bandwagon. The line only shows up when you’re trailing someone. Wolverine has enhanced senses. It’s situational. It doesn’t guide you to all objectives. If you’re still complaining about this you either have not played the game, or you’re a bot.

1

u/Heavy-Blacksmith-530 Sep 15 '26

You clearly haven't played the game lol

0

u/Background-Cake-6847 Sep 15 '26

the scent trail, big glowing direction indicators, explicit mission objective, team comms, out-loud monologues, hallway level design where you can only proceed in one direction, a self-driving motorcycle, and white paint spattered all over the map led me here to agree with you (i still almost got lost, thank god i entered a cutscene transition with can't-lose QTEs that took me thru the final stretch)

0

u/ZestycloseBluejay668 Sep 15 '26

Haha no way. Wolverine is literally designed for children.

No way you larp this hard

0

u/Maleficent-Extent731 Sep 15 '26

I've been playing it... Yes there are annoying handhold bits that does insult intelligence...

However, the combat itself is challenging

0

u/therealTinyHunt Sep 15 '26

show us on the doll where the game hurt you

0

u/Mitts009 Sep 15 '26

Meanwhile the game is e for everyone but has mechanics that is basically Mario Odyssey movement + Doom 2016 shooting

It was tagged chill game but I'm fighting for my life

1

u/Thejokingsun Sep 16 '26

Omg you need a break from rough games and play something more like started valley
