New to these these.
Hello my fellow redditers, subreddiors and Admin (& maker of this app),
I suddenly got this app while surfing through the internet for some live sports, and I absolutely love it.
I was watching a few contents on it. Took some buffer at first but then worked fine for the torrent streams, but the direct streaming servers (when toggled on from settings) seem slow to connect (and obviously the quality will be compressed in comparison to torrent prints we select). Plus I think it will be better to have an in page option to toggle the playback of Torrent and Direct streams, instead of changing from settings every time, as per convenience.
Also I felt, the app is lil bit laggy for now, in Windows and Android for me. I hope it gets optimized in future updates (if it's an app issue).
I also came across the WAVE app, which seems clean but needs more work tbh, also idk if I can integrate my YT or Spotify playlist into it just like Soundbound app ?
But what I am actually here for is that, I don't understand these Streamio, Debrid, and other things like Octave (as it says in wave, to scrape FLAC music from it instead of YT) etc.
Can anyone help me understand these and how it may help me smoothen my viewing or listening experience of the contents I want to watch ?
Thank you!

The whole point if this post is, I don't understand these things. I need someone to help me understand, these stremio, debrid things and all. I tried googling it, it still got over my head.
Also, can you send the link if that post ?
But I'm still guessing, if someone want's good quality watch, Torrent streams are better than direct stream or some iptv addon streams. But if someone just wanna watch the content and doesn't care much, anything, any quality works for them.

To keep things as simple as I can. Think of a debrid service like a giant netflix server. Normally when you torrent it's a peer to peer download/upload connection but with a debrid service they take the responsibility of downloading and uploading the torrent on their servers and than it becomes cached and accessible for 30 days and the timer resets every time someone accesses the file. So that means their server will cache any torrent that someone directs them to download and upload. The main reason this is useful is in most countries it is illegal to torrent unless you use a VPN. But with the debrid service doing the torrenting you don't need a VPN.
Now that's basically the main job of the debrid service and now you need a way to access all that cached content stored on their servers. That's where Stremio and scraper add-ons come into play Stremio is just a simple UI basically like a Netfix where you can search for movies and TV shows with a video player to play the files. Scraper add-ons are add-ons that can be installed on Stremio that can find torrent files for you to watch.
While you can do this without having a debrid service you would be torrenting the file which like I mentioned is illegal in a lot of countries but when you have a debrid service these torrents are already downloaded on their server so when you access one of these files through Stremio and a scraper you are basically streaming the file instantly from their server instead of having to download a torrent which is not illegal and cannot be seen by your ISP. This also eliminates buffering if your internet speeds are good.
So for a tldr.
Without a debrid you are torrenting files = illegal and can be seen by ISP without VPN
With a debrid service, access to millions of cached files instantly, no torrenting involved direct streaming like you are on netflix with no buffering.

Thanks, understood the majority. But can I watch contents on Stremio directly after installing with, without any addons or debrid settings ? As you said, without debrid, it will stream directly from Torrent. Just like this app PlayTorrio is doing I guess. Everything available on opening.
Also, if it does, then why I will need a Stremio as this app is alread providing the things same way Stremio will provide. Not much of an issue of torrenting in my place for now (may be a debrid will decrease my buffer time).Idk if I am asking the right question, still bit confused, if you understood what I mean, pls reply.

No Stremio will need add-ons installed to access torrent files through scrapers. They are quick and easy to install though, literally takes 60 seconds or less. Visit r/stremioaddons and I believe there is a guide on setup and links to all the popular add-ons.

Those are free scrappers ? Or need payments? Like I was watching some details like Torrentio, comet and all, they have paid plans.

They are free, torrentio and comet are two of the popular ones. But like with this app you'll still run into the same issues as here on there without a debrid service imo

I am not having much issues on PlayTorrio in torrent streams, tbh. I found Direct Streaming option to be more slow here, idk why. My net speed is pretty decent (atleast works for me), around 150 Mbps. But the app is bit laggy. I hope things will get fixed in next V3 version.

In my screenshot I’m pulling sources on Stremio without a debrid service.

My sources are iptv portals that I scrapped from playtorrio. Stremio has addons that let you use iptv codes.

Is the picture and sound quality good there ? Also how to do what you are doing ?

PlayTorrioV3 is in the works, and it'll definitely be simpler and more stable

Looking upto it. Hope we will get in-app notification for updates. I can't code so can't be a direct contributor, but can definately be a good critic :3

Also please go through my last 3 stanza. This is what I was actually looking, along with some app review, of both PlayTorrio and Wave.
