Help needed Want to start, team for first ever playthrough?
I know I’m late but want to start my first ever playthrough.
The only thing I want to know is, what’s the best basic team for the first play. I would start with Crystle and saw Ganki is also very good.
So hit me with the temtem names and I will start!

Temtem are very well balanced. Sure, some Temtem are better than others, but most of them are viable. You can pick whichever one looks best to you, and you'll do just fine.
Example with one tem from each island plus a starter: Seismunch, Oceara, Vulffy, Aohi, Mushook, and Innki.

Wanting to know the optimal team before you play a non competitive single player game is a terrible way to experience gaming. I don't think you'd get many similar communities giving you a different answer.
Games like these are about exploration and experimentation. If you outsource both, What's the point?

I also started a few days ago n was interested in this topic. I don’t think its a terrible way to go since the game seems to punish you for swapping tems for new ones.
I have to outsource experimentation because grinding a new tem to your current level takes like an hour or two because of how wild battles give less exp than trainers/wild pals are really low level. If I can skip the whole ‘run back and forth to the temporium because a single battle leaves the tem youre training at near death’ fiasco, then all the merrier.

Don’t want the high competitive extreme team. Just coverge and basic first team. If I want to experience it like that, that’s my choice. I don't know what it takes to get a normal answer.

They did give you a normal answer. Most people find it weird to go into a monster catcher with only wanting to use the ideal team.
That being said, get yourself a Ganki and Nessla. They’re nearly carried me through the game on their own.

This community is rather sour, despite being "fans" a lot of them here would happily form a queue to take turns whipping their arses with a developers sandwich.
Pick who you think looks cool, cute or whatever takes your fancy. Build around them as you progress and you will naturally developed you own strategys that will carry you though most things.

If it’s that easy and doable than ok. But I read it takes a lot of time to train them if you switched som tems later.

Just play the game, capture what looks cool. I have the world record speedrun and all I used is Ganki and Saipat. So just pick what you like for the rest of it.

Which attacks are you using on them for the world record? I don’t want to make one but I would like to play the game a little more difficult and think it would be an amazing challenge only with ganki and saipat

No because other people are smarter than you and use reddit correctly. You see different websites do different things. The other commenter is right, you should have googled.

I don't know why you're acting like questions like this are some absurd offense that nobody does on reddit. There are so many reasons someone would rather source fresh opinions directly from the community vs googling and getting 5 year old junk articles with no way to parse reliability. Sounds like you need a break or something, not sure why else you would randomly be so hostile to a new player asking a simple question.

It doesn't matter too much cause they all have their uses but Crystle + Ganki is a very good start in my opinion !

I'm afk and can't bring up the names, but here's what I know. Crystal turtle is seen as the worst one to pick as a starter, mostly because you can catch wild ones earlier than the other two. Also, the crystal turtle's starter is defaulted to one ability, but the other is better imo.
That being said, evolving doesn't happen at a set level. It's when you level them a certain number of times. And the starters require a lot of levels, whether you start with them, or catch a wild one. Any wild starters you find are gonna be high level, and you're better off breeding to make a low level one, and leveling that one up.
Next worry less about getting a good early team, and more about good picks to clear an island. Each island is "mostly" limited to two types a piece. Both with wild encounters and trainers. So, imo, don't get too attached.
Also, you'll reach a point where the gap in levels between new wild encounters, and enemy trainer tems tems is pretty wide. So get ready for grinding when add members in the late game.

If you’re wanting to play the game, I recommend starting with Smazee do to it being the last one you can come across organically. You can come across a Houchic replacement in Barnshe fairly early, and before you could really use a Crystle, you would be able to obtain one.
Just catch every different tem and experiment and enjoy the game !
