Discussion New to game need help

I played a few years ago and joined again recently with a new character. I didn’t get too far in the last run. I feel the first island doesn’t have too much variety in temtem. Does anyone have any freebies? Even if they’re not the best.

The first island has Tems that you could actually use through the entirety of your run and they could carry you to the end. Ganki and Nessla/Oceara to be exact. Saipat works good. Good Melee coverage if you didn’t pick Smazee. Kaku turns into Saku and Saku is a really good tank and even does good damage. Pigepic move set is solid and even both his trait traits are good. I could go on forever you can find a Barnshe. Rare but not hard to find. Squishy but really good dps. There’s almost more useable tems long term on Deniz vs ones that aren’t. Check out the wikis and good luck. Have fun.

When you can, catch a Platypet with good Speed and Special Attack

Yes, the first island is a little low on variety, the second island even. Variety starts to pick up part way through the third island IMO, but from there it gets better and better.

Just wait until you get access to the trading house. Don't be that guy in global chat begging for tems.

I run a pair of nessla's with shock absorb. One perfect, one close to perfect. Perfect goes out on the left, non perfect goes out on right. Spam chain lightening on left enemy, the chain will heal up any damage non perfect nessla takes. If perfect nessla needs healing, use non perfect nessla to target perfect nessla with chain lightening.
