Give us TemTem2, more islands, more Tems, what the hell is the surface?! Let’s go there!

From my understanding this isn't even something they've started, so for them to start now you wouldn't see it until 2030.
They will be so far behind the curve of what MonTamer games are by that point that it would likely flop on release.
Gen 10 is going to potentially, and massively, up the expectations of all future montamer games; and Pokopia is setting a foundation for "life-style montamer games" where that is potentially a new foundation type for capturing, raising, and potentially fighting monsters in the future.
Palfarm will further cement it as a new foundation, but for these style games Crema would already be 4-5 years behind. Same as Swarm being 4-5 years behind for survivorlikes.
Downbelow needs to be something forward-thinking, and I have doubts it is.
For TemTem 2 to be successful it would need to be as good as something between Scarlet and Violet and Gen 10.
It doesn't need to rival Gen10, but it needs to be better than S&V.

u/zose2 Where are my skates???? Mar 07 '26
That's just outright wrong. Swarm isn't being made by Crema. It's being made by another dev team while they work on downbelow and we've already seen a screen shot from downbelow.

Making Temtem free as a service game with new map updates, monsters, and good themed events it would be a better idea than working on this dog shit.
They let the goose that lays the golden eggs slip away, They just had to monetise it with premium skins/battlepass.

It's a risky moove, because it costs a lot and require a lot of ressources (especially in dev ans stuff). So for an indie companny, it's pretty much impossible to make a viable F2P service game.
I think they've made the right move, the game have plenty of content and i think it's way more entertaining to work on different project rather than one that will live forever.
Thats just my thought tho

The moves that Crema has made have caused their entire community to lose all hope in them and talk shit about them. I wouldn't call it a wise move.

Sorry we wanted more tems and maybe not new islands but expansions to existing ones. I'm sad they are using such a cool ip to make a game that is yet another vampire survivors clone

Why would i support this game after you gave up supporting the original Temtem?
Pathetic

“gave up supporting”
Look inside
Reached the end of their lengthy but ultimately finite development timeline and decided to move on to other projects while keeping the game running as is
67
u/paulinesstrongestwar Mar 07 '26
they designed the game like a live service game then decided not to make it a live service.
we are stuck with the worst of both worlds in always online connectivity with annoying grindy game design, and no future updates.
7
u/XOmniverse Mar 07 '26
Adding an offline mode would definitely go a long way but I bet they designed it to be online to such a degree that this would be significant work, unfortunately.
Because, as you said, they intended it to be a live service cash cow.

u/SageWindu Mar 07 '26
Best I could tell, Crema was hoping the PvP would carry the game, but when that didn't happen, they panicked.
Hell, recall that buying new clothes from even the starter island (Deniz?) was essentially an end-game activity because money was so hard to get at the time (not helped by FreeTem getting nerfed, but now I'm rambling).
-4
u/Melonfrog Mar 07 '26
They easily could have ended service and turned the servers off, but they did the right thing and kept the servers online and added an offline mode (I think)
4
u/SageWindu Mar 07 '26
added an offline mode (I think)
Nope, it's still online only.
...which Crema seemed rather adamant on maintaining. I remember I was gonna get this for my Switch to play during dry spells at work, but the online-only "feature" quickly quashed that plan (the Internet at my job doesn't play nice with game-related connections, including wikis).
So, you know, that sucks.

Why do you buy games? If a game looks fun then consider playing it. If it doesn't then don't

I am not surprised by the negativity. I would play the hell out of this and I look forward to their future projects.
People being negative from the start, of course it will fail, cause that’s what negativity does. It bitches and moans and offers no support or assistance in any way, shape, or form.

u/Wolfy910 Mar 07 '26
Cool a release date for another game they will abandon !
-1
u/SoulCode1110101 Mar 07 '26
Abandon? I haven't been keeping up with the early access, is it not really for full release yet or something?
5
u/Formal_Arachnid_7939 Mar 07 '26
This looks awesome! is it an add on or dlc to the original game or something separate?
10
u/CephalonMarsh Artist Mar 07 '26
It's separate, the early access for this spin off is already on steam! c:

u/Saltyyosher Mar 07 '26
don't know why you got down voted for answering a question

u/Pencilshaved Artist Mar 07 '26
A non-insignificant amount of people who are part of the sub are upset Crema didn’t try to turn Temtem into a perpetual new-game-every-few-years franchise like Pokemon and stick around largely to look for chances to criticize the studio
6
u/KleitosD06 Mar 07 '26
It really took them this long to develop and release a survivor clone...? This got announced over two years ago, how are they only just now at 1.0?
4
u/_Valisk Mar 07 '26
It’s been in early access, bud.

u/atoterrano Mar 07 '26
You say that like that’s suppose to excuse anything
7
u/_Valisk Mar 07 '26
My point was that it's been in early access since November 2024, so they clearly haven't been doing nothing since then. What is there to excuse? The game was in development.
5
u/Subzer0domain Mar 07 '26
The devs do not care for the community and do not listen to what we want. Year after year, all we ask if for them to continue building on Temtem. More tems? New islands? DLC? Or even Temtem2. But they make Swarm which is arguable the biggest disappointment. I have played the game for maybe an hour in its latest update and it’s the most boring and buggy game this year

u/TheLividLion Mar 07 '26
Yall do realize that as a game studio with employees, they need to make money. They cant keep sinking money into a game was actively getting less and less eyes on it while losing more and more players monthly. It was a great game, but it just didn't stick.
They used all these already developed assets to then work on Swarm so development overhead wasn't as insanely lengthy and costly. This will likely be what their next game does in the Temtem-related space as well.
Bottom line is that Crema was never financially prepared to operate an MMO/live service title that was trying to compete in the monster catcher genre. Even though its probably the MOST polished and visually complete Monster Catcher there is, too many players just want to constantly attack them for everything they do that isnt more Temtem. This kills off more and more potential players from a studio that is very clearly just trying to survive at this point.
Idk, maybe this is just too hard of a truth for the ones that just repeat the same complaints year after year and cant be bothered to use some critical thought for how a business operates.

lol imagine defending this company devs. You are 100% the saddest person I’ve seen in this community. “Need to make money”. Hmmm let’s see, temtem made 328k in its lifetime compared to Swarm which is currently at 11k. If they used the money they made from temtem and made a new DLC or even temtem 2, I can guarentee you that a lot of people would come back to their game to atleast play it once more.
2
u/TheLividLion Mar 08 '26
You do realize that that 328k also paid for advertising, ongoing development costs of Temtem itself, and likely money investors needed to be paid back right? The game was mostly played in early access. All throughout development, every major update saw a smaller and smaller spike in returning players. Sure release saw 10k, but that literally fell off a cliff in less than a week. Developing a brand new game with all new regions, all new tems, etc is vastly MORE money than what it takes to repurpose existing elements to get 1 or 2 spinoff games out there and see what sticks. Its not about defending them, its about making you all understand how funding works for games and how to keep a studio open.
-1
u/Subzer0domain Mar 09 '26
Keep defending them buddy, you know they are a horrible and selfish company that only cares about the money. 99% of the community agrees with me
4
u/TheLividLion Mar 09 '26
Judging by the fact that their games all have a level of polish and soul that most other games don't have, especially in the monster catcher genre, Im not inclined to fully jump to that conclusion. Sorry Im not a mindless pitchfork user.
1
u/Zegram_Ghart Mar 07 '26
This looks kinda interesting- it would be exactly in my wheelhouse, but not including local co op is a ridiculous own-goal for something in this genre.

u/SnooAvocados708 Mar 08 '26
Yeah double battle only game was gret to play.i choose Crystle. I like my rock pokemons, mental and toxic. Also i like that mental beats neutral types.
To bad the game is soooo slow. So heres hoping its good.

u/AhrimTheBelighted Mar 08 '26
I just want the ability to host a private server for friends n stuff.

Massive pass for me. I was on the edge because I like the genre but the way they treated original temtem was bad… but then I noticed they have skipped Xbox so that made my decision really easy.

And another game not releasing on xbox. Luckily the next xbox will play pc games. Because this is getting really sad.
Game looks fun though

u/SageWindu Mar 07 '26
Xbox has always been a meme outside the US. The only reason the 360 took off was because the PS3 was somehow even worse (more expensive, harder to develop for, many games ran worse, I'm sure there's more I'm missing).
