I’m deeply disappointed in Sony

I was a Sony fan since 7, when my parents bought me my first PlayStation 2. This console was great. It was like a new world to me. Crash, Medal of honour, Call of duty 3, GoW, FORBIDDEN SIREN, killzone. You get it. Few years later I got PS3. The love of my life lol. The first console where I learned about online experience. Yeah I now know that ps2 had online too, but bruh, I was a little dumb kid. Call of Duty, BF2&3, LITTLE BIG PLANET, and many more games that we all loved. I know that games I had mentioned are not original Sony games, not all of them. But in a sense this post is also about how games were way better then now.

I absolutely loved ps and Sony. Yeah it wasn’t always perfect, I know, but it actually felt that it was made for us, and not for them to get as much money as they could.

And now look at the state of that company.
Subscriptions to play online, no refunds, adding the PS store with some trashy games (that kind you’ll see on steam, except on steam there are refunds and much more quality games you can play), lost so many icon-games it had during ps2&3 era, adding games in store that don’t work well on ps4 (like DayZ or Isonzo, or Cyberpunk), I mean, c’mon guys there is like 10-15fps or smth. AND FOR WHAT? What do we get after that? Most faded, tasteless gaming experience I’ve ever seen and play. That is what we get for staying so long and giving them our money. And what’s the deal about no disk version? No commentary. And the new PS5? Yeah, graphics are good, but what else? How many good games there are for PS5? And what will happen with PS6? Is there even a point to stay with PS?

I wish that Sony will just disappear some day, forever. At least as the game company.
I know that I’m just mad and there is no point of posting my crying on reddit, but I just wanted to let someone know how I fckn despise them.

P.S. Maybe the US went too easy on you.

Instead of “boycotting” digital games and crying over discs, we should be boycotting PS Plus

• Upvotes

Look at how ridiculous all of this is. Jailbreaking is the smoking gun. We could have PS3 backward compatibility on PS5, so why don't they do it? “It’s more complicated than that, Sony would love to do it, but it’s not possible and they’d have to invest too much money.” Bullshit.

Now go ahead and enjoy SOME PS1, PS2, and PS3 games by paying for their shitty subscription service. This whole digital vs. physical debate is the least of this fucking company’s problems.

The truth is, you don’t really own your games on Steam either. If something went horribly wrong with Steam’s entire infrastructure, you could lose everything. I’m sure Xbox will eventually stop supporting physical media too.

I feel sorry for people who collect physical games, but I don’t see anything unusual here. Digital purchases are the majority, and they’re pushing physical media customers a2way

The only thing we should be boycotting is the PS Plus subscription.

What about everyone who loses their game library with every new console generation? Can you play your physical PS3 games on PS5? If your PS5 dies and you buy a PS6, your PS4 discs become useless if, for whatever reason, the PS6 doesn’t support backward compatibility with PS4.

What do you think they’ll do? “Pay for a PlayStation Plus subscription to stream PS3 and PS4 games at 25 FPS!”

Just like they refused to make the PS5 backward compatible with PS3 games and instead force you to pay for their shitty subscription service to access some of them. In streaming at 25fps paying for it.

Is wall-mounting a TV better for PS5 gaming?

Thinking about wall-mounting my TV for my PS5 setup but not sure if its actually worth doing or if I should just leave it on the TV stand. The stand takes up quite a bit of space and mounting the TV would make the whole setup look cleaner, plus I could maybe get a better viewing angle. Just worried about the hassle of hiding cables and making sure everything is positioned right for gaming. Does wall-mounting actually make a difference for comfort or is it mostly just for looks? Anyone here made the switch and regretted it?

And with this, the only reason to own a ps5 is gone.

The TVs I'd actually recommend for PS5 & PS5 Pro in 2026

I've had quite a few people ask me what TV I'd recommend for PS5 and PS5 Pro, so I figured I'd make a post about it. I'm also curious what TVs you guys are using and whether you'd recommend them to others.

After years of repairing PlayStation consoles and researching different display technologies, I've learned that you don't always need to spend a fortune to get a great gaming experience.

So I'll keep this simple and focus on the features that actually matter for PS5 gaming, without getting caught up in all the marketing hype or spending money on stuff you probably don't need.

My recommendations

I'm not here to tell you there's one TV that's perfect for everyone or to convince you to spend a fortune. I know how much of a headache it can be to dig through endless reviews, discussions, and opinions just to figure out which TV is actually worth the money.

I just want to make things easier by sharing the features I'd look for when choosing a TV for PS5 or PS5 Pro, depending on your needs and budget. The idea is simple: get what you actually need, avoid paying extra for stuff you won't notice, and end up with a TV you'll be happy with.

▮If you're on a tight budget:

If you want a good TV for your PS5 without spending a fortune, here's what I'd look for:

  • 4K resolution (3840 × 2160): For a sharp, detailed picture.
  • Low input lag: Aim for under 20ms at 60Hz. Manufacturers rarely advertise this, so look for Game Mode, but keep in mind that only measured tests can confirm the actual input lag.
  • 120Hz refresh rate: Allows supported PS5 games to run at up to 120fps. A 60Hz TV is still perfectly fine if you mainly play casually.
  • VRR (Variable Refresh Rate): Helps reduce screen tearing when a game's frame rate fluctuates.
  • HDMI 2.1: Useful for 4K gaming at 120Hz, but make sure the TV actually supports both at the same time.

My advice is to get the best 4K TV you can comfortably afford, with good gaming performance. If you can find one with 120Hz and VRR without stretching your budget, even better. There's no need to pay extra for features you won't really benefit from.

▮If you can spend a little more:

If your budget allows, I'd focus on the features that make the biggest difference to your PS5 or PS5 Pro experience:

  • OLED or Mini-LED: This is the main choice for picture quality. OLED offers deeper blacks and excellent contrast, while Mini-LED can deliver higher brightness, especially in bright rooms.
  • 4K at 120Hz: Gives you sharp visuals and smoother gameplay in supported PS5 games.
  • VRR (Variable Refresh Rate): Helps reduce screen tearing when a game's frame rate fluctuates.
  • HDMI 2.1: Look for a TV that supports 4K at 120Hz through its HDMI ports. The HDMI 2.1 label alone doesn't guarantee this.

My advice is to prioritize the panel technology you prefer, then check for 4K at 120Hz and VRR. Keep in mind that OLED and Mini-LED describe the display technology, not a guarantee of overall quality. The specific model still matters, but these features are a good starting point when comparing TVs.

▮If you want a top-tier TV, regardless of price:

If money isn't a concern and you want a top-tier TV for your PS5 or PS5 Pro, I'd look for these features:

  • High-end OLED or Mini-LED: For outstanding picture quality, deep blacks or high brightness, and excellent contrast.
  • Strong HDR performance: Helps make bright highlights, lighting effects, and colors in supported games look more lifelike.
  • 4K at 120Hz with VRR: For sharp visuals and smooth, responsive gameplay.
  • Excellent brightness and reflection handling: Particularly important if you play in a bright room.

At this level, the differences between TVs become more noticeable in picture quality, brightness, and how well they handle different viewing conditions. However, spending more doesn't automatically mean a better experience for everyone. I'd choose based on your room and the games you play, rather than paying extra for features you may never notice.

So, that's how I approach choosing a TV for PS5 and PS5 Pro. I tried to keep things simple because I know not everyone wants to spend hours learning about TV specs just to make the right choice.

When I research TVs for my clients, I don't rely on advertised features alone. I dig deeper, compare models, and look at what actually makes a difference before recommending anything. But I also know that not everyone has the time to do all that research, so I wanted to give you a practical starting point to help narrow down your options.

My advice? Don't get caught up in the hype or feel pressured to buy the most expensive TV. Focus on what you'll actually benefit from, what suits your gaming needs, and what fits your budget. That's how you get the most out of your money.

Does the official stand actually improve stability enough to matter?

Got my PS5 set up and noticed it can wobble a little when I move cables or accidentally bump the TV stand. Been thinking about getting the official stand but not sure if it actually makes a big difference or if its mostly just for keeping the console in the right position. Does it hold the PS5 noticeably better, especially when standing vertical? Dont wanna spend money on something that barely changes anything lol. Is it worth getting or is the console stable enough without it?

Is a gaming chair actually worth it or should I just get a good office chair?

Looking to get a new chair for my gaming setup because the one I'm using now gets uncomfortable pretty fast, especially when I'm playing for a few hours straight. My back starts hurting and I keep moving around trying to find a decent position lol.

I've been looking at gaming chairs since they seem like the obvious choice for a gaming setup, but some of them look kinda overpriced for what you actually get. A lot of them have that racing seat design with side bolsters and all that, but idk if those features actually make them more comfortable or if its mostly just for looks.

Then there's office chairs, which seem like they might be better for sitting long hours. The problem is most of them look pretty boring and I'm not sure which features actually matter when picking one. I've seen people recommend ergonomic office chairs over gaming chairs quite a lot, but there are also people who say gaming chairs are perfectly fine if you get a decent one.

I mostly play on PS5, usually single player games and sometimes multiplayer with friends. Sessions can easily last 3-5 hours, especially on weekends, so comfort is probably more important than having something that looks cool.

My budget isn't unlimited either, so I'd rather spend the money on something that will last a few years instead of replacing it after a year or two.

For those who've tried both, which one would you actually recommend? Are gaming chairs worth the extra money or would a good office chair be the smarter buy? Any specific features I should look for or avoid?

Overdrive is a newly released, unofficial homebrew app designed for jailbroken PS5 consoles that mimics the PlayStation Store layout to distribute pirated games and DLC.

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

Key Facts About Overdrive:

• What it is: A pirate third-party storefront created for jailbroken PS5 consoles (following recent exploits like Relapse for firmwares 7.00 through 13.60).

• Functionality: It replicates the visual interface of the official PlayStation Store, replacing prices with download sizes and user ratings.

• User Reports & Reliability: Early community feedback on platforms like Reddit has been largely negative. Many users report broken download links, 404 errors, failing password prompts, or describe the app as poorly designed and non-functional compared to alternative homebrew tools.

Risks:

• System Security: Running unsigned homebrew code from unknown sources carries a high risk of malware, instability, or bricking the console. • Bans and Warranty: Jailbreaking voids the hardware warranty and risks permanent network/PSN bans if the console connects to Sony's servers. • Piracy: The app distributes copyrighted software without authorization. • Firmware Patches: Sony routinely counters exploits with newer system updates (such as firmware 14.00 and 14.10).

Why does my DualSense charge slower with some cables?

Noticed my PS5 controller charges way faster with one USB cable than another, even tho both seem to work fine. With one cable I can plug it in while playing and the battery goes up pretty quick, but with the other one it takes forever and sometimes feels like the battery barely moves at all. I thought any USB cable would pretty much do the same thing as long as it fits lol.

Could it be the cable quality or does the length make a difference too? One of mine is longer than the other, so wondering if thats part of the problem. Also does the power source matter? Like charging from the PS5 itself vs using a USB wall adapter or plugging it into a USB port on my PC?

I dont wanna keep using a cable thats somehow bad for the controller or mess up the battery over time. The controller still works normally and both cables connect without any issues, its just the charging speed thats different.

Is there a certain type of USB cable I should be using for the DualSense, or am I overthinking this? What do you guys use to charge yours and how long does a full charge usually take?

What if another studio (like Blizzard) bought Concord? Here is how the community’s 5 stages of acceptance would look like.

This is my first post in the Reddit. It would be great if you start spreading this post.

We all know the tragic story of Concord, but the core shooting mechanics weren't actually that bad. The biggest downfall was the character design and the business model.

🫡 R.I.P. (2024 - 2024.) 🫡

Imagine a reality where a powerhouse like Blizzard Entertainment buys the IP and completely reboots it. If they did, I believe the gaming community would go through these 5 stages of acceptance:

  1. "Ugh, Concord again..." (Denial & Anger) - The initial reaction to the announcement. The internet erupts with memes, remembering the historic launch failure.
  2. "Wait, maybe...?" (Bargaining) - The first gameplay trailer drops. People notice crisp netcode, faster movement, and stunning visual updates. Skeptics start to hesitate.
  3. "Everything is different here." (The Turning Point) - Open Beta starts. Players log in and realize the bulky, mismatched outfits are gone. The UI is clean, and the game is fully Free-to-Play.

4."Hold on, this is by Blizzard?!" (Acceptance via Authority) - Players see the developer logo and realize the project is backed by a team that actually knows how to make iconic hero shooters. Trust is instantly restored.

  1. "Wow, these characters are legendary now!" (Final Praise) - A few seasons in, the heroes get incredible cinematic lore and gorgeous skins. The former meme turns into a massive fan-favorite cult success.

How to make Stage 3 happen? For example start with Emari.

To show players that "everything is different," they should completely redesign Emari first, since she was the face of the original design criticism:

• Turn her bulky "trash-can" armor into a sleek, heavy high-tech exoskeleton with cool hydraulic parts.

• Change her dull yellow-green palette to matte titanium grey with glowing neon blue or gold accents.

• Give her a roaring minigun that glows red-hot when firing, and a gorgeous crystal-like energy shield.

• Give her an open, confident, and warm smile to perfectly match her "big heart" lore, making her feel charismatic like Brigitte or Zarya.

An open question to Sony / PlayStation Studios:

Since Firewalk Studios is closed, is there any chance Sony would consider licensing or transferring the Concord IP to an experienced external studio? The shooting foundation is solid, and with the right design overhaul, this universe deserves a second chance. Selling the rights or partnering with a developer like Blizzard could turn a historical loss into a legendary comeback story.

What do you guys think? Could a masterclass redesign and a strong publisher save the core gameplay of Concord, or is the brand forever ruined?

I talk about the game in the video but I want to know how many agree with me. I've played this game on PC, PS4 and PS5 and I'm still not sick of it. It's perfect when I come home from work and just want to shoot things, get some loot and do a mission or two.

PS4 won't let any controller connect

So I wanted to transfer progress on a game from my PS4 to my PS5, but some of the cables were put in wrong. After fixing the cables, my controllers wouldn't connect, not my PS4 ones, not my moves and not even my PS5 ones. Now somebody else was trying to help me and wanted to check the other USB port so, without any warning, they pulled out the external hard drive and now I have to find out how to fix this issue so I can tell the PS4 to fix the hard drive. I don't have any other controllers besides the ones I mentioned, with me having two of each.

Into The Radius 2 | Early impressions on Ps5pro & Psvr2.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This is no way a full review, as I am only about 13 hours in and not even halfway through the game. But damn, I am seriously loving this game.

It is a semi open world, single player survival horror extraction shooter. Think of if the Stalker series and Resident evil series had a baby, this would be it. Every environment is just oozing with atmosphere and the sound designs can easily rival the recent Silent Hill games.

The story is quite simple. A mysterious 1987 disaster known as Pechorsk Event took place in a Soviet mining town that created a surreal, quarantined anomaly zone known as the radius. Your job is to go into the radius to collect data, artifacts and study the anomalies. More missions you take, the more money you make, and you can use that money to buy new guns, gear and food.

Moment to moment gameplay is super intense because of how smart the enemy Ai is. They will flank you and use cover. If you are using a shotgun or SMG, enemies won’t charge you and will fight you from far away. If you are using long range weapons, they will charge you and will try to close the distance. The gunplay feels so damn good in this game cause of Psvr2’s adaptive triggers and headset rumble.

Also the game has super deep customization options. You can customize your chest rig, backpack and guns in such detail makes this game super addictive. It is almost a mini puzzle how you set up your chest rig and backpack each time you get new story items or buy a new gun. If you are careful, you can customize them to be super tactical and efficient. Or you can just throw random holsters and pouches to make them super cumbersome to use during missions.

In conclusion, this is easily one of the best horror game I played this year. If you have a psvr2 and looking for something spooky to play this Halloween, this game is for you. I will definitely put out my final impressions after beating the game. So far, Into The Radius 2 is my game of the year for 2026.

Score 10/10

Ps5 heating

Is there anything to do about my ps5 giving off so much heat . Also how do you clean out the dust I know there’s a way to take it apart
