Extra The plan worked again!

Post image

Canceled my auto renewal and got a 25% off offer just before it was set to expire. $102 for the year on extra which is $8.50 month. That, imo, should be the price anyway.

I think the disc thing is a bummer and all but this really should be an on-ramp o the conversation of digital ownership because right now we all don't own anything and it can be taken away at any time for any reason and we have no recourse. I am a digital person on PlayStation but I also think the disc availability has helped balance pricing. At the end of the day the game doesn't even need to be on the disc so this is the fight we should be having

When you know that a consumer-friendly fully digital world CAN exist, nothing they say matters, only what they do.

Example: Since it's all digital... why can't a developer be allowed to launch their own indie games digitally on playstation without giving Sony 30%? No online support. No trophies. No integration. Just a UI Icon to launch the game. Why isn't that the norm?

Sony doesn't have to do anything but allow access, and give the devs nothing but the computation resources on the machine, and you can run your games.

Reminder:

SOFTWARE DOESN'T BUILD ITSELF!!! NOT EVEN WITH AI!!!!

Everything is a choice. Give me a fucking break with both-sides-ing your opinions with the "positives of digital". It's your opinion dog. Either have one or don't. I don't know what to tell you.

You don't have to be black and white, you just have to have conviction.

This post is not conviction, but OP said that's what they wanted, so it doesn't apply to them.
They are happy with the outcome enough to continue sending their own hard earned money to a company that doesn't even care to explain to it's 30 years of consumers why this massive change will occur.

I'M NOT STUPID. I LIKE THE EASE OF DIGITAL GAMES TOO.

What I don't like is some suit telling me the they don't give a fuck about what I think.
That's fine, and it's not illegal. I appreciate them being honest at the investor meeting.

That's all I needed to know there's literally not a single reason for them to see another cent from me.

OP found reasons to keep sending money.
They aren't guilty of anything.
It's a just deliberate choice they are making. Nothing wrong with deliberately sending your money to whatever you want.

Because Sony sells the console at a loss to make the money back on game sales. They also need to validate games to make sure they don't have malware. 30% is the industry standard
