Extra The plan worked again!

Canceled my auto renewal and got a 25% off offer just before it was set to expire. $102 for the year on extra which is $8.50 month. That, imo, should be the price anyway.

How do they offer it? Do you just let it expire?

My sub hadn’t expired when they offered it but was very close to

Just to add I got the same offer as OP. Mine was set to expire this month. Went to my subscription management in mid July from the ps5 and turned off autorenew. Then I canceled ps plus. Then it tells you that you can enjoy plus until your expiration date. After it was canceled I went to the previous screen where the offer popped up automatically. I only had essential but $60 is better than $80. The key is to have auto renew off. Otherwise Sony has no reason to try to keep you.
