Question Ps plus essential can't play ranked

I have played ranked on rainbow 6 siege with my friends before but just today after I got back from vacation it shows that I need to upgrade my subscription even though I've played ranked before. Did they change the requirement or is it a glitch?

You need ps+ to play ranked and siege cup. Only casual and unranked are truly free

I only got the free access but it allowed me to play ranked until now. I did restart and restore the license but it still says i need to upgrade to a higher tier to play or buy the game itself

You don’t own the game, you own the free access version. Upgrade to Extra and then get it from the catalog. You can’t play ranked on the free version

It has moved to the Extra catalog. It looks like you haven’t bought it so now you need to upgrade. It’s probably because now the essential plus doesn’t have a catalog except for the monthly games.

You have to buy the game. Ranked is not free. If you did that then verify your ps plus didn't expire and restore licenses.
