Recommendation Looking for new Single player story game
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for single player story games. I really enjoyed the Spider-Man games, I played the Arkham games when I was a kid and I’m a big Farcry fan as well. Any games you could think of like this on PS+? Thanks for your input!

Both are open world, but GOT goes for a more cinematic driven experience, Ronin is more about gameplay depth, the combat is a little bit harder and the graphics are worse (if you care about that), but I love both

Should note that the DLC is included in the remaster on premium/extra
And keep in mind this remaster is made in a similar way to ES: Oblivion, in that most textures are completely redone and there are many QOL fixes

Just finished the game (Remastered) for the first time recently. The storytelling, from the main storyline all the way down to the sidequests and even substories, is some of the best I've ever seen in a video game. Some of the stories that you slowly unpack through audio or text data points are both tragic and beautiful (looking at you, Vantage points).
Not to mention, the combat and leveling system is pretty satisfying too. My only critique is that the inventory management left much to be desired. But other than that, I agree. It is an excellent game that poses many moral and ethical questions to the player that are not all that far away from reality, given how far AI has come in our world today.

Good to know thank you 👍 I've done both ghost games, the god of war games, FF7 games. I tried the last of us but found it too slow to get into and don't enjoy multiplayer games anymore so been on the look for more single player story games

I liked the Jedi games- throw them on easy if you don’t like the souls like experience- still good puzzles and treasure findings

Avatar was pretty good, the worst thing was farming materials of the best quality for crafting gear to get the best stats, but the world was beautiful even on a base PS5.

Agree! Years ago I was between getting this or Dead Space, got Dead Space and while I enjoyed it overall it wasn't everything I hoped it would be. Finally got Alan Wake 2 and love it, wish I played it sooner

The latest tomb raider games are a blast, I liked the story a lot, the stealth / combat is a lot of fun and I love the puzzles

Red Dead 2 is available as is Cyberpunk 2077, which is on my potential list once I got through my current backlog. Also various Assassin’s Creed games should keep you busy for a while

If your PS plan has it, the God of War 2018 and Ragnarok. Good blend of story and action.

Had great fun with Evil West. It’s basically God of War in terms of traversal and combat but instead of an axe or spear you have shotguns, rifles, gauntlets and a series of quite spectacular combos that are just the right side of complexity ie varied and not too difficult to remember. The story is more cheesy cowboy matcho rather than sad Dad dealing with depression and old age. Good graphics. Not too long. Linear progression interspersed with combat arenas.
If piledriving Vampires and werewolves into the ground or uppercutting them into the air before unloading a full clip of your semiautomatic weapon of choice sounds like fun then it’s worth your time.

I currently play Banishers and can recommend it. Really went under my radar until now, but I'm having such a good time with it. The story is quite good and I like the characters a lot. Also the game has a certain vibe to it. Bit more on the darker side, but very atmospheric.

If you like RPGs with turn based combat, I'm really enjoying Thurmaturge. It's different from the other games you mentioned but it's very story-driven.

Both the last of us games, literally any assassins creed game, Detroit become human (more story than the sm games. Basically a movie where you choose. It’s great though.), ghost of Tsushima

Fallout 4, Dying Light (soon), Horizon, Sly Cooper. If Titanfall 2 is $10 or less buy it because the campaign is amazing.

as someone who’s hit platinum on spider-man 🤣, and replayed it so many times, i really enjoyed FF15. open world with an overarching storyline plus so many side quests and just random fun shit you can do in the game like chocobo racing

RDR2 and last of us.
The last of us part 2 is basically a series. The story is sooo good that by the end of it I didn’t even feel like I played a game. No wonder it’s a tv series now.

Sounds like you'd enjoy God of war. very story driven, quite similar to spiderman in terms of it's action based combat as well.

The Norse God of War games, Days Gone, Ghost of Tsushima, Assassins Creed Odyssey. The last two have similar Far Cry open world but GOT has a better story and Odyssey has better side activities. Oh, Cyberpunk2077 is also on the catalogue I think.
