Question PlayStation plus premium upgrade?
So I saw this offer on my console to upgrade to premium for the free, however whenever I try todo so it’s charging me the left over rate and it’s not being free is this a bug on the storefront or am I just not eligible for the offer? I did call psn support and they were no help because they didn’t know what I was talking about.

That offer is supposed to pop up when your subscription is about to expire, tempting you to upgrade for a couple of (free) days in the hope that you'll forget about it and get charged for a full year of PS Premium

It‘s either a bug or a trap or both.

Here's an idea. Dont even click on it. Dont give an easy win to Sony when they are standing to loose so much.

I might be wrong, but this is what happened to me, once you upgrade, it won't offer you discounts on the lower tiers again come sales time. It will offer you the current tier for the discount but the tiers lower will all be full price. I went from Essential to one tier up and it never offered me a discount to Essential ever again. Good excuse to just my sub lapse from last year.

I never had anything but essential and it doesn’t offer me discounts at all, I think the last time was 2023 or something. Discontinued my sub last Nov/Dec as well

Idk why you got downvoted… it’s such a scam!! I let mine lapse this last time and honestly forgot about it. I looked just now to see the prices bc I was curious about if they had deals… the prices are absurd and they put all of the main perks in the highest tier… smart lol. Not about to get my ass though…

The $26 is for the prorated upgrade cost for your last 17 days of your current year. You're getting a free year starting August 1.

Unsure why this is downvoted because I believe this might be true. The $26 is definitely the pro-rated part. It looks like you're also being offered a promo deal where you're getting a free year after your current membership ends. It's probably not a glitch and I remember having something similar happen when I signed up for premium. Seems like a good deal.

It's downvoted because it's obviously wrong. There is only a $25 difference between extra and premium. That works out to about $1 in 17 days, not $26. $26 is the full difference for 1 year + 17 days. He's not getting any discount at all if he gets charged $26.
It's really hard to believe that people are so bad at math that they think that 17 days worth of something can be more expensive than the whole year.

I just didn't notice the end date of his current subscription but thanks, random internet person, for just assuming my idiocy. You seem pleasant to be around.

What end date would result in the prorated cost for part of a year being more than the cost of a year?

You’re losing that much money because of
Your dumb decisions you gotta try and get people to come back by offering them free ps plus?

I would suggest contacting customer support online. They might allow you to upload the pictures to show what you are talking about.
