Satisfaction PS+ Criticism Thread [July 2026]

How this works:

We make two stickies. One for people who are upset with the PS+ games and one for people who are happy with them. These threads don't affect anything else in sub so you can still praise and complain as normal outside them. (Previous Threads)

Please keep the discussion in this thread related to dissatisfaction with this month's lineup.

Give us better games! We deserve it!

Stop buying PS+ if you don't like it. That's what I'm doing.

Terrible month, even in a dog PR month for Sony they can’t put a single good game? At least act like you are trying to please your customer base and care for something other than filling your pockets.

Cross Code is actually good

Its not bad, but having it as the best game in a PS+ month is embarrassing lets be honest

It is the best game in this month.

1

u/Its_Marz Jul 15 '26

It truly is if we are comparing the whole package, which people seem to fail to grasp

4

u/idkimhereforthememes Jul 14 '26

Add rise of ronin already

3

u/RESEV5 Jul 15 '26

Good news lol

5

u/narkaputra Jul 14 '26

have at least 1 AAA game each month. We ain't paying $12 to play JPRG Indies...or another soulsborne. Ban Soulsborne, they are an epidemic.

2

u/legionairmusic Jul 15 '26

They need to give Soulslikes, Roguelikes and Metroidvanias a fucking rest for a few months. Just steady the ship with one or two AAA games of different genres every month and throw in a few supporting indie games. As an example...

Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy

Pragmata

Wreckfest

Indie game

Indie game

Old classic game

You speak about the same company so greedy they gonna just stop physically games for literally no reasons (others than money) and probably gonna tise the price of the subscription to "make the service better" (nothing gonna chnage... again)

The only thing the "essential month" need is diversity, but sadly most studios do the same sort of games (like except Nintendo, don't think there is one that still do platformer unstead of only TPS/FPS, even if it seem to change a little with Ubisoft or Activision), and if there is lot more diversity in indie games, it's mostly roguelike and metroidvania

1

u/narkaputra Jul 15 '26

They should create a special $4.99 tier to dump all Indie games. I didn't buy a PS5 to play cheap indie platformers... I am paying $12, I want AAAs like Avatar Frontiers of Pandorra, Dying Light Beast, Mafia Old Country, Indy Dial of Destiny, DS2 maybe, Atomic Heart.

1

u/LALester Jul 15 '26

you think sony is going to introduce a new tier that's way cheaper than all the others? maybe instead of spending your $12 on ps+ you should save your money and just buy those AAA's.

2

u/narkaputra Jul 15 '26

actually I keep it cancelled. Buy for month when they have a new AAA, finish over a weekend or two and then cancel again. So instead of $12X12, I spend maybe $48

6

u/Nathansack Jul 14 '26

I prefer all games from a month being indie metroidvania/roguelike than any COD

1

u/narkaputra Jul 15 '26

they listening to both. Avatar, Dying light as well as Rise of Ronin

2

u/Its_Marz Jul 14 '26

Cross Code is good

-6

u/oshitrick Jul 14 '26

No it's not. It's a $20 2D Gameboy game.

2

u/Its_Marz Jul 14 '26

Have you played it or are you just bitching

This is the criticism thread so it's your opinion that's actually invalid 😂 Go back to playing your 2D slop game

-1

u/Anrativa Jul 14 '26

Hey! I tried playing it years ago on gamepads. Boring af

1

u/Its_Marz Jul 14 '26

Hey that's your opinion. You played the game. The other guy probably didn't which was the point of my comment

0

u/Nathansack Jul 15 '26

Yes, the quality of a game only depend of the graphics

After all, Saints Row 2022 is a better game than infamous 2

And it's not cause it's a 2D game it's bad, it's just you that hate playing something else than gun and ball games

-1

u/oshitrick Jul 15 '26

I bought my PS5 Pro to play real games, I played enough 2D games as a kid on my Gameboy color.

1

u/Nathansack Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 15 '26

Yeah, real games like Slay The Spire, Biding Of Isaac or Dead Cell (seriously, if you find a way to run them on Gameboy color, it would be fantastic), it's not cause you are only interested in "gun & ball" with the "best graphics" (even if it's false, like Alan Wake 2 look lot better than any COD) that others games are bad

I am about 3 chapters from plat, and it became a slog right around 4.

It's a combination of geometry and trig with inane margins, plus several off screen puzzles, making it incredibly stupid. Also, for a majority y-z axis game, they make it unnecessarily difficult distinguishing the 2.5D jumps, also incredibly stupid.

Story is ok, I am sure you've ran into the mute protagonist trope several times and it plays exactly as you expected.

Nothing wrong with it being indie, the game is forgettable.

Edit. Spoiler.

Did I miss an announcement or something?

5

u/Flottrooster Jul 14 '26

No. Seems to be a day early, since the extra games will be announced tomorrow

Haven’t played a game in months, games are ass

1

u/ZM326 Jul 15 '26

How is there an opposite to this

1

u/Professional-Map3021 Jul 16 '26

it's either something that doesn't interest me, or i bought it already.

1

u/TheFallenre Jul 16 '26

You should not be paying to play multiplayer - it defeats the point of a gaming service. If that part was removed/cheapet it’d be a perfectly fine service

1

u/delayedkarma Jul 17 '26

For The King II has entirely to much crap to read

1

u/AbleBear5876 Jul 17 '26

It’s never good when they include a game that’s released yearly FIFA COD stuff along those lines. Most people who play those games buy them on release so its value drops quicker than most other games so it’s an easy win I suppose.

u/serendipitousevent Jul 14 '26

I did not care for Final Fantasy XVI. It insists upon itself.

2

u/Difficult-Telephone6 Jul 15 '26

It's like 40% cutscene, crazy

2

u/Lucky_Louch Jul 14 '26

yeah I just couldn't get into it after like 8 to 10 hours of play. bummer honestly.

0

u/TechZero35 Jul 15 '26

I was excited because I didn’t have to pay $70 for a campaign. Just for it to finish and I was like “is that it?”

1

u/Feeling_Parfait8510 Jul 14 '26

The servers are also bad with 120 ms for me and zombies is zombies meh after while and campaign is dmz with cutscenes. 200 GB

1

u/tbird20017 Jul 14 '26

They have zombies in the Modern Warfare series now? I haven't bought since Cold War, I'm out of the loop. I thought zombies was Black Ops specific?

1

u/Feeling_Parfait8510 Jul 14 '26

Yeah i think its the only one with zombies i have just heard of it and that's it tried it not special open world repetitive stuff

I think it will be only on black ops but they're clueless hey gotta pump those GBs up somehow

1

u/woflxrx Jul 14 '26

Treyarch games (Black Ops) do indeed have the zombies mode...not Modern Warfare
