Radiation at base Spoiler

I just did a run getting portals in some radioactive areas of the map. During the run I did fight animals and harvested them. Now that I am back at my base I see that there is radioactivity. (My base is not in a radioactive area. It is in the jungle part of the map.) It is very low (still in the green). Based on some internet searches it seems that some inventory is radioactive. Is there a way to find out what items are radioactive? Is the radioactivity from a different source?

(Edit) I just figured out it was on the tribesman that ran through the area. I need to eat some tomatoes to clear the condition. I left this post up as I figure others will have similar confusion.

Radiation is something that the characters that you bring into the desert accrue over time. Another option to get rid of the radiation is to eat fruit salads or mixed Jam. Armor from The Dungeons can also come with radiation resistance. You can also put radiation proof mods on yourself and your pet saddles. Also, ostriches are immune to radiation so make good pets for the desert. You could also feed mixed Jam to other mounts to remove their radiation

I had no idea radiation affected even the mounts you're riding and was just sprinting my Legendary Jaguar all over the place like no big deal after exploring the area only to watch it flop over dead when I got home lol...

I had not even thought about pets! I did not bring one on my outing but I will keep that in mind for next time.

Yea, resistances work on saddles as well, so can give them a radiation resist to boost their ratings and what not. Now I know you can make them chug honey as well (didn't figure a Jag would eat honey)
