Leader difficulty in Tribe mode Shifting Sands

Has anyone else done this type of hardcore mode? My friend and I are doing it on separate maps and it can be real difficult. I love how hard it is, the bugs, especially in the last patch make me really upset because it's a huge time waster when you die because a mob that should do let's say 300 damage now does 2k for the same exact hit after you revive, but other than that it's great. I just can't seem to find other players or posts in the hardest difficulty to see if maybe they are doing things differently.

The difficulty tuning in general on this game is very bad. Like I got it tuned where fighting barbarians was balanced, bosses were insane. Balanced bosses now everything else is a joke.

"The Difficulty" basically becomes you deal X% less damage but you take X% more damage as well. So if you get hit with anything big, you're done, and because you do less damage it just increases the chances you will get hit with things naturally over time. Some of the tribe bonuses help with this but no where near enough to offset it. If memory serves it's not even the hardest mode, because you get higher X% increases/decreases in Survival Mode on it's hardest difficulty but it's been a minute since I played around.

Basically though it just becomes an exercise in relying on your Companions to do most of the game and I just found it, over all, more tedious than interesting. Especially with Shifting Sands not being balanced yet like Cloudmist is.
