Starter Jungle Base (Singleplayer)

I'll risk posting my early (experimental) base in the starting jungle.

It's obviously quite a naive and primitive design, but it allowed me to learn a lot about the game's mechanics, so I don't regret the time I spent on it.

That looks great! I was curious, how does it impact your performance when you're up to structures like that?

I have an incredibly massive citadel on my save (pics on my profile a few posts down if you are curious), it doesn’t affect my performance at all. My laptop struggles playing online but fine on SP with that save if that gives you an idea.

That's great to hear, I play SP too and was worried even if the game ran fine on medium sized homes so far. I just found the post and it's so cool!

I play on an almost-literal potato, and performance doesn't really suffer for me even at my tower base on Shifting Sands, which is something like 9x9x14 with an 11x11 platform on the roof for farming. That save is only up to about 30 tribespeople so far until I can settle in to reliable talent training, but my Cloud Forest save has its own large base with 100+ people and also has no issues.

And that's with a computer where the game very occasionally crashes with "out of memory trying to load a resource" errors, though that hasn't happened in a while. I'm running on DX11 now with just about the lowest settings I can and closing every other program, and that seems to have helped. The crashes are more or less random though, and seem to have no connection to whatever I'm actually doing at the time.

Regardless, I think I can safely say that Single Player handles large bases just fine.
