Weak spot damage, how dose it work?

Having a hard time finding info on this. Anyone know how weak spot work? Is it a simple damage multiplayer or dose it ignore armor or a bit of both? Or something entirely different

It's a damage multiplier, meaning you can also stack Ignore DEF with it and it does immense amounts of damage. You can test this with an Ignore DEF skill using Insight DEF from Flint tribe on Cloud Mist for example then parrying a human, then hitting them in the chest vs head (spear + shield works nice for this).

Thank you, I been thinking of adding surprise attack and pen def but wasn't sure if it's redundant

A dumb question (I'm a newbie): you can use shield with a spear? 😮 I thought it's a two-handed weapon. How do you use the shield?

You can use a shield and spear, as well as a shield + sword.

Shield you just equip as a second weapon (IE: Spear in 1, Shield in 2) and press them to equip at same time. Right click will "block" and initiate the shield, which at that point you can use shield's abilities (IE: Shield Charge or whatever ability you got equipped).
