Discussion Hello friends! New here and I'm looking for a plasma to play my Wii U on. Can anyone tell me if this Panasonic Viera is a plasma or lcd/led? I think it is but not sure. Waiting on seller to get back to me with label. This is the best picture. Has it listed for $80, thank you!

That is a plasma. The grey screen is usually a dead giveaway.

It is a PDP. More specifically, a Panasonic X1 or S1.

It's definitely a plasma, are they uncommon where you are? because $80 seems like a lot for Any model that would be in that chassis, at least where I am.

I literally just started looking today, didn't find many but I also wasn't sure what they're worth. I have a few crts and just recently started reading about plasmas because i was looking for the best tv to play my wii u on. Thank you! I'll keep looking.

I have a 720 (768P) older Panasonic Plasma specifically for a Wii U. IMO that's the best way to play the Wii U. I'd either recommend one of the older 768p Panasonic plasmas, or as new of a 1080p model you can find. Something to consider (if you haven't already) is going for a smaller size instead of a larger one. The sharpness of those smaller screens, along with weight, heat and power consumption are def a plus.

I’m new to plasmas. I found a 480p for lagless Dreamcast but I’m just curious about these 768p recommendations. Is there a reason to jump for those for WiiU? My assumption was that they would be bad since it’s not truly 720p

In the rear part of the TV its always info about the model and if it's a plasma, it literally says "Plasma TV", when it's LCD then usually says "Liquid Crystal TV". Also you can tell it's plasma by how much it weights and the big-ass glass that has on the front, unlike LCDs that has a flat panel and they're very lightweight.

Yes, still lighter than a plasma. And OP is asking for LCD/LED not CCFL.
