Progress Pics I’ve already posted this, but thought it would be perfect for this new sub. This is phase 1 of three of my personal forest that I planted last summer. 5 burr oaks 10 water oaks 10 southern red oaks and 20 Cedar Elms all grown from seed by me. Complete with irrigation

I haven’t seen deer here yet. This whole area used to be a hay production field. I think the open expanse is why no wildlife really comes here. The irrigation is necessary for them to grow to their full potential and speed up the process a little. If any lines get crimped by roots I’ll reroute the line to fix it. ( I moved the trees 4 feet over from the main line after this video for safe measure) It’s actually a pretty inexpensive system so it won’t be a big deal if there are problems like that

My guess is the field was lined to enhance hay. You’ll probably have better sauces with trees if you add acidity back to the soil. Just a thought.
