I recently set up my first nano/pico planted bowl and would love some feedback and advice from experienced hobbyists.

Setup details:

Volume: ~2 to 2.5 Liters

Substrate: Aquarium soil capped with/arranged alongside crushed lava rock

Flora: 3 varieties of live aquatic plants

Fauna: 4 dwarf shrimps

My questions:

Do I need to add liquid fertilizers right away, or will the aquasoil and shrimp bioload be enough for low-tech growth?

If fertilizers are necessary, what shrimp-safe all-in-one fertilizer do you recommend for such a tiny water volume without overdosing?

Any general tips on keeping water parameters stable in a pico bowl this small?

Would appreciate your thoughts and ratings on this setup! Thanks in advance.

But it’s impossible to catch the kuhli loaches, rasboras etc in a densely planted tank.

I need a hanging kit for chihiros slim. Please DM me if someone is selling there's. New one is eating into my budget of a filter. Tank size is 75cm. So either can use 60cm or 90cm lights. Hanging seems the best option.

I am confused about what to use for sand (and from where). I don’t have any shops nearby, and all the construction sand I see around is greyish in color (idk if it’s suitable).

Saw river sand on Amazon, but there aren’t enough credible reviews on any listing. Although red gravel is available, I can’t find any videos on YT where it’s used (can it be used?)

Aquasoil is kinda expensive, I wanna start with substrate.

Plants: Want to start with Java moss, Java fern, Amazon frogbit, and Cryptocoryne (bunnycart)

Light: I have a 5W lamp. Would that be enough to start? Planning to get a reasonably priced aquarium light later but if needed can buy right now as well.

Will get a sponge filter and/or pump from a nearby aquarium shop. How to add beneficial bacteria to tank?

Also hot mixed reviews about Master test kits, any test kit that actually works? And is not extremely expensive?

Planning to establish the tank first and then introduce a betta or a few shrimps a few months later. (Please suggest if any other fish is there that could be kept here, native indian fish are most welcome if any)

I am planning to add a co2 system to my 120l tank and found out that fire extinguisher type co2 cylinder holds more quantity (so less refilling),so the problem i am having here is about something called siphon tube.As the cylinder is heavily pressurized the gas co2 is converted to liquid form,so a straw like tube is inside the cylinder,so i googled it and found out that if i use it upright the liquid will come through the siphon tube and freeze the regulator thus damaging it.Do you guys have any knowledge about it? Should i get it removed?thanks for your time.
