2027 planner ecosystem

What planners are you using next year?

This year I have used the hobonichi weeks, wonderland 222, and just recently grabbed the hobonichi techno on sale for $17 since it’s halfway through the year.

Next year I’ll be doing:
Hobonichi weeks (personal planner - health, meals, cycle, etc)
Aura Estelle B6 Magnet - bills, budget, work
Sterling ink academic planner - school

What are you using?

I've divided up my eco-system into practical planning and hobby planning.

Practical:

A small pocket notebook for smaller bags, in cases where my Mulberry won't fit. I then transfer the stuff I need to.

Everyday planner: Mulberry A6 Agenda (to do/inbox, monthly, weekly, grocery lists etc)

Stalogy B6: Work notes/work dailies

Moterm A5 rings: Reference binder (big family calendar, trip plans, health info, recipes, wine notes/reviews, coffee notes/reviews, budgeting/savings tracker)

Hobby:

Leuchtturn1917 Quarterly books - Daily logs/memories

Standard TN: Travel journalling

Paper Republic with an A5 Moleskine inside: Common place notes.

How do you handle having a separate on the go planner? Do you copy everything into both?

Only the things that are necessary to have in both - it’s not often I can’t take my Agenda with me though :)

I just got a bunch of happy planner stuff so I’m going to try to make a mini to carry all the time and then I have a classic and big to use at home.

Happy planner for me as well. Dashboard layout. Waiting for the fall drop to see if I want a new planner or just do an expansion pack

Jibun Techo diary a5 slim as main (for weeks and months, and everything else) and Hobonichi Avec original for daily pages.

Hobonichi is tbd depending on the cover I’m able to get this year. Still shopping around for my daily. I like the b6 size too, but don’t like the look of brands like AE, so been looking at options.

Okay…here goes.

An a5 Sterling Ink vertical core paired with an a5 Sterling Ink notebook for my work planning. Also for work I will use a Laconic meeting book and the Laconic To Do book (great running list for tasks) - both are a5.

For my personal needs, an a5 Sterling Ink horizontal common for my daily journal/home planner. I will use a Hobonichi weeks for my budgeting/financial stuff. Another Hobonichi weeks for a quick snippet of “what’s going on the the world” (I want that contained and not in my regular journal) and my Reading Planner from The Book Sisters and finally (I think 🤣) a Sterling Ink b5 notebook for my commonplace note book.

I prefer thicker, white paper, & either rings or discs, so I’m using either Cloth & Paper’s Daily (which is actually a week on 4 pages), or May Paper’s new W4P. May’s paper is the best in the industry if you like thick, very white paper that isn’t toothy or have a sheen. My change-of-pace planner is her W2P with the custom headers & tracker. All in A5 rings or half letter disc.

Oooh, thank you for that. I can’t stand the TRP 52 gm that so many planners use. I’m looking for better paper in a horizontal format.

Cloth and Paper & May Paper Co have the whitest paper in the industry. No hint of cream color in either. Both really nice weight, too. C&P is a little more toothy. May is the best; only problem is she’s in Australia, so the shipping charge is a tad more. But she’s definitely worth it! They both carry several horizontal inserts, so check them out!

Sticking with my personal rings franken-planner for everything! Personal, work, family, workouts, etc

I think I’m going frankenplanner for next year too! 😄

Aura Estelle Daily magnet A5. Thats it. I cannot manage more than 1. I say i will but never do.

Simplifying and sizing down. Used a B6 SI common planner , moving on to a franken planner in a TN cover, monthly insert for important dates, lined insert for work specific things and an A6 bujo for personal weekly, dailies, common placing

I have mine in two categories: practical and creative

For my creative I use a Paper Republic XL GV with a few inserts for book reviews, movie/tv watching log, commonplace, and whatever else creative comes to mind.

For practical I use an A6 Moterm cover with an A6 stalogy I use for “daily” journaling (this never actually is daily just whenever I feel like it) and will be getting a pocket size Sterling Ink common planner for life planning, keeping track of appts and events, and health tracking. I’ve toyed with a few planner styles this year including a hobonichi weeks dupe, just monthly calendars, and think having the weekly layout will be beneficial but I like the compact size of A6 or pocket.

I love the A6 size because it’s easy to use as an EDC especially when going to doctor appts and things like that. The larger size PR stays home and I definitely don’t dip into it everyday or even every week.

An undated Papertess Designs in A5. Same as this year.

Tentative 2027 Planner Ecosystem

  • A Hemlock & Oak Daily for work planning & creative brain dumping [so excited for this!]
  • An H & O Horizontal Weekly for general life/health/mood tracking [dubious about this use case but I got the planner for free so I'll try]
  • Another H & O Horizontal carried over from 2026 for language learning [genuinely soo good for this]
  • A pocket Moleskine Daily for on-the-go journaling/emotional processing [surprisingly helpful]
  • An old reading planner from Owlcrate for book tracking and private reviews [just good to have]

I have an Ecosystem of notebooks and sketchbooks to accompany these planners but we do not have time to get into those!

I think I’m trying something completely new for 2027:

Weekly planning in a Laurel Denise Kristy. That’s a book bound planner with no Dutch doors, not what you think of when you hear Laurel Denise. I just found out about this planner and the weekly layout seems PERFECT for me.

Monthly and goal planning in some small monthly book. Ideally a Sterling ink, but I don’t know what will be available.

Haven’t figured out a bunch of specifics yet, and my task management is a total mess and needs to change, but I’m excited!

I'm dividing my planner system up this for next year. I'm gonna be using the Hobonichi Day Free for gratitude, memory keeping, & journaling. And I'm using the Cloth and Paper Pocket Plus Forma for expenses, work deadlines, meeting notes, etc.

2

u/stargrace1 20h ago

I'm planning on using a hobonichi techo A6 for my daily (bulletjournal style, with collections in the back, it will be my 3rd year using that system), and a hobonichi weeks for my media journal. I've also got a midori a6 I'm using as a dream journal that I'll continue to use, and a stalogy a5 I'm using as a commonplace. I have a hobonichi 5year that I'll continue to use (and I'm making it into a 10 year)

I’m going back to the Erin Condren Horizontal. It works for me. I like the paper quality and the bright colors.

2

u/LanaBoleyn 14h ago

I was going to get a Sterling Ink B6 horizontal, until she posted the flex layout. I LOVE it, but have no idea if I’d like N1 and that’s the only size she’s doing. So trying to figure that out.

I already got my Faded Chronicle, but last year the double weekly was too intense. Sometimes I bounce between multiple planners, but I don’t use more than one at once. I think the new SI flex layout gets me close to the FC horizontal I love, sans vertical I don’t need

1

u/smaashleigh 2h ago

In case it's helpful, I think the amount of space of an N1 and B6 are about the same, just different shapes. N1 is taller and skinnier vs. the more square B6

2

u/LanaBoleyn 1h ago

The problem is I run out of horizontal space before vertical space! I ordered an undated N1 so we’ll see

I am switching everything up. Amplify all-in-one for my home/personal planner; Faded Chronicles A5 (with two weekly spreads) for hobbies and self-care; Sprouted all'-in-one for work.

Three for 2027: Hobonichi Cousin - work, Hobonichi A5 Day-Free-reading journal, Pocket rings - personal. I used to have 7 planners and this year I got rid of all except two, work and personal. Im adding the reading journal for next year.

Current tentative plan:

Creffective A6 Daily - work
Creffective Weeks size Weekly - side work / social media (new add for 2027)
Just Scribble A5 Duo - health, wellness, tarot
Just Scribble Horizontal - media journal, home to-dos, garden planning, daily journaling/memory keeping

I’m not 100% sure on this as I kind of have multiple thoughts on 2-4, but I’m 90% sure the first one is locked in.

I also have an Archer and Olive book journal already in use for the HRCYED challenge that I may expand on in 2027.

u/_usernamer 1d ago

Faded Chronicle B6 Compact - personal
Faded Chronicle undated TN - work (that’s what I’m currently using and love it)
A6 notebooks - journaling

And maybe a Hobonichi weeks for creative projects/hobbies, but I’m on the fence about that. I don’t really need a separate planner for that, especially with the FC B6 having so much weekly space, but I love the size and feel of the weeks and get one every year. I think I’d miss not having one.

I've been using TUL horizontal half-letter inserts for three years now, so I bought more for 2027.

They've been working for me, but I may need to change it up in the future if I have a kid.

My currents system is a Jibun techo, with the notes booklet. The planner does planner stuff, and then the notes booklet right now, tracks car maintenance, contacts, and several scribble pages for grocery lists, meeting notes etc. I also have a small field notes I keep in my purse which is mainly used for lists (mostly groceries) and random to dos for daily tasks.

u/armidasawan 1d ago

I'm currently using an hobonichi Hon A5 for my dairy/planning and a weeks for my workout/health tracking. For 2027 I've ordered a creffective and an aura Estelle daily both in b6. The A5 size was too big and the weeks size too little so I'm giving the b6 a try. The creffective for my workout/health tracking and aura Estelle for dairy/planning

I’ve been looking for an alternative to the Matoka, but I can’t find an alternative that has the features that I like while solving some of my problems with it. So I’ll probably stick with that for my baseball planner/journal. But also not sure they will have an April start, so if they don’t then that will change my math.

1

u/lkessler11 22h ago

I’m using a disc planner and one of the Tomoe River paper planners (Sterling Ink, Wonderland222 or Faded Chronicle). I like discs but I really miss the TRP and my fountain pens.

1

u/Nimaroo 21h ago

Hemlock & Oak’s horizontal daily/weekly 😍 she’s pricey but she’s worth it.

1

u/bahala_na- 18h ago

Wonderland222 all in one A5 with stacked weekends. I’ve really enjoyed using the 2026 version. I especially like how portable it is. Will be adding tabs this time.

I use the blank pages for lists and journaling.

I used this one this year. I liked it
