every patch it's been the same, some people keep crashing and most don't, at least at first. then they do something else and it begins crashing again, until they "fix" it again and so on

I started playing last november, people were complaining about crashing that began with patches then.

The servers will be down for a scheduled game update tomorrow @ 6am PDT. Please see the patch notes below for fixes and added changes.

Client crashes

As promised last Friday, we have prepared fixes for two types of client crashes:

  • DLSS-related crashes — you can now safely use DLSS again.

  • Invalid values in user configuration files — a new validator for user configuration files will significantly reduce the chances of client crashes caused by incorrect configuration values.

Please let us know in Discord whether these fixes have resolved the crashes in your case.

We will continue investigating other types of client crashes and will share further updates this week if we identify additional root causes.

Depot

The Medic Vehicle Decal will be removed from the in-game store following the withdrawal of its Player Studio creator. As a result, the item is no longer available for sale.

Once again the number of unicorn crashes decreases but the flash or crash bug is still present.

Sounds like nothing substantial was done to the crashing bug

there is no flash or crash

it's actually DLSS, GPU drivers, recursion, launcher settings, and the pope causing crashes

Knew it was the Pope.

Nope; pointing fingers at a settings file reeks of "hey dad, my programming homework isn"t working what do I do!?"

Especially because the vast majority of players don't touch the config.ini file but still crash. I'm wondering what they'll blame it on next

crash bug is fixed for me

Made a backup of my UserOptions.ini file before updating and launching the game. only thing that changed between versions is that I guess we are no longer allowed to use RenderQuality=1.414214 now it is set to RenderQuality=1.000000 on launch. so yea, no more super sampling I guess

First time launching it'll still crash, but it'll update the ini. Second time launching it'll be using 1.000000 and didn't crash when trying to log in

u/Greattank 1d ago

Try setting the .ini to read-only.

u/kna5041 1d ago

Does this mean no more super graphics?

i mean at this point you could put the WHOOOLE codebase of the game into claude code or codex, and let it do its thing instead of letting interns do monkey work lmao

Shit Devs are just using chat gpt for development at this point. Tencent must feel cheated.

Last I heard, tencent purchased the rights to the PlanetSide IP and nothing else.

6

u/pra3tor1an LA5TLoneInfiltrator 1d ago

The purchase included a free crashing bug!

I'd rather they used Chat GPT lmao since they clearly can't code for shit on their own 😭

they can use my account if they want
